I don like fighthing in my Robot movies, why can't giant robots talk their problems like gentlemen robots do. Seriously movie sucks zero stars.
Id give it a worse rating.... - 5 Stars
That rating is reserved for TNA matches. At worst this was -3, maybe -4.
I thought mainstream scores only go down to 7/10, or is that just a video game thing?
Insert "Blip Isn't Working" complaint here.
Sorry Snob, but your Schwarzenegger impersonation is worse than Pat the NES Punk's! Because it makes sense for Arnold to sound like Dr. Strangelove!
Cut Pat some slack, he's usually busy complaining that anyone who uses a Rob robot is ripping off his shtick.
At least he was smart enough to kill off his ROB so we can still have Jake's!
The latest Transformers runs to 165 minutes (at least according to the BBFC), which is $1,000,000 per minute.
Sadly that planet Chicago joke would have a basis in the original series. Star Trek is weird sometimes.
Yeah, but at least Kat Dennings is adorable in Thor.
Oh man Kat Dennings is so fucking hot.
did you see those pictures of her boobies that got leaked?
Don Michael Paul is also responsible for the Steven Seagal movie "Half Past Dead" as writer and director.
I'm glad I'm finally getting ads again. I've been feeling like an asshole for over a year.
I had to check IMDB to see if Drake is the same guy as Back-Problems from "R.O.T.O.R.". It isn't--that guy was only in that one film--but his gritted-teeth delivery and general face shape gave me some flashbacks.
Awesome review Brad. However, permit me to be a tad snobbish. You spotlight a movie featuring Barbara Crampton and yet not one Re-Animator reference. Also (perhaps even more interesting), the movie features both Sato and Chozen from Karate Kid II and not one mention? (tisk, tisk)
I know right?!
C'mon Brad. Tsk Tsk indeed.
...and she didn't even go topless! What's up with that? I guess I gotta go watch "Re-Animator" again... Lucky me :)
Clearly the reunited Sato and his nephew Chozen stole the scorpion to hunt down and take sweet revenge on Miyagi and Daniel-san.
God I LOVE Robot Wars.
Back in the day when I was a kid, I actually liked it much more than Robot Jox.
THIS movie, not the Robot Jox (and NOT even Transformers), is what got me heavily interested in the mecha genre. It's thanks to Robot Wars that I actually started liking such cult anime series like VOTOMS, UFORG, Macross and (OF COURSE) Ninja MOTHERFUCKINGHOLYSHITBALLS Senshi Tobikage!
I actually never was (and never will be) a "Gundam"-person, I never really liked it, so I'm not including it.
I also didn't mention Voltron, since I got acquainted with it much later.
Robot Wars (alongside Ninja HOLYCRAPISTHISAWESOMEORWHAT Senshi Tobikage) is also what basically actually taught me how to really appreciate such games as Xenogears, not frowning upon their choosing in the way of how they present their design and overall visual style.
You never let me down snob.
I LOVE the picture for this episode! I would pay so much money to see a Cinema Snob shaped Jaeger kick a Kaiju's ass!!!
No the ultimate fight will be Cinema Snob piloting Giant Robo Snob vs. Neutro piloted by Dr. Insano.
Yes! Yes! Oh God Yes!
Is that a ninja the mission force poster by your chair? Something about it is oddly hypnotic which is weird since I've never even seen a single episode of it.
Chalk up another movie I've seen that you've reviewed. From what I remember of it, it's alright. That said, for the longest time I did forget that Jox and Wars were not the same movie. I think I watched Jox within the last few years expecting the doctor, who played the general here, to turn on the rest of them only to end up dead before he could turn on anybody.
I so want to see Space Mutiny get Snobbed. If Pod People can get the treatment, Space Mutiny can get it as well.
That or "Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone 3D".
Seriously... Molly Ringwald in a sci fi; What's not to love!
And it's in 3D!
Oh man, I love it. Thanks for throwing in that dig at 'Big Bang Theory'. Fuck I hate that show.
Even though you guys will be at the con when it comes out (I believe), is Jake still gonna see Earth to Echo?
I get the vibe you are upset about some upcoming movie, but I cant fathom which one.
Obviously, Brad is dreading tonight's midnight screening of Begin Again.
I am writing to you know as a humbled man. Due to my recent termination from Geek Juice Media, I see know the harm that I have caused to my faithful readers and why my being let go was something that had to be done for the future of Geek Juice.
I apologize for constantly talking about movies that I never saw and had no desire to ever see. Those 30 found footage movies that I mentioned were shit? I never saw them. I apologize for being dishonest. In the future I promise to try to see all of the movies that I rant and scream about. It is unprofessional of any website to host someone who constantly harps on movies that they've never seen, and I see that now.
I also apologize for all the lies that I told in my departure. TGWTG had nothing to do with my termination, and that's been proven, but that doesn't take away from the hurt that I caused people in leading them to believe TGWTG even knew who I was, let alone got me fired. In was a spur of the moment instance of dishonesty, and again, I apologize.
