I miss the theme music. Also, obligatory first.
Is this Brazil's revenge for failing in the Soccer World Cup?
Maybe yes... the 1974 World Cup (those damm Dutches...)
The plural of that is just Dutch.
Maybe yes... the 1974 World Cup (those damm Dutches)
Hahahaha, thats from all the dutch people :)
Oh Snob Your Subtitles Always Crack me up :)
Loved the Fake Josh reference. Still the only good Hadley related thing on the web.
Remind me to send you a barrel of my soon to be patented Monkey See Monkey Brew.
No need to thank me. Your smile says it all.
I can't say what's the worse use of the classic line, Tom Felton or Michael Clarke Duncan. But it does make me say to myself, I should watch the original again.
Also, I wonder who should review Ed?
If anyone's reviewing "Ed", they should review "Kangaroo Jack" first! I've been asking Rob Walker about that movie for months.
I tend to like almost everything, so this looks genuinely funny to me.
Unrelated question: Brad, any animated movies you might "review"/riff?
It's a lot better than Brazilian Star Wars.
How come every time there's a movie coming out you have to review something related to said movie. Last time it was that robot movie for the new transformers and now its an apes spoof for the new planet of the apes movie.
Oh and take back your comment about battle for the planet of the apes, that's a damn good movie
If by "every time," you mean only FOUR whole times this year: "Robot Wars," "Brazilian Planet of the Apes," "Endless Love," and "Godzilla's Revenge." That's 4 out of 25 episodes I've done this year. Quite a major over exaggeration there.
I've been doing that for select movies since the beginning of the show. I did "Friday the 13th Part V" when the Friday the 13th remake came out.
I also do episodes that coincide with holidays as well, again, something that I've always done in the 7 years I've been doing this.
"How come every time there's a movie coming out you have to review something related to said movie. Last time it was that robot movie for the new transformers and now its an apes spoof for the new planet of the apes movie."
He's got a point Brad. Remember the time the Cinema Snob movie came out, you did a Cinema Snob video? Kind of cheap, don't you think?
Well it just seems to be a good idea to me, that's probably why it keeps happening.
After all, what's the best time to review a Brazilian planet of the apes if not now?
Wait, you didn't answer my unrelated question though =P
Given that Brad mostly does exploitation, the only animated movies I could possibly see him doing are:
Heavy Metal/Heavy Metal 2000 (both unlikely: former's been reviewed by Doug and Hagan, and the latter is too new without doing the original first given the Snob's stance on sequels/remakes)
Most of Ralph Bakshi's films, like Fritz, Coonskin, Heavy Traffic, Wizards, etc (tho Bakshi's stuff is usually entertaining, even if the riff is done in good jest)
or Once Upon A Girl (aka that porn parody of fairy tales that Frank Welker did voices for)
But even then, it's up to him if he wants to do any of them. *shrugs*
He does some cartoons like that B.C. Christmas special for the DVD-R Hell Segments, so it needn't be necessarily exploitation.
Once Upon a Girl? Oh I'd love to see him tackle that piece of vintage bizarreness.
To Zoe--My understanding is he got a desist order on using the Greatest American Hero theme? I think that has been implied a few times but never explicitly stated to my knowledge.
It looks like The Tramps are trying to be Brazilian Monty Python...without the humor.
Just looks like, they're quite quite quite different of Monty Python - they're more close to the Three Stooges and Jerry Lewis (and most of their movies are crap, even we Brazilians admit that)
If they were Brazilian League of Gentlemen we would have a problem.
Dear Cinema Snob,
As an engineer, I feel compelled to inform you that, contrary to popular belief, rotary dials are in fact digital, and touch tone keypads are in fact analog.
While rotary dials do operate using analog electrical signals, the actual dialing component of them is run digitally. Touch tone keypads generate analog audio signals, which are decoded on the other end by phone company hardware.
Long time watcher and lurker, first time posting.
Keep up the great videos.
Great review, Brad. Quick questions though: I had heard a rumor that there is a "Turkish Exorcist" movie, is that correct? Also, any plans to snob the "I Spit on Your Grave" remake, since you did the remake of "Mother's Day?"
He did a vlog review on it if you're interested in that. Probably would make it less likely for him to do a snob on it but you never know.
This movie looks like fun. What a perfect movIe for the final day of the World Cup and a new Planet of the Apes movie in theatres.
Would you consider this better than Time Of The Apes?
Well, you did your research about the Conquest of the Planet of the Apes ending, nice reference there (and great use of the Dr. Zaius Simpsons musical).
You show a bunch of dumb clips from Apes movies, and nothing from Escape from the Planet of the Apes?
Wait! A Tramps movie WITHOUT Zacarias???? He was the anchor of the troupe! Fail Brazillian Planet Of The Apes. FAIL!!!!!
I'm not a fan from Trapalhões, but I think there were some films before Zacarias joined the group.
Boo, how dare you insult Battle for the Planet of the Apes! It had motherfuckin' John Huston as the motherfuckin' Lawgiver in it! Seriously though...I like that movie.
You know youve been watching this show for too long when you
1)Expect to see a black box over some monkey fucking
2)Are shocked where there are none.
Priceless review. Well done! This day just got so much better thanks to this video, you really make my life a lot more enjoyable Brad... it's almost enough to make a man cry
Disco Demolition reference. Nice. 5 stars.
I absolutely lost it at the Dr Zauis song!
Ha well, I'm Brazilian and I love your videos Mr.Snob. This is certainly one of those "so-bad-it's-good" movies. Actually, feel yourself lucky Brad, The Tramps are much better than our recent comedies (which are truly awful).
And I can't wait to see your Sharknado 2 review! :)
So how do they turn the guy back into a human?
They give him a full-body Brazilian!
What do you get when you cross a squid with an ape?
Get it? Because it would have 8 arms xD
I was expecting a "some just wanna watch the world burn"-joke.
Dude, the artwork on this episode is really cool, somewhat symbolic...
I'm not one of those pricks who's all about the "emotional impact" of things, but I gotta say, that's a badass picture, pretty deep yo, I dig it.
Just rewatched the original Planet of the Apes such a classic
Great review Brad, And I just found my 3D glasses from my Nightmare on Elm Street DVD boxset so I'll be rewatching your Friday the 13th Part 3 review
Can you stand the Iron Man challenge?
I don't get why people from my country got so angry when Brad did the Guerra dos Planetas episode. It's the absolutely worst movie from The Tramps. Even when I was a kid I could stand that shitty movie.
Planalto dos Macacos is also one of the worst.
Oh god, those goat subtitles. xD Such a stupid joke, but it made me laugh so much. :D
No, I don't know why I only just watched this episode instead of when it came out.
Dear Mr. Snob, I'm from Brazil, and honestly I love when you do a tramps episode, they're terrible, and is terribly funny listen to your riffing. But please, I mean, please fo' realsies, watch the wizard of oz spoof, because, it isn't a wizard of oz spoof at all, it's brazilian THE WIZ. Really. Music numbers and all. That's the worst movie of the tramps. That one makes brazilian star wars look like turkish star wars.
About that dead shark. . .
"if you gotta go, go with a smile!"
Some of the older archived videos of 2009 were brought over from the youtube account before thecinemasnob.com was created, so please forgive the lesser video quality of such as some did not transfer well.
