Brad's feet.... the new endangered species! :)
The next time you guys are the only people in the theater, you should just try to film your live reactions to the whole movie, a la MST3K. That could be great.
Haha you ran out the battery shame xD i wanted to hear more
Oh man that beyonce movie is sounding good i never watched it because it looked generic but if Bey beats the crap out of a lady then i am with it.
oh shit if someone popped out in the middle of the night saying who are you ...i lose my shit probably run
hey Brad here you go http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/independent/thehive/
I know, we've seen the trailer =)
fine, be like that
Be like what? He was just saying they've seen it. They also said several times in the video that they saw the trailer.
That's weird that your half price nights are dead. My theatre does $6 tickets on Tuesdays and it's busier than any weekend.
Yes, I just checked Fathom's Facebook page. The Hive event was on Monday night. But hey, I was hoping you guys were gonna tackle this one. Looked like a nice follow-up to that No Good Deed flick from last September. LOL! Trailers really screamed theatrically released Skin-e-Max thriller, complete with trash and overwrought tension and suspense.
you know, the first time you said you saw the War room, I thought it was that documentary about Bill Clinton's first time he ran for President in 1992. I would also like to add to any who said "#1 movie, make a review of that," just because something is popular, doesn't make it good.
I'm disappointed that you couldn't go see The Hive, it was actually a very pleasant surprise. It was a weird Memento/love story/zombie movie, and was a refreshing spin on the zombie genre. And the girl playing the turned zombie was amazing. You should definitely check it out when you get the chance.
So glad you guys caught onto Cheapo Tuesday. I've been hitting it hard since May. $5.50 movies and $4.25 large popcorn keeps us in the theater almost every week.
At least Medavoy's getting a paycheck.
So it's "The Other Woman" with a gender swap and a race change?
Sounds good to me!
After you describing this movie and the advice that the cop is giving to the lead character, I'm gobsmacked that African-American women everywhere aren't calling bullshit to this movie.
Do they ever say which state this takes place in? Because there's at least one infamous case of a woman firing a warning shot into the ceiling against abusive husband who she has a restraining order against and she ended up in jail. She had to plea bargain her way to a 20 year prison stretch for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. And that happened in Florida where George Zimmerman was getting off scott free for shooting Trayvon Martin (please explain to Sarah who that is again....) claiming "Stand Your Ground".
This movie is either completely tone deaf to reality or the powers that be don't want that kind of thing being made into a movie.
We've awoken the Hive!
Actually yes, when served a restraining order they are required to explain to the person being served what exactly the order is, and what they must do. Pretty much so people can't violate the restraining order than then say they were ignorant.
I have not had a restraining order filled against me btw, but I have been involved in filing one against someone else.
Honestly "The #1 movie in America" acclaim usually means that the movie is gonna be shit
Fury Road only made it as high as #2 thanks to Age of Ultron, which imo was extremely overrated. So... yeah, that pretty much sums it up.
I watched this video last night and this morning a trailer popped up on TV. They asserted that there was a twist that you would never see coming. I laughed out loud just thinking about how Brad or Brian at one point states that there is no real twist.
I hated sitting through this. It honestly felt like I had paid to watch a sub-par made-for-TV movie. The acting's not horrible, but most of the dialog is either predictable or melodramatic, the music is overpowering and WAY to obviously on point, the shot framing and editing SCREAMS made-for-TV, and the occasional use of slo-motion was way to cheesy.
I don't suppose you guys have watched The Following? Michael Ealy was in its last season as pretty much the exact same character as here.
Wow, we have half-priced Tuesdays in South Africa, too! I never thought that was a thing internationally, but if it's done in America, I guess it is. 3-D tickets at the most expensive cinemas are about $3.20 (R42.50) on Tuesdays, and people still complain about ticket prices.
It's here in Canada too. Usually 6 bucks. Our 3D movies are upwards of 15 bucks. It's both sad and disgusting.
home alone is coming back on nov 8 and 11
Is Jillian ok? Seems like she hasn't been around much lately.
Isn't she doing her own thing at Geek Juice Media?
Not lately. And she hasn't posted anything on twitter or facebook in like a month.
She's also the voice of Chloe in the Lloyd cartoon.
It's usually up to the state to determine what is satisfactory when it comes to service of court order. Regular restraining orders are a civil misdemeanor which usually means it has a much more lax requirements for service. Since Brad lives in Illinois I'll cite Illinois law when it comes to being served.
Under Chapter 735. Civil Procedure
735 ILCS 5/2-203. Service on individuals.
Except as otherwise expressly provided, service of summons upon an individual defendant shall be made
1. by leaving a copy of the summons with the defendant personally,
2. by leaving a copy at a defendant's usual place of abode, with some person of the family or a person residing there, of the age of 13 years or upwards, and informing that person of the contents of the summons, provided the officer or the other person making service shall also send a copy of the summons in a sealed envelope with postage fully prepaid, addressed to the defendant at his or her usual place of abode
Some states actually view a phone call as legal precedent for notification of service. So to answer the question, no it is not lawful practice to disrupt someone's place of employment with notification of civil action. But that wouldn't make for a good movie. ;)
When my mom lived in Chicago and she got a 38 special after being stabbed on the street, the police gave her almost identical advice Holt McCallany gives in this movie, re: shotgun. The reasons being the sound of the shotgun (as opposed to a smaller caliber) should be enough to warn off most home invaders and if it comes to shooting AT someone, a new gun-user in a high-stress situation is much more likely to slow someone down with a spread than a bullet.
Wait, Brian is the Boxer Short Bandit of Illinois? Scandalous.