I also apologize for attack other internet personalities for disagreeing with me on a movie. I see how childish that was in retrospect, and I made it even more childish by lying about the content of their videos. People are allowed to have different opinions, and I should have stated mine without personal attacks, and without making up things that weren't in the reviews.
I've also lied about not using torrents, while saying several times that, yes, I do use torrents. I was in a rush to win an argument, and that was wrong. I have also ebegged my fans into giving me their hard earned money, only because I was too obsessed with internet life to get a job and support my family. That was irresponsible, and made me look hypocritical for attacking other people for ebegging.
I have also attacked people for using patreon, and given how I have my own patreon account, I apologize for the hypocrisy. I hope that the future brings a more honest Josh. I promise to finally see the movies before I give you my thoughts on them, and I promise to stop personally attacking people disagree with me, and for ruining professional relationships with my cohorts and their future business endeavors. I've been told that I have ethics. I don't, people, as I have clearly stated. But I will try to gain a trust in the future that is not only gained, but deserved.
Wahahahah, oh wow.
Josh, did you have one too many brewskis? Don't get yourself too down.
Stop impersonating Josh, little Timmy. Every time you do that (and other things), my dad kills a kitten and cries acid rain.
This film is Sato and Chozen from Karate Kid, Part 2 back and kicking ass with giant robots XD
I saw this movie recently for the first time and liked it, it's silly but good fun and I love the stop motion. 88films in the UK just released it so anyone over her thats wants to see it I can recommend this release.
Yeah, that title sequence hurts. It's long, drawn out and there's nothing interesting to look at. I'd rather have a black screen with faster moving credits. Robot Wars is typical of the more ambitious Charles Band productions, well meaning but woefully low-budget.
Holy crap, I actually watched the Robot Jox review just two days ago and after seeing the little preview for Robot Wars I was wondering if you'd ever do it.
Unfortunately it seems like the preview was way better (or at least more interesting) than the actual movie. Oh well, still made for a good video.
Good review as always. Although the jab at Big Bang Theory felt harsh. I've never heard them use a joke like that (some crotch humor yes, but not as much as Two and a Half Men), and I get that not everyone will like the show, but come on it's not nearly as bad as the last half of Two and a Half Men (which I felt had a decent start). Not even close. The characters aren't nearly as pathetic as Jon Cryer became as that show went on and Jim Parsons as Sheldon is brilliant. As for Kat Dennings in Thor, I thought she was funny and I think her purpose as to be a POV character for the science babble (a common trope in many movies). Still, a good review as always.
Translation: "Brad made a joke about something I like, therefore it went too far."
You know I coulda handled that a lot worse than I'm sure other people have on here of any comment section, but I didn't because I'm aware people like different things (which I pointed out in my comment). I still like the review as a whole, no need for you to be an asshole to me.
It was not harsh,at all,but it was funny. And if you cant handle something you like being made fun of,you should probably watch a lamer comedy show.Like big bang theory.Ha!See,even a fan of the show can make fun of it.
Seriously though, why bring up another show not mentioned in the review at all?Just because there are worse things than X does not mean X is good.Punching someone in the face isnt as bad as stabbing them with a knife, but that doesnt mean punching them is a good thing because of that.If you want to defend something, you should do it by pointing out its merits, not by comparing it with something that you think is worse.
Well, mainly because he's brought up Two and a Half Men as well, and in a DVDR Hell review he mentioned the two at some point. Either way, sure I shouldn't have said anything at all. I'm sorry for voicing an opinion. My apologies.
Well, mainly because he's brought up Two and a Half Men as well, and in a DVDR Hell review he mentioned the two at some point. I said it felt harsh, not was harsh. Either way, sure I shouldn't have said anything at all. I'm sorry for voicing an opinion. My apologies.
I didn't mean to post it twice. Oh well, I'm sure I'll get shit for that too.
Now now, That Geek, no need to bring out the Victim Card. Voicing an opinion about something in the video doesn't make you "off limits" for people to disagree with you.
The harshness of his comment to The Big Bang Theory left me in tears. I am only now able to compose myself enough to write this comment.
My God, when will Brad draw the line?
I normally don't favor the death penalty for "jokes", but this case is one clear exception.
Oh for fucks sake! Sorry for posting an opinion on the internet of all places. Because yeah, my comment is the absolute worst fucking thing I could've said to someone. Maybe I should get the death penalty for hanging an opinion that differs from others. And yeah I'll admit harsh was the wrong word to use, excuse the fuck out of me. I'm the worst fucking person for saying something so awful and despicable about another human being.
Hey That Geek. Stop playing the Victim Card! You are not immune to people responding to you. If you want to say something, grow some balls, and defend your side of the argument. Don't resort to "wahh waaaah, the big meanies are picking on me!" Not only do you lose the argument with the Victim Card, but you also lose everyone's respect.
