I'm disappointed, Brad. I expect Musical March to be in March, not September.
September should be reserved for Halloween movies.
That makes no sense. Why would Musical March (in September) be set in March instead of in September?
Because March is the month for horror movie porn spoofs!
What the fuck, how could you guys forget Mandingo March? :P
Brad, does that mean you'll do the Dino De Laurentiis produced movie "Mandingo" from writer the writer of "Staying Alive" Norman Wexler. Which also had Sylvester Stallone, before his scenes were deleted?
i thought it was monster massacre march?
Or was it mother maniac march?
So wait, is it still Fuck-mothering Freaks February?
Wait, Mandingo March? Does that mean we're not getting Manimal March?! Was it bumped to May?
I think out of the people I watch online, Brad may be the only one not to really get into the holiday spirit, what with the set decorations.
All I'm asking to see in your videos come October is some cheap cobwebs adorning the furniture and a fog machine. Go as cheesy as you want. Hell, I'll even donate to the cause.
Dammit Latza, he's not going to return your calls. Anyway, the move to LA should have dealt with you.
You gonna hate Violent Shitmas Special later this year then
No, no. The Halloween type movies are saved for January
Oh...crap... I remember this movie... My dad loves Saturday Night Fever and was pissed at the way this movie turned out. It's been 30 years and he still won't shut up about how shitty this was. I saw it out of curiosity and found it a bit depressing. I didn't realize Stallone directed this until years later. The 80's were not a good decade for Travolta. Well... at least he was in Blow Out and that is a great movie.
Yeah at least theres Blow Out. I like the opening song of this one though
And the Christmas movies are reviewed in May
Oh man i want to see this movie...yet to watch Saturday night fever the only part i've seen is he tried to rape the lady in the car
This movie looks fun =D
I've been waiting since you announced you'd be reviewing this film during your Two of a Kind review last year. And since then, I got the chance to watch Saturday Night Fever from start to finished, and NOT the TV edit version.
3:46- Please review Rhinestone, Brad. I've seen clips from that movie of Stallone singing, and it deserves to be reviewed by someone like you.
7:00- Yeah, I already knew about Sylvester Stallone's cameo in this movie.
The only other thing called Satan's Alley is the fake trailer in the beginning of Tropic Thunder, and the major difference between the two is that the play within the movie is not an erotic gay story.
24:15- At least this play doesn't suddenly end with Tony going in a spaceship to go on an interstellar search for alternative fuels.
If I want a movie that ends with a play, I'll stick with Black Swan, thank you very much.
I'm actually excited for this one, I feel like it's been a long time coming. Also I didn't realize this was a Stallone joint.
This reminds me of Norm MacDonald's bit about Stallone on Weekend Update. "Stallone, as you'll recall, won Academy Award in 1976 for 'Rocky', and once you give someone an Oscar..." shows a bunch of other movies Stallone wrote and directed, "you can never take it back."
I used to love when he would just reference Frank Stallone on Weekend update for no reason
Stallone and Frank Stallone, just saying.
Fame is well made, Even A chorus Line is well made. Staying Alive just shows Sylvester Stallone's worst points. Travolta is actually pretty good in it, but the film is basically baby oil and frowning. about painfully invented obstacles to some form of personal triumph.
Isn't Satan's Alley . the gay monk love story trailer in Tropic Thunder?
Mind you I love Cobra.
Aww Brad missed out mentioning Sly's SECOND Cameo in the movie! Excellent ep tho.
What was the second cameo?
Sly is in the Audience on the opening night.
You got some big laughs out of this one from me.
Favorite moment: the musicless strut.
The problem with this movie is that it didn't know whether it wanted to be a '70s movie or an '80s movie. The plot sounded like an '80s feel-good Ronald Reagan era-type movie, but the songs were still stuck in the '70s. "Satan's Alley" look more like a disco than any Hell I've seen represented. Sheesh!
Is there any chance of seeing you do 200 Motels or Forbidden Zone?
wow! i remember this movie, this was one of the first movies i ever saw in my life, since my mom loved it back when i was in kindergarden.
One of your first movies was filled with spandex-outlined dicks. Not bad.
And ladies in thongs.
When are you going to do Xanadu and Grease 2?
will there ever be reviews for the 1313 movies?
Lupa and NC did a review of one of DeCoteau's (under the name Mary Crawford) kids movies with Eric Roberts. It has more homosexual undertones than any of the 1313 movies. Not as gay as Gayracula, but still pretty gay.
What's even more awkward is the possible teenager involved with the undertones. Eugh. Oh whoops, I mean, eugh!?!
Very funny episode, I was staying alaugh.
"Because Mickey loves ya!"
YES!!! Excellent Rocky V reference FTW! I quote that line all the time. but no one EVER knows what I'm talking about. Yet another reason why I love you Brad.
Yay! I was watching the Midnight Screenings episode for "Saturday Night Fever" just the other day, and I wondered when this episode would finally be made. Also, I would have been incredibly annoyed if there had been no musical March (in September) after the "It's not September yet =)" comment on last week's video.
I can't even imagine doing all that exercise with long loose hair. It'd drive me crazy. How is it not dripping with sweat?
