Brad, has Blip been fucking up lately? I cant tell how long videos are because all it says on the bottom is Advertisement playing. Do you know whats going on?
I keep having the same problem. Blip doesn't have what I need.
You say YouTube's just a friend... but you say YouTube's just a friend.
I sent this problem in to the support center, usually they get things cleared up. Not sure why it's doing that. This episode is about 19 minutes.
It isn't just your videos. It's been happening on other Blip accounts too, but it seems random. Sometimes it works fine. Sometimes it messes up.
Aye it's been happening to me all the time now too. Hopefully they get it sorted soon because it's starting to really bug me now.
Great review though anyhow!
I hope this problem gets fixed soon Mr. Snob.
The videos work fine for me on the blip.tv website. Its whenever I watch the reviews here or on ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com does that happen to me. I think it something with blip.tv's update to their video/ad software.
Your site is one of only a handful that I turn my adblock off for since I think it prevents you from earning revenue but I still rarely see ads. Is this another problem or the same one?
That's been going on for days now. A bloody nuisance.
Since this problem started, I've just been going to the blip account. Until it gets fixed on this site, you can see the play time and skip ahead if you need to.
This is actually the first video in a while where I'm not having this issue. Hopefully it stays that way.
Who cares? You got something else to do?
When will you review Boss Nigger (1975) ??
Classic blacksploitation movie!
What would be the point? He wouldn't be able to say the title of the movie.
Guest Irving cameo? Eh? Eh?
Mister X cameo, so he can say the name of the movie
The DVD title is just Boss.
Why wouldn't he be able to say nigger?
> Why wouldn't he be able to say nigger?
For the same reason he can't show sex, nudity, or particularly graphic violence. Brad may or may not care on a personal level, but Blip, TGWTG, and the advertisers who make all this possible have standards to maintain.
Cinema Snob: Boss...erm...that's your cue.
(Irving pops into frame with giant grin on face)
Also, Irving once was able to get away with saying the n-word on Blip, though it was during his much more serious 12 Years a Slave review.
He could just make it "Boss Nogger" and then make it a Brad Tries crossover where he reviews one movie and two icecreams.
Yes PRETTY PLEASE review Boss Nigger!!!
I am such a tool.
It's not nice to call Brad that, we all know he's a hammer
Oh come on, this is one of my favorite movies, how could you be so cruel.
Never been very interested in westerns. The only western I've ever seen in its entirety is "Blazing Saddles", honestly, and that's barely a western.
Does anyone know any must-see films that can get me interested in westerns, new or old?
What you did there. I see it.
Silverado is a good movie.
High Noon and The Searchers are justifiably famous. Go with the latter to see the deepest, most morally-ambiguous John Wayne movie, and see the former if you want to see the most perfect "man alone against the world" story. Two classics from the Golden Age of Westerns.
It's a western comedy! :-)
As far as recommendations I myself haven't many but you really can't go wrong with one of Eastwood's films.
Few of my favorites are Hang 'Em High, High Plains Drifter, Outlaw Josey Wales & of course Unforgiven.
I've never sat through the "man with no name" trilogy, they're soooooooo long.
Then again, I prefer Jack Nicholson's Joker to Heath Ledger's so what the hell do I know? :-p
I'm so sorry, I mis-typed. I meant to say "I myself haven't SEEN many but. . ."
Hate when that happens, sorry again!
Oh & I didn't type "I am such a tool" above. Very funny, guy. Everyone thinks I think I'm a tool, happy?
High Planes Drifter is one of the only good westerns. I pretty much am bored by westerns in general, but this is one of my favorite movies.
Stagecoach and Broken Trail(tv miniseries) are good. Also, Once upon a time in the west.
hang em high
the dollars trilogy (considered one of the best trilogies ever, contains Fistfull of Dollars, for a few dollars more, and the good the bad and the ugly)
once upon a time in the west (Spiritual sequel to the dollars trilogy)
Trigun (anime series)
Trigun badlands rumble (anime movie)
Outlaw star (anime series)
the wild bunch
Duck you sucker
3:10 to Yuma
Quick and the dead
Red Dead Redemption (video game)
Fallout New Vegas (video games)
Borderlands 1 and 2 (video game)
True grit (both versions)
Lonesome dove (long ass miniseries/ super movie)
Deadwood (HBO series)
Hell on Wheels (AMC series)
Outlaw Josey Whales (considered to be one of the best films ever made)
The shakiest gun int he west (don knotts comedy)
the magnificent 7 (7 samurai remake)
No country for old men
high plains drifter
Bonanza (tv series)
Gun smoke (tv series and movie)
there is a western for everyone, be it classical western, revisionary, scifi and space western, contemporary, spaghetti, ect.
