Brad reviews a few movies you can find on On Demand, including Bruce Willis in "Vice," Jason Statham in "Wild Card," Nicolas Cage in "Outcast" and Ryan Reynolds in "The Voices.

Willis, Cage and Statham! at least one will be good...maybe...
2/11/2015 07:32:33 am
I saw the trailer to "The Voices". It's directed by the writer of "Persepolis", which is one of my favorite pieces of literature ever. Plus I like Ryan Reynolds.
2/12/2015 03:51:53 am
Really? That's suprising, and intriguing.
2/11/2015 07:38:00 am
I honestly really liked Outcast. I don't know why, but the movie worked for me. For the simple movie that it was, it made the best of it. I liked the characters, I understood where they were coming from, and I was entertained. It's also my favorite Hayden Christensen performance. I will support him at any point I can.

You should check out Ex Machina, It's a really interesting take on AI and the creation of a female robot.
2/11/2015 08:07:20 am
I found out some time ago that Ryan Reynolds also voiced the pets which is funny because when I saw the trailer, I thought the dog was voiced by Gary Busey!
2/11/2015 08:08:02 am
The UK poster spoils the shit out of The Voices, it literally shows the fridge and what's in it.
2/11/2015 09:13:03 am
Fucking Willis man, when will he stop slumming it and make good fucking movies again, or atleast a 90s type movie. Lately, off and on camera, he acts like hes got a huge stick up his ass. But hes capable of comedy. Moonlighting and even The Kid proved that. Goddamn it Willis
2/11/2015 09:55:16 am
I too am annoyed with Willis's persistent boredom/nonchalance/etc. for the last decade-plus now. It's almost to the point where it might be starting to affect how I view his older films where he still had some character. Where is the Bruno from The Last Boy Scout or even The Fifth Element?

I.m a big fan of on demand and the like. it reminds me of being a kid in the late 80s to early 90s. Hit and miss VHS rentals. Most of the cheesy horror films I grew up watching were on tape and there seemed to be hundreds of them released every week. A lot of crap but some good stuff as well. I never grew out of them. 360 films in a year, No problem..

So maybe Dilbert is a serial killer who thinks animals talk to him?
2/11/2015 11:02:25 am
I hope you get around to watching Everly, it's definitely your kind of action flick
2/11/2015 11:28:01 am
I saw nothing but negative AWFUL reviews for "Vice." I think it's 0% on Rotten Tomatoes as of its opening weekend.
2/11/2015 11:48:07 am
And the Burt Reynolds film is okay. A bit tonally inconsistent, but what do you expect from a film made by six directors? Burt's really solid in it, has a suspenseful climax, but it could certainly be done better. Sad to know that it didn't happen, and slipped through the fingers of a very good director who could've made it a harder film. Of course, you can't outdo that pimp suit Burt had in the original.

Lack of Lloyd... not approved.
Barry The Master Of Sandwich
2/11/2015 11:30:25 am
Ah, I slightly miss the days when I could watch a bunch of shitty on demand films....
2/11/2015 11:34:18 am
Ok, it might be just me, but having a still when there's a FREAKIN' HUMAN HEAD on the coffee table just a tincy weency but spoilery?
2/11/2015 11:46:55 am
Well, seeing how it's also on the poster, and it's one of the main still shots of the movie posted in numerous reviews and press photos; no, not really. It's a movie about a serial killer, and that happens pretty early on into the movie.

As far as reading too much into Vice, I conceived a premise similar to Vice after watching 50 First Dates: a brothel planet where the "hookers" didn't know they were hookers because they (like Drew Barrymore's character) were missing the ability to form long term memories. For truly anonymous yet ultimately authentic one-night stands. The twist would be that the head of this brothel was populating the planet with those "disappeared" and "executed" by other planets' regimes, believing this was more humane than simply death. He would mind-wipe them to make them docile and remove problematic memories; naturally, a side effect of the procedure is the inability to form any further long term memories and heightened libido.

If I had any money, I would be throwing it at you to see this film become a thing. Or at the very least I'd buy the rights from you to make it myself.
2/11/2015 12:40:06 pm
The Voices was insane. And seeing a female director at the end credits made me feel all warm and fuzzy. Female horror directors are always awesome to see.
2/12/2015 02:24:27 am
Everything said on Vice is right on the money. Uniquely bad movie.
2/12/2015 03:33:25 am
the voices movie sounds fun. i like ryan he's cool he kinda freaks me out cause i feel like his face is made of plastic sometimes.
2/12/2015 07:44:13 am
I was super worried about the animals while I was watching it lol but there's only one animal death on screen and it isn't the cat or the dog.

So Brad, with regards to Vice, would you say that you "hated this movie. Hated hated hated hated hated this movie. Hated it. Hated every simpering stupid vacant audience-insulting moment of it"?
2/12/2015 06:14:07 am
I am so sick of Hollywoods pro dog agenda!
2/13/2015 06:59:08 am
Then make cats stop their evil ways. Don't blame Hollywood for being honest.
2/12/2015 02:33:36 pm
I enjoyed the Voices, it was an entertaining sit. I'm so fucking ready for Deadpool next year, glad Reynolds is starting to get back into the swing of things. He deserves good movies
2/13/2015 03:33:34 pm
Brad can you put time stamps in the videos you do multiple reviews? It would help out a lot.
2/14/2015 01:35:12 pm
That's what the midrolls are for. They separate the reviews.
2/13/2015 11:59:12 pm
Huh, not so long after finally getting to watch Boogie Nights I hear about Thomas Jane in this crap and then I read Burt Reynolds in the comments. Now I just wanna watch the actor's commentary instead.
2/15/2015 02:05:12 am
Is Cage still fucking bankrupt. He really needs to manage his money.
2/17/2015 04:12:52 pm
Under which tags or section can i find other of the reviews of the VOD releases,
2/28/2015 03:50:09 am
Hey Brad, if you haven't seen What We Do in the Shadows, you REALLY should ASAP. It might be the first great movie of 2015.

Its such as you scan my mind! You appear to understand such a lot concerning this, such as you wrote the book in it or one thing. i believe that you simply may do with some pics to drive the message home to a small degree, however apart from that, this is often nice web log. an excellent scan.

Hate to be a bother, but I don't see the review for The Voices on here anymore, there seems to be a single video just reviewing Inherent Vice and Big Eyes.