Yay Musical March (in September). Now if the Bros perform their own rendition of Satan's Alley this month will be perfect.
Brad: what are your views on the current refugee crisis in Europe? Do you believe Europe should kick them out and then build a big wall, or kick them out and then fill the Mediterranean with sea-mines?
Don't know what your problem with refugees is, but if you do kick them out, you should defend Europe with Jaegers instead of a big wall.
I think you should kick out everyone who wants either. The refugees are nothing compared to monsters like that.
It was a joke, guys. Every week I ask Brad a nonsensical question, and every week he demonstrates how amused and beloved my gaiety is by ignoring me completely. Anyway, I can tell by the particular quality of this week's silence that Brad is in favour of sea-mines. I can see in his eyes a desire to watch those poor souls go BOOM and fly 100 feet into the air on their little rubber dinghies. Brad is the real monster here.
I doubt Brad really gives a shit. Why continue with the stint if you don't get a response? It's pointless
I know he cares. I can tell. You can see it in his eyes when he's doing the review. He's looking right at ME. I love him.
Wait, so is this movie a bad Saturday Night Fever sequel, but a good movie, or is it just a bad film altogether?
It's a bad movie with an AMAZING Broadway show near the end.
Did anyone else think that this review should have featured the bros? Hope the bros come in sometime soon, 'cause chick bro is hot bro!
One of the bros broke the bro code bro
Of course, Chick Bro might break the Bro Code, too, but at least it'll be hot!
why there's a new bro
I really hope chick bro isn't her title; it's pretty uninspired. Just call her bro, or come up with a pun if you have to let people know that she's a woman and/yet a bro.
She's a bra.
Ya feel me bra?
Ooo, I like that. ^
One of the best episodes this season, Brad, very funny!
Loved Shaun's tittle card, btw.
Are you finally giving him his deserved piad-vacation? :P
So this movie has two actors from Beware the Batman... 30 years before Beware the Batman even came out. Pretty nice, that show's underrated as hell, but this movie seems to be pretty not good.
This was hilarious. The Cinema Snob keeps getting better and better.
I agree, I think this kid is going places!!
He should start one of those MySpaces accounts, I heard those are popular.
I am sorry to inform you that MySpace is Dead. It's been dead for some time now.
Red Foreman?! First he had to deal with Kelso impersonating Tony Manero, now he has to deal with Tony Manero impersonating Tony Manero!
Seriously, this Tony is a completely different character from Saturday Night Fever. I know that it's a Sly Stallone fanfic with himself put into Tony (hence the shy stammering here and there), but come on! Tony had a poster of Rocky in his bedroom in the first film!
Pretty tangent, but with the supposed theme of the movie, I can't help but think that The Bee Gees songs, "Love So Right" and "Nights on Broadway" (and maybe even "Love Me") seem like a better fit (albeit dated) for the movie sound track.
"Staying Awake" more like it!
Yes!!!! My theatre friends and I quote this movie all the time! We've always dreamed of adding the "Satans Alley" Fianle to a classic standard musical production. I love to imagine a Sunday matinee audience being exposed to this.
Dear producers of "Staying Alive",
UP YOUR NOSE WITH A RUBBER HOSE!!!
Get Justin Bieber to star in a "Saturday Night Fever" remake.
You can call it "Saturday Night Bieber"!
At least Frank Stallone wasn't anti-Russia in this film.
I hope Brad does a video based on that hysterical OJ Simpson Biopic from 95, next month is the 20th anniversary of his acquittal.
Also...may I say the CATS! reference is so accurate since Finola Hughes originated the principle role of Victoria (the white cat) in the Original London stage production.
21:10. I remember that level in Doom 2. If Travolta would just head to the right of the stage, he can get an armor and ammo for his rocket launcher.
Lol, that comment made my day
It seems like it's been forever since I've actually sat down, and watched a Snob episode on this site. I forgot how much of a unique, entertaining experience it is.
Actually... come to think of it, it hasn't been that long at all.
Huh. This episode must have a more 2013 Snob vibe to it.
I haven't even hit the play button. Had to head to the comment section with a big, fat YESSSSS! Thank u! U dah man! I love you!
That being said, I'm gonna go and watch your review. :)
Lousy Smarch weather
I wonder how this compares against the John Travolta and Jamie Lee Curtis Perfect!
Predictions for rest of month:
-Phantom of the Paradise
3 of the Above
@demonknight Agree - All of the above.
You're right, there are four Tuesdays this month, so there should be five episodes in total :)
Holy shit, was that really a Danny & Armi reference? I am not as surprised because you had "I Wanna Love You Tender" in the Russian Hobbit review, but I though that was just a reference to its fame as the worst music video ever.
As a Finn, that reference really tickles me in the right way. Good job, sir.
Quick! Someone call Spoony. Brad found Frank Stallone!
Hey "Staying Alive" producers,
UP YOUR NOSE WITH A RUBBER HOSE!!!
I got in SOOO much trouble when I said that to my dad when I was 7.
Some of the older archived videos of 2009 were brought over from the youtube account before thecinemasnob.com was created, so please forgive the lesser video quality of such as some did not transfer well.
