Tyler Perry saying hi to the Cinema Snob! That made my day!
Can't wait for Tyler Perry's next movie: A Madea in Snobby Creek with Christopher Walken as Thomas Crabtree
Special guest appearance by a "Very Naked Kirk Cameron" from Saving Christmas. XD
Don't forget the swaddling cloth. Cameron needs his swaddling cloth before the fucking
Ah, the Corman classics. I'd like to see you do Galaxy of Terror, but this will do.
Thanks Shout Factory!
Thanks Roger Corman!
Humanoids from the Deep. Mutant salmonmen on a rampage of rape and violence.
I forgot about that one. Good choice
He could split the difference between that and a Cannon action movie and do Lifeforce.
Lifeforce would have worked better right after after Nukie since Steve Railsback is in both
Now the Snob might be able to get a cameo in Boo! A Madea Halloween!
(i'm not kidding, that's the name of it. look it up.)
Maybe Brad can convince Hipster Dave or Slaver Brian to make a cameo just so that can say Cunty Mc-Mom Face. It'd be infinitely funnier than anything Tyler Perry Shits out of his Mouth.
A TYLER PERRY SHOUT OUT! A TYLER PERRY SHOUT OUT! A TYLER PERRY SHOUT OUT!
Come to think of it, when's Madea gonna do a slasher film WITH the requisite shower scene with FULL FRONTAL NUDITY?!
I don't care what you riff on, but slasher flicks (horror in general) might be my favorite of yours.
Any chance of you reviewing Larry Cohen's The Stuff?
I can't believe the Tyler Perry shout out! That was absolutely amazing!
Who will do a shout out next? My money is on David A R White!
Great episode as always, Snob. I've never actually seen most of the movies you review, but the reviews are so awesome that I don't have to. You're the greatest!
Why isn't Brad in his bra and panties on the title card too? Suspension of disbelief broken.
I love 80s slasher movies and I've always liked Slumber Party Massacre a lot. It is a proper satire on some of the underlying tropes of the genre.
The thing about the Scream franchise is that a lot of it's targets and alleged cleverness were already being acknowledged in a self aware way in slasher movies fairly early on. In truth the "jokes" were actually on a pretty similar level to the ones in the Bob Hope Cat and The Canary from way back in 1939! Also it's not actually very different to things like Night of The Creeps. The annoying smugness of Scream comes from the idea that previous cycles of horror films were dumb and the audience that watched them were watching them in a unsophisticated way. It sort of reminds me of the way music and pop culture generally is filtered by advertising to make it conform to an idea of a nostalgic clichéd innocent past that never was.
Just to put it out there: there are a set of movies known as Evil Dead Trap from Japan that might peak the interest of cinema snobs everywhere. Please CS review them.
What kind of "trap" are we talking about here? Japan has more than one kind.
Interesting review...however I am still missing Tequila and Bonneti episode 4 for how many weeks now?? I have so many questions left unanswered--what is the fate of Mariska Hargitays hair style? Will Tequila actually narrate a poodle porn? Will someone mention Tim Russ again? The slasher horror genre had its limitations...but I dare you to see the limits of Bonneti's love for his Cadillac.
Speaking as someone who just got back from vacation, and has recently seen TMNT: Out of the Shadows, I enjoyed it more that the previous movie, the critics (who seem to have hated TMNT since the very first movie according to RottenTomatoes) can suck on it, and ...Tyler Perry has given a shout out to The Cinema Snob. ...Ah, it's nice to be back, and to see a Snob review of the cult classic, "The Slumber Party Massacre."
4:35- I was wondering if you were gonna make a Carrie joke, because I was afraid if you didn't, I'd have to do it and look like a jackass in the comments.
Oh, and I was also hoping you'd reference Las Vegas Bloodbath.
7:58- If this movie turns into 10 Cloverfield Lane, I will be all for it.
8:18- When I was a kid, I remember using SALT to kill snails and slugs in my backyard, not a meat cleaver. ...Dick.
I actually think the refrigerator and circular saw scenes were pretty funny, and can assume those were from the 100% spoof version of the script.
I also haven't seen the sequels, but I guess the slasher comes back to life in the next film, and replaces his severed hand with an attachable power drill, similar to Ash and the chainsaw in Evil Dead 2.
17:13- ...DAMN IT, MOVIE. YOU DIDN'T TAKE ONE OF MY IDEAS! SHAME ON YOU!
I was wondering why this title seemed so familiar, and then I remembered "80's Dan". I really like that show (and this one, too, of course!)
Good Episode! Great funny title card also, Shaun M. gets way too little praise for his great work.
I can't wait to see your toughs on the second movie.
I still laugh my ass off today thinking about the WTF moment at the end of this review,. "I think your tits are getting bigger." "MINE?!?!"
