So we could've had "A Nightmare on Elm Street 2" last week? Curse you Warner Bros.!
It's like everyone on YouTube never heard of the 1st amendment or something. Also, ANoES 2 is the one with all the unintentional gay themes. It deserves to be reviewed by someone like The Cinema Snob.
It's like everyone on the internet never took a constitutional law class or something.
Not to mention, it's one of Brad's favorites if I remember right (might be recalling that incorrectly) and the episodes where he's reviewing something he loves are my favorite.
Not to mention, I have a huge soft-spot for it myself, both as a horror film and all the straight-up weird stuff in it
Would that mean the return of the Bros?
Too bad IP law has nothing to do with the first amendment, its like no one on the internet ever heard of Article I, Section 8, Clause 8 of the US Constitution.
That's not how the First Amendment works.... sheesh!
Uhh, pretty sure all the homosexual undertones were intentional.
A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (Review): http://youtu.be/coNYGzz2zQ8
Finally, the movie with the balls to compare pot-dealers to Nazis. I think.
How long you figure before everyone finds a new "blip"? I don't see everyone wanting to fight Youtube forever.
Also, Excellent work last minuting my friend!
I saw Brad post on Twitter that his Cinema Snob archive is being uploaded to Screenwave.
A movie about weed is rated PG?
Oh, right, it was made in the 70s
Youtube are bunch of bastards, seriously how is video review seen as copyright infringement it's beyond stupid.
Its because of how much of the movie footage the Snob shows, it likely pushes up against the limit of what you can get away with under fair use. And because the limit is fuzzy and youtube has gotten in so much trouble for not doing their part to stop infringement in the past they tend to be a bit conservative in their interpretation of infringement vs fair use.
That could explain why "Can't Stop the Music" is gone.
And it's not YouTube perse. The company that owns the rights to the movies asked YouTube to take it down, because it would be considered "distributing" their product - even if no money is received by the the uploader, and even if the uploader were to say "No copyright infringement intended", as other YouTubers might do .
What the holy fuck, Youtube!
Bunch of greedy bastards only thinking about money, more like Jewtube.
Don't you have pot to smuggle, Adolf?
Wow you're a really dumb bastard aren't you? Google's the ones to blame. Ever since they took over its gotten worse and worse, but you tend to downplay this shit, don't you Uncle Adolf?
So, are we gonna get a lot of public domain stuff for the time being?
2,000 lb. of trouble? No problem, Snob. You've reviewed HOW many "Crazy Fat Ethel" movies?
…wait, does this mean the Zodiak Killer was just saving those old folks from the Terrible Secret of Space?
I got four words for this movie, "Son of Hitler Bad!"
If YT is saying no to Elm Street 2, there's always Screenwave but I wonder if it'll accept Grizzly II as well?
BTW if you still want the WB to get off your back, you can review Beyond Thunderdome the same week as Fury Road comes out on Blu-Ray!
This is why it's important to not be stoned when you film a movie about drugs. See also: Up in Smoke and Half-Baked, two "pothead" movies that are successful comedies in their own right when watched sober.
How come everyone's complaining about YouTube in this thread? Was this video blocked earlier?
What really bothers me is that the Midnight Screenings of Man From UNCLE was blocked for a while. What the hell was that about?
If/when the movie studios get their way, people won't even be allowed to just sit there talking about movies anymore.
OK. You know how I know that I made the above comment before finishing the video?
Because I made the above comment before finishing the video.
It's episodes like this that amaze me with your ability to sit and watch $#!+ like this, Mr. Snob. I'd need at least two bottles of Jack, 7,000 milligrams of Valium, and a Kumquat to get through this without blowing my brains out (and not in the happy way!)!
I applaud you, sir!
Replace Hal Reed with Towelie from South Park and this movie is almost watchable
That looks a hell of a lot more like alfafa than pot. I wanted a ton of pot, goddamnit!
Why do you keep sending out the date on your RSS feed?
Mr.Snob if you make the Nightmare on elm street 2 review a exclusive for patreon, is that a good work around? Right now I can only do $5 maybe $15(I want da posters). Once I get another job I'll pick a higher tier.
Would this have made a good Brazilian movie? Brazilian A Ton of Grass Goes to Pot followed by Brazilian Planet of the Apes? Who knows?
Are you thinking of doing a Snob episode on Fear City one of these days, coinciding with that Jack Scalia is in that which could make a nice pairing with Tequila and Bonnetti DVD-R Hell?
Kind of a shame that Jerrid isn't working with Brad anymore; that scene with the hippie mourning the cactus was crying out for a Messiah appearance.
I kinda feel bad that you had to watch this. :(
I don't get the reverence for MST3K. The funny jokes in that show are few and far between and you have to suffer trough a horrible movie in the meantime. I'd rather watch a Snob video any day of the week.
I like watching bad movies, but I understand why most people probably don't. And you are right about the first few seasons not being all that funny usually. It was more about making an occasional joke than just riffing throughout the movie. But the last few seasons they were more constantly funny throughout each episode. I think a few of the best are Space Mutiny, The Final Sacrifice, and Mitchell. Just depends on the episode.
There are bad movies I can watch, because they are still entertaining. I watched the Apple twice. It's a bad movie, but there was something about it that made it entertaining. Also, you don't watch MST3K, Rifftrax, Cinematic Titanic because of the movie, but for the characters making fun of the movie.
Also, I've watched Cinematic Titanic's "East Meets Watts" several times, because the riffing is on point, while that move is something I would never watch as a movie. .
There was a Freddy's Revenge episode? Whelp, time to assault Youtube, someone grab me my dildo chuks
You'd think that a movie about pot-smuggling wouldn't be incredibly boring, wouldn't you? It's amazing what can end up being really boring when it's in a bad movie.
I would have suggested The Wrestler starring Ed Asner as an alternative. I mean Summer Slam is this Sunday after all ;)
Welp.... now I know where Mad Cow disease comes from.
And that I'd rather eat a Mad Cow Burger than watch this fucking movie!
if Brad posted his stuff on say, PornTube, would he still get dinged so much? Do the porn sites even worry about copyright as much as YouTube?.... with bots and instantaneous pull-downs?
Just curious really....
I too am looking for a reason to legitimise my frequent visits to PornTube.
LOL, that was a good one!
But seriously..... if I was a frequenter of teh pr0n sites, then I'd already know the answer to my question. I was hoping one of you 'pervy wankers' on here would know Don't make me have to look it up; that part of Google scares me! :D
So in this review Brad not only professes his love for slavery, but also admits a deep-seated admiration for Triumph of the Will?
Brad, I know you tried to downplay your political proclivities with that "If I ever run for office" gag, but you're not fooling anyone- you can't hide your hatred for democracy from us.
No lie, as soon as I start watching this episode, the people in the apartment underneath me blaze up. What the hell?
Anyone else notice that the hippy looked a lot like Axl from The Walking Dead?
You should review Demonoid! I found a poster for it a few weeks back and then on Friday my friend found a copy! It's a sign from the Messanger of Death!
All I have to say is this...
What kind of funked-up movie was that dull, mind-boggling jumble of psychedelic nonsense that doesn't have the common courtesy to be even the least bit entertaining? D: Real cows high on marijuana could make a much-better movie than that, & I would much rather see what they would have to come up with, than sit through this whole shoddy excuse for a "pothead" movie...
All that having been said, great review, Cinema Snob! ^_^ Keep 'em coming! :D
Some of the older archived videos of 2009 were brought over from the youtube account before thecinemasnob.com was created, so please forgive the lesser video quality of such as some did not transfer well.
