I'm always happy when the worst of the year list comes out, and I haven't seen any of them.
Okay, never mind, I've seen Jurassic World...
God dammit I'm still the only person on the internet that likes Jurassic World ;-;
I did, too. I think Brad mostly like it, just not the characters so much.
I gave it a negative review too. My opinion was pretty much in line with Sarah's, except it's not on my worst list.
Too many religious movies. At this point, I almost feel like you and Dave should make top 15s just to get the non-churchy garbage on the list.
Randy and GIC, I did too, it's ok to disagree with Brad on some things guys...
This will be fun...
Typical: Brad's best of video is 5 minutes, worst of video is one and a half hour :-)
WooHoo! Eggnog-flavored coffee and a Brian & Sara 'Worst' video..... Best morning ever! [Roller-coaster hand-waving]
Wonder if all the comedy sequels will share a slot together like for Starving Games, Scary Movie 5, and Movie 43 at #9 for the Worst of 2013?
My favorite Midnight Screenings quote of the year is in Brad and Sarah's review of Pan, in which Brad described the movie as a "cocaine-fueled nightmare."
Wow. I wouldn't have guessed that Brian considered "Seventh Son" worse than "Point Break".
I could have sworn Brian saw The Longest Ride and Aloha. I WOULD say I'm interested to see what Dave ranks lower, but I'm not convinced either of them are bad enough to make his list.
Bah, I checked out that trailer, her butt isn't that great.
I'm just glad to see The Loft was so high on Sarah's list because it's certainly high on my mine. What a piece of shit that movie was - horribly structured, poorly directed, filled with trashbag characters, lacked any eroticism, and was just a flat out BAAAAAAAD movie. The more people who can talk shit about that movie, the better I feel. It came off like a terrible made for basic cable movie you'd see late night on USA Network or something. BLAH!
Oh, I am right there with Brian on this one. I hate the Big Bang Theory! It is fucking terrible and is the nerd equivalent of black face. The Sheldon Cooper character is a fucking sociopath and if he were a real person he would be a despicable pile of human trash. I don't know about the actor though.
He had a decent part in HBO's "The Normal Heart", which is the only non-comedic role of his I'm aware of. And his Muppets cameo was amusing. Apart from that, though, most of his stuff is pretty goddamn terrible. Maybe if he got away from the Sheldon character and worked with someone more intelligent that Chuck Lorre he could churn out something good (it's not impossible - just look at Tyler Perry in Gone Girl) but as it is, he's easily one of my least favorite comedic actors.
Nerd "blackface". I'm not a big fan of big bang theory either, but really? And why single out Sheldon cooper when you have Indian and Jewish stereotypes and a reliance on blonde jokes stretched over umpteen series.
You must know the show but not have seen or heard anything about it on the internet. Google 'Nerd Blackface' and you'll see what I'm talking about for all the shit stirring this will bring...
I googled it! I suppose you could stick blackface on any set of clichés . "cop blackface" for anything about mavericks police officers who have ex wives, alcohol problems and live in one room. Southern Blackface for every actor or actress pretending to be poor white trash with those strange accents that are generically of the south but don't actually sound like real accent. The list would be endless.
As far as I've seen it, everyone in Big Bang Theory is a pretty thinly written broad caricature of some sort.
I forget who I got this quote from, but regarding TBBT he said, "I want smart jokes about stupid people, not stupid jokes about smart people." I think that is also why I like Archer so much.
Wait... when talking about Paranormal Activity: Ghost Dimension, did Brian say the demon Toby was "a big swarthy kinda black thing"?
He even calls the ghost Toby. Wow.
His name is Kunta Kinte.
Pan is like Tim Burton directed a Final Fantasy movie and then Youtube did a Bad Lip Reading of it...
I love how seriously Sarah takes her list. I'd do the same thing. ;p
Glad to see "Home" here, that movie was irritating.
My step dad likes to say that my 3 year old niece likes certain crappy kids' movies because he really wants to see them, when she doesn't actually want to. So, it's on Netflix, he goes through the whole thing saying that "it's her favorite movie" even though she hasn't seen it?
We made it like 15 min into it, before my niece just turned around and said "lemme watch somethin' else??"
Not "I want to watch Spongebob/Powerpuff Girls/whatever," but "I want to watch literally anything that isn't this."
And she is 3.
Your stepdad sounds pretty crazy. I don't know how to diagnose him though, maybe some kind of obsession with wanting to be a child again?
Nah, he's just an insecure asshole. My mother and I are both kind of critical of movies, so since he takes everything as a personal insult, he goes to ridiculous lengths to hide the fact that he likes shitty movies even though literally no one cares.
But it is super funny when his method of concealing his desire to watch shittiness blows up in his face tbh.