Wow, that is an impressive list. Thanks!
Which Quick and the Dead are you referring to? There are 2 of them. The 1 with Sam Elliott based on a Louis Lamour novel or the Sam Raimi film with Sharon Stone?
Don't forget "Tombstone" (1993) & "Wyatt Earp" (1994)! :D Also very great Westerns! ^_^
Outlaw Star is my favorite anime of all time.
Tombstone is one of my top 10 favorite movies of all time.
Westerns can be awesome.
@ben Davis: Both quick and the dead's are fine, but the raimi one is a lot more fun.
and yes, i forgot the tombstone movies.
also The assaination of jesse james and the Heitfield and mcCoy miniseries.
Hell on Wheels is amazing! It's a TV show about the building of the railroad in the 1860s. It's in its fourth season on AMC.
Brad, I nearly snorted beer out of my nose at the Robert Mitchem/Burt Reynolds one-two.
Ah yes. Good old Spaghetti Westerns. I'm not really into the Western genre all that much, but Spaghetti Westerns grab my attention. Loved Tarantino's last Spaghetti Western homage, Django Unchained. It will be interesting to see what he does for The Hateful Eight.
I better get back to work on that Western-movie review show before my idol reviews all the good ones.
I like tarintino, i didnt like Django Unchained
and i cant say im looking forward to Hateful 8
i am looking forward to "The Salvation" with Mads Mikkelsen
and a cuthroats 9 remake is sure to be fun, along with bone tomahawk
hopefully A million Ways to Die in the west didnt kill westerns
A Red Dead Redemption reference?
There is a high five waiting for you over the Atlantic.
So the next one youll do is oceans 13,right?I mean first it was 5,then 9,so 13 should follow.Or are you going to go for the middle with blakes 7?
I absolutely love the title card. Nice reference to Red Dead Redemption. That game is amazing. I kinda wish you would do more Western Films I love that genre so much. Thanks man
Never been a Tarintino fan. I'm not being snobbish about it, just never found much appeal to his movies. Although the kenetic typography of the 'english mother fucker do you speak it' posted on youtube a while back makes me laugh every time.
Does this guy even make videos anymore? It's September 2 already and still nothing new.
You guys used to laugh at me and make fun of me for my opinions and for wearing adult diapers. Well, last night I shit myself in my sleep. Who's laughing now?
This movie looks kinda great, and the effects you have shown are quite nice too.I gotta check it out sometime.
Nice review Mr Snob.
This is totally one of those movies you watch very late at night and rifftrax with friends.
I thought you were serious when you said Powers Boothe was in it. I almost wanted to see it. Because anything Powers Boothe (The Powers that be) is in is worth watching, Very underrated actor.
Also to note I have used the name LloydFan a few times so please do think all Lloydfan comments are from the guy above.
Whatever, I am the real true LloydFan. I know more about Lloyd than probably anybody on this site. I bet you didn't even know his birthday or his favorite kind of kibbles. One day Lloyd and I will get married and then you'll see.
Dude, I totally agree with you about Powers Boothe on every level! :D Such a wonderful, talented, awesome, & woefully-underappreciated actor...& incredibly sexy, to boot! ^_^ (Even at 66, he's still oozing with schmexiness... :D But listen to me ramble! ^^;; )
"You gonna shot him with a machete, big guy?"
Really, Snob? REALLY? You obviously don't get it. It's a Gunblade!
P.S. Gunblades are actually a real, existing thing.
I couldn't tell whether Brad actually liked this movie or not. I'm not sure I cared for it it went out of its way to be as over the top in its grimness and violence as possible sort of like some sort of exploitation fi- oh, wait a second...
Looks like a fun movie actually.
Brad you should do Lady Snowblood.. Considering it's basically the blueprint for Kill Bill.. And one of the bloodiest samurai films :)
Why want to know about shitty food as a vegan? To live vicariously. P.s. Most of my kind are morons, you may have dodged one there.
Whoops, meant that for the SciFi Speed Dating bit.
It's really sad when most of the comments are people complaining about blip not working and not about the actual video, just goes to show you that people don't care.
A free Terror Mask with every viewing? Hot shit! Now I can free my girlfriend from the Splatterhouse and look as beefy as Hodder playing Jason X.
My favorite western is still "The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr." =Þ
"The Hateful Eight"? Oh my fucking god what a hack that fuckhead is
Some of the older archived videos of 2009 were brought over from the youtube account before thecinemasnob.com was created, so please forgive the lesser video quality of such as some did not transfer well.
