ive' never seen this one before but i have heard of it.
That's certainly a painful movie to watch let alone review it. I don't know which is worse in terms of bad horror comedies starring once horror legends, this or Hillbillys in a Haunted House? Now there's a future review in the works.
I don't know if you saw this yet Brad, but Hulu is releasing a documentary about the stranger-than-fiction life of one time Bond George Lazenby. I know he's your favorite, so I'm sure this'll really interest you a lot!
One of those movies I've heard of for years, but never seen.
I picked up this movie for a buck at The Dollar Tree a few years ago.
I prefer the Abbott and Costello/Universal Monsters crossovers, thank you very much.
I was half expecting another pineapple to pop out somewhere. Thanks for the laughs, Snob and Snobby
I love the 1950's best of tape collection commercial clips. I hope this becomes a running gag in other reviews.
Fyi, you're an asshole.
Hmm. I may need a few more days to be sure about what I think of the abbreviated intro, but here's what I've got so far:
1. The chosen bit of the song definitely feels like a much more appopriate starting note for an episode of a show centered around snark and comedy. (If nothing else, starting with low notes on a distortion-heavy electric guitar suggests "whatever we're about to watch is fundamentally serious".)
2. I worry that it may be *too* short. An intro that's long but not excessively so can serve to get the viewer into the mood for the episode, while something this short has trouble overcoming emotional inertia.
3. For someone (like me) who likes the song once the vocals are there to balance the guitar out, it feels unsatisfying to know that there's more song that it's cutting away from.
So far, I'm having trouble deciding whether the pros or the cons are stronger.
Damn! This may be one of the biggest "thinking too hard about it" comments I've seen lately lol.
I've always had shortened versions of my intros, even the old "Believe It or Not" intros. Sometimes I use longer ones, sometimes shorter ones. The reason the shortened version is on this episode is because the episode was already over 25 minutes.
*chuckle* I wasn't sure whether using the shorter version had anything to do with my previous comment about the long version, so I thought it was only fair to err on the side of thinking too much.
That said, it's not really that hard for me. I've been analyzing my gut reactions to things and then trying to split subjective concerns from objective ones for about 15 years now to help friends who want feedback on their work, so it's become fairly quick and easy.
...plus, I'm a motormouth. The most bothersome part was actually editing that down.
NOT ENOUGH LLOYD!
Martin Landau watched this movie three times. Talk about suffering for his art!
But seriously, Snob, when are you going to review "God's Not Dead 2?"
GOOD FUCKING GOD THAT VOICE! SOMEONE PLEASE DIG UP THIS MAN AND SHOOT HIS DEAD MOUTH FULL OF BUCKSHOT! Fuck, he sounds just like this really annoying autistic kid (24 yr old) in my class who has no clue about what an inside voice is or when to shut the hell up.
I like Kyle's videos, but damn it if I didnt laugh
Dear frag, that must have been a hard sit. I was nearly climbing the walls every time Sammy opened his mouth and I ad the forunte to only see the clips.
Ye gods, that must have been nearly the most grating voice I've ever heard, at least and not immediately repressed...
Some of the older archived videos of 2009 were brought over from the youtube account before thecinemasnob.com was created, so please forgive the lesser video quality of such as some did not transfer well.
