Hooray! I'll try to watch it after my next class and a trip to the library. As of this comment, the video link isn't in the post, so it's good that I have to wait.
Well, provided you cover the entire franchise, including Freddy vs. Jason, the 2009 reboot, and the 2017 sequel, you'll be done with the series by December 2019.
Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (1988): May 2016
Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989): January 2017
Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993): October 2017
Jason X (2001): April 2018
Freddy vs. Jason (2003): July 2018
Friday the 13th (2009): September 2019
Friday the 13th: Jason Returns (2017): December 2019
Thanks, I was actually curious about this!
Chrissakes, those are some over-the-top nut-bag cops. Nice 'shoot first, think later' methods .... probably working in Baltimore and Texas now.
Jason should have finished his Origami lessons .... the sheriff was THIS CLOSE to being folded into a crane....
Yes, and only 999 more and he would have gotten his wish.
Seriously Brad, why do you hate the Sleepaway Camp sequels? Not to say that I'm particularly fond of them, but you seem to have a special ire for them? I understand hating the 4th one, but why 2 and 3? They seemed to have the same tongue and cheek attitude Friday part 6 had
You can say the same thing with Return to Sleepaway Camp.
Seriously, Part 2 is awesome
That's probably because you weren't really supposed to root for Jason, or find him sympathetic, he never talked with a really annoying voice while saying holier-than-thou bullshit and the Friday the 13th movies are a lot more creative.
I read on your Twitter feed that you'll be doing Christmas-themed Snob episodes this December including Saving Christmas! Not to raise too much speculation, but will it be another crossover, a review with lots of cameos, or just a regular review entirely? I'm just worried what would happen if Kirk "Mr. Crazy" Cameron finds out about it!
Brad doesn't rely on cameos as much as other reviewers, so I'd be surprised if it wasn't just a regular review. Regardless, it. Will. Be. Amazing.
You could probably make a pretty strong case for Jason going to Heaven. If he died before he reached the Age of Accountability... that's where he should end up.
Not sure if you noticed, but at least two of the times that you cut to the credits there is a short audio clip of you saying "jail" at the beginning.
What are the timecodes?
23:31 was the one I got. It was towards the end of the review with a close up on Jason's eye.
It appears that there's only one time where that happens which is at 23:28. I thought it happened around the time of the RV crash, but it didn't on my second play through. Anyways, I also noticed another audio "glitch" at around 7:56-7:57. There sounds like a jump in the dialogue to mid-sentence starting with "baditude" or "bad attitude". Not sure which as happens kinda fast for me.
I thought that was an inside joke from a previous review
All of the footage from The Geek review is out of sync by about half a second. Though, if you ask me, I'd keep in the "jail" bits. It's like you're reciting some kind of bizarre mantra and it's oddly amusing.
I used to edit on the same version of Pinnacle that (I think) Brad uses. Pinnacle sure likes to knock audio out of sync from time to time.
The last few weeks have been pretty difficult for me, so I really enjoyed this episode. I had several laugh-out-loud moments, and was very happy about the "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" joke. It was a good episode to help me get back into the swing of normal life, so thanks. A lot.
Don't feel bad about this series. I hear part 8 finally answers whether Jason can leave the woods.
By any chance, have you seen Happy Birthday to Me? I caught it during Halloween and thought it would be a good choice for your show.
Ah, the one with the credit card joke.
Didn't post this on Friday the thirteenth. Boo, zero stars!
Thank you so much for finally tacking this one Brad, it's my absolute favorite and I've been itching for this review for quite some time now.
Man, I love these movies.
I remember this movie being mentioned in 'The Geek' review. It's taken a long time to get here since then.
...jail. :roll credits:
leave that in Brad.
Why do I get the feeling that's going to be in the ten best moments special next month? Maybe even number one?
You know what's weird is I can remember off the top of my head the number one for each year:
2009: No Easy Way Out for that Aussie martial arts movie.
2010: Naked porch dancing.
2011: Punching Lupa.
2012: That's a dick!
2013: Monkees rape.
2014: Forced Bro-job.
And now, the best moment of 2015: ...jail.
Dude, good guess
This is my personal favorite of the series. Arguably part 4 is the best, but I love the sense of humor in this one.
I was loading up my final bowlpack, refreshed your page, and grinned like a son of a bitch when I saw the thumbnail for this. The fact it's my favorite Friday film sweetens it.
Is it just me or does Thom Mathews look strangely similar to Matt Smith in this movie?
"Didn't anyone ever tell you, Jason? There's one thing you never put in a trap. If you're smart, if you value your continued existence, if you have any plans about seeing tomorrow, there's one thing you never, ever put in a trap. Me!"
Dammit. Now instead of making that Friday the 13th CRPG I always wanted to do I now want to write DOCTOR WHO VERSUS JASON. Thanks a lot!
As I watched this episode, I could help but reminded of another J who was tormented and who died and who was resurrected. But unlike Jason this J did not [ick up a machete. He turned the other cheek because he was the Lord!
Duuuuuuude.... you just like totally blew my mind. You're talking about Lord Jellicoe right? Awesome.
Hooray! This is by far my favorite of the Friday the 13th movies.
Jason needs about tree-fiddy
He's Back. He's the man behind the mask and he's out of control.
And he crawled out of his hole.
It took me 5 minutes into this review to realize I had already seen this video on Patreon.
I can't stand the Karloff Frankenstein. Because of that movie, everyone thinks my favorite novel is about a hulking inarticulate brute with neck bolts instead of a meditation on what it means to be human, the depths of obsession, and science vs nature.
Oh, sorry, this is a Jason movie. Um, might be funny?...I guess?
Indeed it was Scream like, there is even David Arquette at 17:13.
Brad, please stop reading your Youtube comments. No good comes of it. By far, my least favorite F13 movie. But at least that guy from Return Of The Living Dead was in it.
no puedo dejar de decir : Jaiil!
i cant stop to say: Jaiil!
your are cute Cinema Snob
Some of the older archived videos of 2009 were brought over from the youtube account before thecinemasnob.com was created, so please forgive the lesser video quality of such as some did not transfer well.