Funny, I figured I already lost the respect. I wasn't trying to play the victim card (and I'm aware saying that makes it sound like I'm playing it but I'm really not). I'll admit that harsh wasn't the right word to use in my original comment, but at the time it's all I could think of and I'm sure we've all been there. And I know I shouldn't care that he doesn't like the show because to each their own after all. It's just a show I really do enjoy and I can get defensive when someone else makes jabs at things I enjoy even though I know it's nothing personal towards me. So I really am sorry I made any kind of remark there because it served no purpose to the comment and overall I still enjoyed the review. And I'm sorry for any unwarranted outbursts.
"Funny, I figured I already lost the respect. "
Then I wouldnt follow my joke with a seriously. That was a genuine piece of advice about comparing stuff. If you want to defend something(heck,if you want to argue anything),discuss its strengths, dont just throw comparisons to something you think is worse(even if it objectively is worse).
As for the victim card, that stems from you apologizing for your opinions.Dont do that. Its your opinion, and if someone doesnt like it,sucks to be them. They can either try to show you why you are wrong,or fuck off.Everyone is entitled to have opinions, but no one is entitled to never be called out on them or to not be offended by someone elses opinions.
Geek, your comment to me was really harsh.
Am I not allowed to post an opinion now?
I am crying again.
Aw! I'm sorry, I'd never wanna make a fan of Lloyd cry. HUGS That better? ^_^
You guys are so ridiculous to read. Let someone complain about someone complaining about a show they don't like. Don't be a hater hater, player! B)
"You guys are so ridiculous to read. Let someone complain about someone complaining about a show they don't like. Don't be a hater hater, player! B)"
How dare you complain about someone complaining about someone complaining about someone complaining about a show they dont like?
Don't be a player hater hater hater hater, hater hater! Bp
Whenever David Goyer does another big movie, you've go to do Demonic Toys. That's camptacular, including my favorite absolutely pointless character in film, random homeless girl.
What do people have against David Goyer, he's done great work like Call of Duty Black Ops 1 and Blade, just because he has ups and downs doesn't mean his entire career is bad. Just look at Man of Steel.
Yo, Robot Jox kicked ass, and I'm not saying that to be sarcastic. I genuinely like Robot Jox.
Robot Wars, I'm not so sure. It looks pretty boring. Plus, there are less Robots or Jox Straps than Robot Jox. Should I really watch this one?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXg4aywDkWc sorry to post this on here, but i dont see any recent "turkish" vids to post this on. Whats youre thoutghts on the song?
Not sure if you were doing it on purpose or not, to make fun of stereotypes, but I will mention it anyway. Those men weren't Chinese, they were Japanese.
Sorry Snob but this review doesn't do the film justice, try actually paying attention to it instead of trying to be snarky. Also way to enforce the stereotype of any Asian guy being Chinese, I've got one for you: American's can't usually tell a country's location or where someone's from.
When do we get the ultimate robot fight of Cinema Snob piloting Giant Robo Snob vs. Neutro piloted by Dr. Insano?
Wait, what!? You know who Lisa Rinna is, but you don't know or don't recognize Barbara Crampton (you called her "Blondy" in the video) ????????
And you call yourself a 80s Movie Fan??? The fuck!? :)
Your 80s movie cred just took a serious hit, my friend.
Although to be fair, this is most definitely NOT the movie you want to use to introduce the younger audience to miss Crampton and her work. I'll give you that. :)
I called her Blondie because I couldn't remember her character's name when I was writing my notes, and I just left it in.
Just because I don't reference something doesn't mean I don't know who a person is =) There wasn't really a place for me to put a Re-Animator joke. I didn't reference Half Past Dead either, even though I know Don Michael Paul made it.
I'vce seen him talk about a lot of Stuart Gordon movies and this is a watered down offshoot, but it still has Barbara Crampton. . . Has Brad ever even mention how hot her tits are?
They showcase Barbara Crampton's boobs in every movies she's in, and it's usually the best part of the movie.
Um, Star Trek IV took place on the planet San Fransisco...
"San Francisco, I was born there." =)
Man, this is one of those movies I remember seeing in the local video store (which at the time was part of the Ritz Video chain before they got bought out by Blockbusters) when I was just a little kid perusing the shelves with my dad on a Friday evening. In fact I remember asking him If I could watch this movie because I thought the robots on the cover looked so awesome and I seem to remember that he rented it but for some reason wouldn't let me watch it. Maybe he didn't want "Drake" as a role model for his son.
Damn it, Brad, don't tempt me with Chopping Mall and then not deliver!
I'm surprised there wasn't a One Must Fall: 2097 reference!
I'm surprised you know what that even is.
Some of the older archived videos of 2009 were brought over from the youtube account before thecinemasnob.com was created, so please forgive the lesser video quality of such as some did not transfer well.
