This begs for the Blacksploitation epic, "The Avenging Disco Godfather", to get a nice, deep-voiced review.
"Where's Bucky, and WHAT HAS HE HAD?!"
Disco Godfather is sooooooo much better than Dolemite.
PUT YOUR WEIGHT ON IT!
Please review Black Dynamite.
This is one of my favorite episodes. The unique charm & humor of Snob is on full display here & the film (from what we see) seems to be a lot of fun. Especially whenever Dolemite starts one of his loud angry long winded insults!
On a personal note, inadvertent or not I laughed when "Fail Us" (clever name riff! 5 points!) got shot. . . teach you to diss Child's Play!
Terrific episode, Sir Snob! Though as much as I looooooove the Jack Napier reference, I thought he looked more like a young Patrick Bateman, but maybe it's just me . . .
...The corrupt mayor, who was also in Hack-O-Lantern, had the minor role of Taffey Lewis in Blade Runner. Aka my favorite movie of all time. Huh.
19:19- Thanks for reminding me of Guardians of the Galaxy, Brad.
Oh my God, this movie. Woman beating being freely condoned? The police chief outright murdering the head villian? Talk about lack of due process. Talk about the total absence of deserving and receiving a fair trial. Everyone in the civilized world is entitled to a fair trial. Even the top Nazis got their day in court. But this movie and it's characters didnt exist in the real world, that much is obvious. And it was the 70s. Vigilantism was the new popular thing. Hell, the Death Wish series proved that. Anyway, the Snob was funny with his riffing of this, but the general message was disgusting and contemptable. And no, it wasn't because it had a predominently black cast. Any movie with people of any race who do these things piss me off. After all, when due process fails us, we really do live in a world of terror. I'll step off my soapbox now.
So the black preacher has guns in his closet?
If the woman had guns in her closet in War Room, that movie would have been a hell of a lot shorter.
Awesome is back onnnnnn
