Wow. That's two snob videos in nearly as many days. Are you trying to wear yourself out?
Sweet, another Snob episode so soon.
Come on, Blip, my food is ready and I want to watch NOW
Damn you blip, making me all excited for a new snob and then telling me the video is not ready yet.
Knowing that Lou is usually dubbed (because of his deafness), I do think they did a better job than oftentimes happens.
Fun stuff, particularly like the Insano running gag and not immediately rushing to Hulk jokes like a lot of people would. Kept hoping for some random Cage clips but eh.
"Hercules and Circe cross the rainbow bridge into Hell".
That's three different religions! Not to mention the enormous mash-up of every single Greek hero myth possible. And the giant robots.
And yet this is still more accurate than "The Legend of Hercules". At least this movie uses actual mythology.
Also, the colors of the "rainbow bridge" (bifrostos?) are in the wrong order! How difficult can it be to get the colors in the right order?
Sometimes I think they just didn't care.
Did he really get all the way through the Hercules review without mentioning something from Disney's Hercules? I am slightly disappointed, even though I barely remember that movie.
The whole "cleaning the stables" thing was one of Hercules' twelve labors from Greek Mythology, so I'll give this movie credit for that one.
I was kind of hoping it would include the story of the invincible lion that Hercules choked to death, then skinned it in order to make invincible armor.
Wait, Lou Ferrigno played the Hulk AND Hercules?! What range! JOKE! I love Lou, how can not?
Also, Snob/Brad I have a problem. I got "The Exterminator" recently & while I very much enjoyed it, as you must know it ends abruptly. I know there's a part 2 but I figured it was just another sub-par sequel & not a literal continuation!
So, should I track down 2 or what? What do you recommend o' wisest Snob of Cinema. . . (ominous music playing. . . )
Exterminator 2 still stars Ginty, but it's much more of a campier Cannon type film than the first one was. If you're a fan of Ginty and a fan of the first film, it's worth it for some entertainment. It isn't a fraction as good as the first one, but it's good in an "I stumbled upon this at 3 in the morning" kind of way.
If this is some jokester replying, I'm not laughing.
If it's really Brad Jones himself replying, well then. . .
OMG! Thank you so much for responding!
I'll try & find part 2 eventually, keep up the great work. YOU ROCK!
P.S-Sorry to sound like pre-teen dip queen, but if you could tell my brethren in anger "HI"! that'd be bit chen!
Im pretty sure thats Brad because the comment name has a grey bar instead of a black one.
How can you not. Sorry!
Just finished watching (fill in porn title here) . . . got distracted ; p
I cannot wait for the new Hercules movie to come out.
The Rock was born to be Hercules.
Hey Brad, how come every time when you do a Snob episode a new movie comes out? The film studios must be really desperate because they've done this a lot so far this year, like, 5 times or somethin'. Makes me concerned. Very concerned.
You have a good deep narrator voice. Narrate more stuff.
THIS IS ALL GOLD!
That bear scene made me laugh for a full 10 minutes
I can't stop laughing at some of the stuff that happens in this.
"YOU'RE MOTHER'S IN DANGER!"
Wait a minute... I think I once saw that fight with the robo horse on TV once when I was just blicking channels. wow I forgot all about this movie.
It's still better than the Disney version!
This is on, if not the top of, my list for favorite good/bad movies.
It's right up there with Deathstalker 2 and the "Aces go places" (aka Mad Mission) series.
I still state to this day that Lou is a far better and more believable Hercules than Kevin Sore-bones ever was.
BTW... There was supposed to be a boat load of sex and nudity in the film but Lou refused, saying that ha wanted this film to be suitable for kids. He a Sybil Danning did NOT get along during the making of this film.
I'm surprised you didn't make the Peter Venkman joke.
"It's true. This man has no dick."
...Maybe it was low hanging fruit after all.
2 snob episodes in 1 week?Sweet.
I hope the new Hercules movie has space moon gods.
Wo, two cinema snob in a week,Over an hour of free entertainment, you're spoiling us Brad.
When I saw the amazing bear tossing scene, I can't help but think about the equally amazing hang gliding bat scene from Yor. And then immediately after that, BOOM! Spoony as Insano clip. It's like you've read my mind! When will someone actually make an Insano music video to that awesome Thomas Dolby song? The two go together like peanut butter and jelly!
I'm thinking about checking out the new Hercules. Not sure if it'll be good, but definitely a million times better than that other Hercules movie we got a while back!
If I had any artistic talent, I would draw Yor and Ator crashing into each other on their hang gliders.
There was this really bad Hercules TV movie by Hallmark. I was in a mood for watching something hilarious so it actually did its job..
Sorry, but there's only one Hercules in my book and that's Kevin Sorbo.
Need help remembering, please. I THINK I remember a Hercules movie where, at the end of the movie, the final fight between Hercules and the bad guy is going on. During the middle of the fight, they suddenly ascend into space, get turned into what kind of look like constellations, and continue fighting. It sounds like the ravings of a madman, and and it's kind of vague, but I want to find out the movie.
I think this is the one you were talking about:
I wouldn't be surprised if the Snob reviews it next week!
Thanks, but weird. That looks like it, and I honestly had no idea it was that closely connected to the latest review.
