Already sold on the Faggot Josh reference. Love it.
Just in time! I was so bored I was just about ready to watch some reality TV. So thank fuck for this.
Also, this totally came out of nowhere. I'm listening to it now and although I haven't started watching this series (In fact I don't think I even knew about it until now) this is still very entertaining.
But does this mean we're not getting the Frankenhood Random Button this week? If so Josh Hadley is going to be getting a very angry email.
In slightly tangential addition; I've been hankering for a new TV show to invest in and Brad's description of True Detective piqued my interest so I looked it up and then I found out that it stars Woody Harrelson AND Matthew McConaughey. Then I also found out that T Bone Burnett (notable Elvis Costello collaborator among other things) composed the music. This show couldn't be more tempting if it tried.
Great stuff. But come on now, not one mention of Vamp?
You bitches doin a podcast on mah favorite 90s movie without me? The line has been drawn in the sand broskis. To think I was going to send you a bottle of my super secret Mister X Brew, but now I'm going to rename it Traitor Brew, cause that's what y'all have done to my heart. Driven a wooden stake through it.
Brad, you have to do a retrospective on The Following. That show is a modern day television trainwreck. Though are you of the opinion that the show is terrible to sit through or do you derive pleasure from how bad it is?
They should do this and bring up "Hostages" as a similarly moronic show to compare and contrast it with. I especially love how one of the terrorists ended up changing her name... to her actor's name.
Why am I not watching that show?
People are usually pretty hard on him, but Faggot Josh is kinda funny.
Rapists, Dick guns, and Kathy Griffon, what was this about again?
It was about rapists, dick guns, and Kathy Griffin obviously.
...and pussy-NEVER forget da pussy
In regards to the pussy speech, I once ran across From Dusk Till Dawn playing on UPN. It was a baffling decision. Anyway, the scene was still there but every instance of the word 'pussy' was replaced with 'kitty'. Things only got worse from there.
Dang, Mister X found me out immediately! I saw the title and thought to myself, "the cool black guy I heard on Radiodrome with the really awesome voice?", and sure enough, that's the remark he makes at the opening of the video!
But FJ did some good here, because I actually really liked Mister X on Radiodrome, so it was an enthusiastic curiosity seeing his name come up again here. I'll have to check out more of his stuff again to see how he's come along since I last checked...which is *exactly* how I came to be a Brad Jones fan after seeing those two little videos of his that Spoony promoted all those years ago.
And on a side note, hell yes, Brad is a fellow Boris player on Goldeneye! I always loved being a real pain in the ass as Boris in the multiplayer because I'd always use irritating hit & run tactics with him (often resulting in proximity mines should the slug-heads give chase). It just felt fitting for the character.
Hearing Brad and X talk about Dusk Till Dawn was great enough, but the side-discussions like that really brought a smile to my face. God, I loved Goldeneye. Broke the shit out of the R button on my nice controller thanks to that game.
true detective fuk yeah
Since listening to this and hearing Brad praising True Detective I've watched the first 4 episodes and it really is fucking amazing. Brilliantly written, beautifully shot, intelligently paced, fantastic acting (the whole cast is terrific but McConaughey stands out as being absolutely astounding). I'm genuinely grateful for the recommendation because I was feeling starved of decent shows to watch and this is just better than I could have imagined.
Come for Alexandra Daddario's spectacular rack, stay for the engrossing mystery.
I am such a big fan of the film.
I was lucky enough to avoid anything about the film so I had no idea what it was about.
Plus coming off the back of RD and PF, with the black suits in the film I thought it was going to be another heist/gangster flick.
I was really clueless as to what FDTD was all about. So when the "left turn" does happen in the flick it was one of the biggest WTF moments I had ever witnessed in a film.
Still, I'm not sure if I want to invest into the series.
The film already did a great job of telling the story. Do I really care what the Gecko Bros did before or how they got to the "gas station"? Not really.
I just do not know how or why they feel the need to drag out the film into a TV series...epically a 10 hour one.
FDTD is a great flick and an entraining story, but 10 hours?
Just wanted to add.
Robert Patrick plays Jacob in the TV series.
So the character of Jacob is in the show, also that makes RP the only actor from the films to appear in the TV show...so far...
I just watched the first 2 episodes...Shark. Ramp. Motorcycle. It's very, very bad. At least it made me laugh a little bit when Fez the Vampire Snake Monster ate a 90's Christian Grunge Rock fan...he looked like a ginger Scott Stapp. Anyhow, I'll just stick to listening to Brad and Mr. X's podcasts about the episodes...at least then I'll be entertained.
