For a moment, I thought this was another Village People movie.
I WANT TO BE A CINEMA SNOB-
@4:10: "Gefängniss....Er ist zurück! Der Mann hinter der Maske!"
Snob: Hey Dany, Jesus Bro!
i'm the real jesus
So this isn't a porno? The picture says more than the movie
If you're in for more testosterone macho man fighting I recommend Death Promise. It's a combination of Lethal Games crossed with kung fu
That guy with the briefcase...I guess after the royalties from "Tender Is the Night" ran out, Jackson Browne became a crimelord. Makes sense.
This doesn't actually look too bad. Early/mid 80s without being too cheesy.
For some reasons one of my favourite reviews of the last time :D
Thanks for all the laughs or should I say: Danke!
The funniest part is I'm pretty sure everyone in this movie is dubbed. At least some of the voices are the same ones that did the dubs for cheap porn in the 80s.
Not that I've ever watched cheap porn from the 80s, of course.
Yup! All of the main "actor's" lines were replaced by people who dubbed everything low-to-no budget like from serious arthouse to porn and silly kung fu movies at the time.
Well it certainly is not René Wellers own voice. And I´m pretty sure I recognize it as the guy who often does people like Michael Dudikoff and Steven Segal though I´m not quite sure.
Also I seem to recognize some other famous dubbing voices of that era (and today in part).
Why does that movie seem so familiar? Has it been featured on SCHLEFAZ a while back?
No, it hasn't been featured on SchleFaZ yet.
Right, I just remembered what I confused that with.
Last season they showed "Ich ein Groupie" where famous german pimp (thoug that might not be the word he´d use) Rolf Eden was also dubbed (probably due to his inability to act because he was the only one to be dubbed).
When they showed it on Schlefaz it caused a mild uproar with audiences last year because what starts out as a dumb and only mildly sleazy sexploitation flick unexpactedly takes a dark turn when Edens character takes 22year old leading actress Ingrid Steeger home, drugs and rapes her.
Maybe you can suggest that one when the next opportunity comes up, because that would be definitly one for the Snob!
Wow, the presence of so much exciting action, testosterone fuel, & kick-butt 80's synth score makes my girlhood tremble...with utter exuberance! :D As a chick who loves both action movies & New Wave dearly, this film would be perfect to add to my DVD collection! ^_^ The only question is, where can I find it for a reasonable price? ^^;;
Also, for the record, I think Geraldo still looks pretty good...but he'd look even better if he still had his poofy 70's hair from his "Willowbrook" days... ;-) After all, old-school hairdos make everything sexier! *can't stop staring at young Malcolm McDowell & his page-boy cut*
P.S.: Dear Cinema Snob, I sent you an E-mail with a list of several recommendations for your show. :-) By any chance, did you receive & read it?
So, it's René Weller against a gang of "eeeevil" drug dealers? The same Weller who went to jail for cocaine dealing later on?
Fun facts: Weller sued the producers of this masterpiece to have his sex scenes removed from the flick. Bea Fiedler (the blonde) unsuccessfully tried to squeeze some sweet early retirement funding out of Grace Kelly's son, Prince Albert II of Monaco, by claiming he was the father of her son and turned herself into laughing stock because it was pretty much public consensus at the time that the he was an "eligible bachelor".
Oh mein Gott! Ich hätt im Leben nicht gedacht dass der Snob Macho Man reviewt!
Macho Man 2: Make Germany great again!
I'm totally shocked (in a good way) about your review of "Macho Man", being a longtime fan of yours and now having been confronted with this! "Macho Man" is a curiosity of the region I live and indeed it enjoys an annual run at a local theatre. Lots of fun with a drunken crowd! I hope you will also do a review of the crowdfunded sequel "Macho Man 2" that's coming up. It never can be as "good" as the original of coarse, being the time capsule that it is alone and with all its unintentional "greatness" but hey, who knows! The director, Davide Crisolia, is a young guy and damn I'm jealous of him. By the way you can see him in this added picture kneeling on the bottom:
The reason showing you this is not him though. There in the center is a nice grandpa who has a cameo in the new flick. And it's indeed Ruggero Deodato. That's crazy! I'm the guy with glasses and the cap besides him by the way. So you should do a review too. ;)
Another great German WTF-ploitation flick is "Brut des Bösen" by a guy who is actually famous in Germany for having been a shmaltzy "Schlager"-Singer from the 70ies and batshit crazy even today: Christian Anders. He did a lot of weird shit. For example producing, directing and acting in his own exploitation-movies. Having seen so many videos of yours over the years now I'm actually not sure if you already had him on your Snob- or any other format. But in case you haven't, please check out his stuff.
That's all. Love the work you do and hope for another Brad Jones written (and directed) movie sometime as I really enjoyed "Paranoia". It's a perfect fit for Halloween. So keep it up.
I'll stick with Randy "The Macho Man" Savage, thank you very much.
2:03- I recently watched the original uncut version of Das Boot with the audio set from German to English, and the subtitles turned off, because I don't want to do that much reading in a 5 hour movie.
5:58- Nowadays, whenever I see a bank robbery scene in a crappy movie, it makes me wish I was watching the opening scene to The Dark Knight.
Nice job on the Passengers joke.
13:57- Sylvester Stallone SHOULD be in a Transformers movie.
16:36- Wow. This is a good way for a movie to leave the plot.
18:12- HOLY SHIT, I was also thinking that. Out minds are so dirty.
Some of the older archived videos of 2009 were brought over from the youtube account before thecinemasnob.com was created, so please forgive the lesser video quality of such as some did not transfer well.
