GOOD JOB BLIP
You wanna hear the most annoying sound in the world?
Well done :). You've made fellow Youtube a happy one indeed. Now all you need is the annoying obnoxious censorship to get on google's good side.
Just when I thought you couldn't possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this... and totally redeem yourself!
Oh, this is gonna be awesome!
This was an awesome podcast. I was laughing through most of it.
Now I gotta go watch Dumb and Dumber.
Yes you do! It's always a good time to watch Dumb and Dumber =)
Don't be stupid...
This movie is not even worth watching...
DUMB AND DUMBER is PURE SHIT...
It's a MESS...
Oh, believe me, man. I've seen the movie as many times as you.
I can almost quote the film verbatim. Dumb and Dumber, along with UHF, are my two greatest stupid comedy joys.
I wonder if Brad knows that Nicolas Cage and Gary Oldman was going to play Lloyd and Harry.
I do. That would have been weird lol.
I got no laughs from the first trailer for Dumb & Dumber To, but the new trailer I saw looks slightly better. I hope it's good, and I doubt it's horrible, but more likely it will just be mediocre. This is one movie I will be waiting specifically for your review on, before seeing.
Awww ..... So this movie is like Brad's 'comfort food', something from the past that you grew up loving and it always puts a smile on your face. So basically this is ''The Mac 'n Cheese'' of movies. :D
I destroyed my VHS copy of this movie because I watched it so much. I wasn't even in elementary school at that point. That is how I can tell my parents really loved me.
Dumb and Dumber is pretty much my favourite film.
I know it should be another genre or whatever, but to me Dumb and Dumber is the perfect iteration of a comedy film. There is maybe one scene without a joke. Everyone but Lloyd and Harry are played, by and large, straight.
Regarding the sequel coming out. I liked a lot of the trailers - buuut I really didn't like the old lady with the dusty cunt - she simply doesn't fit in, going on the "everyone else is played straight". But I'm still hopeful for the new film, though I of course don't expect it to reach the level of the the original.
Woops - I didn't mean to reply to your comment :)
I guess I had started because I wanted to share that my vhs copy also suffered the death of overusage :)
My 5th(ish) favorite movie is "The Truman Show". My 8th(ish) is "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". And I just marathoned the entire run of "The Newsroom" this weekend.
I was born in 1994, and my parents didn't encourage me watching as a kid. And I stayed away from it after I saw the opening scene of "Dumb and Dumberer" on TV that one time in 2005 or something.
Anyway, I haven't watched "Dumb and Dumber". So if I watched it now, just watching Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels and their antics will be an interesting experience.
Sarah is the best. She might be my favorite of the Snob crew. She doesn't have a schtick, she's just herself and it works.
Sarah is so awesome! (it's hard to pick a favorite in Team Snob, they are just all so cool in such different ways)
I have to agree, not much of Team Snob I'm not a fan of, but Sarah definitely has to be a fave! Excellent actress and really funny, not to mention that weird balance of really sweet but fits in so well with the rest of the gang.
You forget she's also fucking hot! When're we getting that nude scene, dude?
Watching Dumb and Dumber is a no-brainer! Daniels does his damn best here, and he alone could Carrey this film! But Jim also possess Starr quality in this flick! Lauren luck if you catch a screening of this Farrelly great comedy!
You missed spelled Carrey for Carrey this film, it should be carry, no caps and no 'e'.
This, of course, is not me either.
Assuming it isn't SamJ either.
Leave being a grammar nazi to the Ain't It Cool talkbackers, those threads are a haven for them.
It took me two hours to figure out at least one line for this New Line film. Don't Rocket till you try it, but this is more Duffy-cult than it looks!
It's like Gene Shallit's in the room with me, right now.
Is Dumb and Dumber made for 12 year old boys? Yes. Am I a lady who dies laughing in the Nebraska scene where it's just a shot of Harry sitting in the dirt with his ass crack hanging out? Absolutely. Butts are hilarious.
My favorite dumb 90s comedy is probably Dirty Work. That's a movie I love to quote:
"Now he's taken away my chainsaw, and he's using it on me!"
"Hey, look, an alien."
"Yup. Guess we'd better have sex with each other."
"Hello, real cops?"
"You fellas have a lot of growing up to do, I'll tell you that. Ridiculous. Completely ridiculous. Can you believe these characters? Way out of line. Way out of line. I have a good mind to go to the warden about this. You know what hurts the most is the... the lack of respect. You know? That's what hurts the most. Except for the other thing. That hurts the most. But the lack of respect hurts the second most."
"Note to self: Learn to fight!"
My favorite dumb 90s comedy is totally "Tommy Boy". Chris Farley is so energetic and hilarious in that movie that it actually makes me cry a little every time I watch it. And I still like David Spade. They both had great chemistry. I still can't believe Ebert gave the movie zero stars.
"You forgot about my loyal army of whores."