Also, gotta give props to whoever is playing King Minos. Looks like he is really enjoying his role, like James Coburn from the Mel Gibson movie Payback.
I'm not gonna lie. This movie looks really, really, REALLY fun. When the best looking Hercules stuff is the Disney movie and the series + Xena, Hercules becomes a thing you can't make boring.
Wayne's World theme and "Here comes Sybil and her two girls. AND her two servants!"
BTW are we ever going to get closure from Brad's role in the Bloodrayne review? I feel incomplete.
Speaking of imcomplete. I was promised +!+s! How come the only +!+s I saw were Lou Ferrigno's?! Not that they were firm, but they're not exactly my kinda thing.
Lou's were bigger than Sybils anyways
...did I just see Iorveth become King Arthur? Well THERE'S a path I didn't discover in Witcher 2.
And luckily for you, Snob, there is also the constellation of Ursa Minor, so dessert is comin' right up! C'mere, Teddy Ruxpin, it's time to play "Los Locos"!
I met Lou Ferigno a while back and got to talk with him briefly. He was a nice enough guy, but he was visibly annoyed when I didn't want to buy a copy of his book. What was I going to do with a $25 hardback book full of muscly, oiled-up dudes? Besides, my roommate already owns a copy.
Anyways, I didn't make Hulk angry, but I did unintentionally annoy him somewhat.
I miss the days of snob videoes that was under 20 minutes. I rarely finish these. I feel the same way about thenostalgiacritic: love him, but too long videoes.
You obviously have a short attention span. Brazilian Star Wars was only a week or two ago and was only 14 minutes.
If he made them shorter, people would bitch about them being too short. Sorry dude, can't always get what you want.
Sometimes I need to take a break, not because I get bored but regardless.
So I write down the time on a notepad that I stopped and I'll finish it later. Or if I don't need to use the computer's resources for a bit I just hit the pause button and get back to it later.
I do the same thing with podcasts.
I'm assuming the comment about those two people who saw the new Hercules was a vitriolic stab at CinemaSins. I love ya Brad, but seems like you've got some resentment issues.
Insulting your betters cliché. *ding*
That was a reference to our Midnight Screenings reviews.
I don't watch CinemaSins, and have no idea if they do videos in a car or not
Dude, it was a joke about the Midnight Screenings reviews. Brad and Brian reviewed Legend of Hercules in the car.
Commenter not catching the reference and getting snarky about it cliche. Ding.
So now that youve mentioned it,when will you do the wishmaster?Because it has some really hilarious scenes in it(in the very beginning even, with that moronic wish).
A shame there's no vampire movie coming out. I want to see Brad review the Tobe Hooper classic Lifeforce.
To be fair, this is still a less crazy origin of the Bear constellation than what the actual story was.
Why when he threw the log into space did I immediately think "Now some aliens are going to teach it how to talk to whales and send it back in the 23rd century"?
better than me! I can't watch him tossing that bear without thinking up Yuri Gagarin references
Yeah... I kind of unironically love this movie... Hercules throwing a bear into space, a thrown-rock-powered-chariot and the rainbow fire sword are still hilariously awesome.
He threw a bear so hard, it became a constellation. Am I the only one that thinks that might actually have been an written feat of Herculean myth? This movie might be more faithful to Classical mythology than you think.
Jesus, what's with Lou's fetish for bear-chucking? Between this and the Incredible Hulk I'm convinced the bear from Grizzly 2 wasn't in that film for fear of possibly getting tossed into orbit!
This movie (and its sequel) was well-watched and well-loved in my childhood. The music, the costumes, the cheesy FX, and weird sound FX! I squealed with delight seeing you're reviewing a movie that is precious to me. Great review! Maybe some day you'll do the second one? The dubbing is even "better."
Perhaps at 9:30 it was the bear from La bete.
"And then Public Access Television Was Born"
I can't wait to see the Snob review the sequel now, I had it taped off TV as a kid and still own that VHS. Watch out for the nip slip during the Spider Queen fight. Look close when Herc is choking her on the rope web, you may get to use the black bar yet!
I didn't know Hollywood (Italy) could make the God/space sequences from Clash Of The Titans and Diamonds Are Forever look like Kubrick by comparison.
Nice Scrooged reference, although I'm saddened you didn't make a King Randor joke or throw in a clip of Arnold as Hercules beating a bear.
Circe the sorceress sells seashells by the shore.
"Look at that... that's not a REAL Hercules". I've been laughing about that the entire day.
I loved this film. Seriously, this is one of my favorite schlock films of all time. I loved the dumb sets and the hilariously bed special effects.
I also liked Krull.
Aaawww, the cutest little Hercules ever! Look at him, chewing on his sleeve! >3<
Surprised you didn't mention Contamination among Cozzi's other films (Which I hope to see reviewed soon... :P)
@6:14 Looks like Zantoro found his way out that elevator and into some nazi zombie-esque time machine/teleporter.
As someone who's lived in Wyoming, I loved that joke. I it's highly accurate too.
Nothing can top the 1958 version of Hercules with Steve Reeves, though.
I went to lunartruth.com, AND THERE WASN'T ANYTHING THERE!
Some of the older archived videos of 2009 were brought over from the youtube account before thecinemasnob.com was created, so please forgive the lesser video quality of such as some did not transfer well.