"You remember when we were ten, and I looked up your sister's skirt? I was looking at my own sister's skirt!"
"And remember in high school, when you had sex with her?"
"...Okay, enough reminiscing."
As one of the many, many, many fans of the original I really hated the trailer for the new one (as well as having my ever present anger of yet another sequel that isn't Dredd, I wish I could let that go!) but I might give it a shot.
After all, I've already been made a fool of this year by one movie I THOUGHT was gonna be dumb from the trailers, the wonderful Guardians of the Galaxy, & another I was sure would kick ass, no dull, wooden pun intended, Godzilla.
So I guess we'll see. . .
You guys thought Ferigno was a dick too? I thought I did something to piss him off. I saw him at a con like 5 years ago, there was nobody around his table so I figured I wouldn't be wasting valuable selling time if I said hi and told him I was a big fan of the Incredible Hulk growing up. He gave me a half-hearted thanks and asked if I wanted to buy his book, which I didn't, and he wasn't too pleased about it. What am I going to do with a $25 book about bodybuilding? Especially when my roommate, who is the only person I've heard a positive meeting Ferigno story from, already bought a copy from him. Anyway, I like to tell people that I didn't make Hulk angry, but I did seem to annoy him.
I've only seen this movie once and I didn't enjoy it. I guess the idiot humour just doesn't appeal to me.
I hadn't seen this movie in a good decade, so I Netflixed it just today. It kinda sorta holds up as far as dumb comedies go.
IIRC, the 'shit' in the prequel was a chocolate bar that melted in one of their pockets. I could be wrong though.
Brad, around the 14:00 mark, you keep saying "my mom."
What's the deal?!
That's sad Lou Ferrigno is a dick. From afar he always looked like a nice dude. What is your favorite celebrity encounter Brad?
I love Ace Ventura 2. I've seen it a million times, more than the first, and it still makes me laugh. It's to me what Dumb and Dumber is to you, Brad, but I enjoyed Dumb and Dumber, as well.
Stupid question, but is this movie the reason why you named your cat Lloyd?
I think it was mostly inspired from Lloyd Kaufman, but I also just liked the name Lloyd for a cat.
At least you didn't name your cat, "Stevens?"
Forget Morris, Lloyd will always be awesome. =^♥^=
no it is clearly because of Jake Lloyd.
Awesome Snobcast, Brad.
I must say that I have a soft spot for the Waterboy. Mainly because my life has, at points, resembled the events of that film far too much for my own comfort.
"Waaater sucks! It really really sucks! Waaater sucks! It really really suuucks!"
I really hope this doesn't turn out like the last time we got a sequel 20 or so years after the last one (Kingdom of the Crystal Skull)
Also, it is extremely upsetting when celebs are dicks.
Living in PA, the one I to, the Pittsburgh Steel City Con (cheap pop!), usually gets 10 celebs & only 1 or 2 I actually want to meet. But, that saves more money for comics & figures so, win win!
the one you "GO" to
After typing my last comment I immediately popped Dumb & Dumber . Since I have to be in the mood to watch something it's been a while, so I was surprised to find I have the unrated version & thus I was worried. I love Anchorman (the only Will Farrell flick I like but 's start, please!) but they changed a few things/replaced scenes I liked or something.
Anyhow, Sara, seeing as you didn't care for the "regular" version you'd probably find the alternative even more so not to your liking. It's only 6 more added minutes, but other than seeing Mental killing Petey & 5 seconds of Sea Bass in a leopard thong (w/ some top o' the hedge I'm sad to say), it only has more comedy as well as filling in a few gaps for some scenes.
Speaking of the comedy, I get how you, an adult female wouldn't like this film. I on the other hand haven't even pulled this off my shelf in more 5 years & yet I recited EVERY line & song start to finish. That's the power a select few films have on me. I won't list them so as not to start bitch fest, but one of them is Tim Burton's Batman. I mean, to be able to enjoy a nostalgic movie SO MUCH that you remember every line, well that's either sad or amazing. . .
I prefer sadly amazing, more optimistic.
Finally, I never realized Lin Shaye was Mrs. Neugeboren! Or that the lead officer is Felton Perry, otherwise known to us geeks/nerds as Mr. Johnson from the Robocop trilogy!
Funny the things you learn :-)
I immediately popped "IN" Dumb & Dumber.
Damn, hate when that happens. Sorry!
I don't think Lloyd Christmas is smart enough to think about other people unless heavily prompted. He is literally thoughtless...
I also really loved the part where Lloyd spat out food before trying to perform CPR, because when I first saw the movie when I was younger, I still thought that that was the katchup and mustard that him and Harry doused their mouths with after they ate the peppers in the previous scene, so in my young mind, I just thought that the katchup and mustard just mixed together when he spat it out; i was laughing so hard!
When is the next snobcast going to come out ..not rushing just want to know cause i really like these podcasts
