I've wanted a video like this forever, where you guys just talk about whatever. I'm so happy you guys finally did it!
Didn't we just watch a snobcast episode?
We had that video. It was the review of BIg Hero 6.
Oh shit, it has begun.
I know what you're talking about, but I think you're posting on the wrong site.
I am very confused by what this is. I looked it up and the most sense I can make of this is Jason "I molest drunk women" Pullara a.k.a. LordKat, whining about Channel Awesome as he seems to be spending an awful lot of time doing since leaving them.
Wikipedia says saving Christmas budget was 500K but needs citation so yeah, still believable i guess.
My sources tell a differet tale. They say I stink. And I no idea what Hans means by that and how it relates to the movie.
Actually, the ending hubbub is because they shoved the whole plot into a starchild shaped space-magic fiasco, instead of going with the original idea, where the stars were dying out and becoming a reaper was the only way to survive it.
Also nothing you did actually mattered in the end.
Not just that. The entire plot of ME3 was stupid, basically revolving around a giant deus ex machina that wasn't alluded to at all in the previous two games. I mean, sure, video games aren't exactly high art and I usually don't have great expectations for video game stories, but if Bioware is going to go on about the maturity and complexity of their writing, I'm going to fucking call them out when they turn out a hack story and call it art.
Jake probably played the extended edition too, since that's free DLC. The original ending was worse.
Yup. Really there are a million reasons why people hate that ending, but your choices not mattering I think is the BIGGEST one. Lots of folks made multiple Shepards and played through each game multiple times to see how their choices would affect the ending and...nothing.
Also depending on choices you can induce some MASSIVE plot holes that render the entire ending pointless and stupid. Worse still? These plot holes could EASILY be about the best part of the game if you're a Tali or Legion fan. Yes there's a way to write around this plot hole but Shepard should have questioned it.
Basically we ALL knew Shepard was gonna die. I think I expected that from the very first game. Trust me, that ain't the problem. In fact, there's an entire DOCTUMENTARY someone made on YouTube that outlines in explicit detail all the ways the ending was an extra special kind of awful.
Yes, I've seen worse endings. The entire FFXIII saga revolves around the writers writing themselves into a corner early on and having to BS up an ending. All three times the endings were so bad they were almost COMICAL.
But the ending to ME3...kinda destroys any desire I have to play through ME2 and 3 if my choices are gonna matter so little. ME1 was my favorite of the series, it deviated way too much in the latter two games, and I was really only playing them because I wanted to make choices and hang out with the characters I've grown to love. But now? May as well just stick to 1 then.
Personally I thought the ending was okay. At that time all the stuff had been wrapped up and the only thing left was Shepard's story. I feel that whatever choices you made had results but those results happened before the ending itself. I enjoyed it.
My theory is that "The Pyramid" was just a big Pyramid scheme, getting people to invest in a movie with a minimalist title and then maybe putting $10,000 worth of effort onto the screen.
Might be wrong about this, but is it just another found footage movie? That's the impression I got from the trailer.
This was great. I could stand to see more of these with all of you guys.
I guess your theater doesn't have Rifftrax Live showings of 1959's Santa Claus and 1964's Santa Claus Conquers the Martians! It's a shame really because it would've been nice to hear your thoughts on them and compare them to the original MST3K episodes!
It did, but it was showing when we were filming The Reviewers.
Brad, from what you said, i dont think you got the ACTUAL ending in RDR. after john dies and you play as jack, there is a stranger mission where you track agent ross down and avenge john. if you havent got that far, i really urge you to pick it up and finish it off properly, or at least look up a lets play and download the credit song "dead man's gun" on your ipod/phone/pad/laserdisc.
i saw the trailer to pyramid on tv it looks like as above somethingsomething but with mummies...it looks fucking stupid i enjoyed this session of talking about everything lol
Nothing? Dude, I'm telling you... Hell, I'm telling ALL of you! Ethan Hawke's Predestination (2014) from Spierig brothers who made Daybreakers.
This Australian-produced film is out (I think) and it is well worth your time (if you're one of those who need to see the most bizarre shit indie and mid-budget scene has to offer). This movie will make you go wtf for the rest of the fucking day after you see it. It is the most bizarre batshit plot you'll see this side of Winter's Tale. What that movie did for fantasy, this... thing... is doing for Sci-fi. I'm not promoting the movie, I'm not pulling your leg. This - movie - needs - to - be - seen and commented on by you guys. This is one in a fucking million when it comes to what the fuck cinema. It's not the production - that's fine (if TV-ish). It's not the direction - that's fine too. It's certainly not the acting - both Ethan and the girl did a great job (which helps since this is a dialogue-heavy film). It's the fucking set up and the balls to the walls insanity that the story turns into as the real plot is actually revealed. It tries to sell itself as a Inception / Time Cop mix, but that's completely fucking irrelevant to the actual theme of the movie. This isn't a graphic thing like those damned Centipede movies. No, no, it's all handled very subtly visually (well, except for one part), but the plot. Oh man, the plot. And that fucking ending, when we find out the motive behind the whole fucking movie. The word incest does not apply here. Hell, no. This thing is taking a rout through a whole new fucking mindfield of bizarro relationships only sci-fi can provide. The search for the time bomber. The motivation behind the bomber's actions. The fucking theme of it all. This fucking movie needs to be reviewed. S-i-r-i-o-u-s... I mean, s-e-r-y-o-u-... Ah, hell, you know what I mean...
Dudes, come on. The Christmas is almost here, and you still haven't opened the box from Australia with the mystery movie gift. And it's a fucking doozy, believe me.
Besides, it's based on a "classic" Sci-Fi short tale.
If the authors of this thing had any fucking idea about advertising, they'd take their one-in-a-fucking-million theme and just run with it. You know what obsession over true love really is? Not until you've seen this, you fucking dolts (not Brad, the other dolts). And then the thought of true love will make you sick forever. :)
I saw this at SXSW, and I have to agree. Predestination was AMAZING, and it has to be seen to be believed.
I wouldn't say Predestination is "amazing", but it sure is a great mindfuck. I've got a bit of a penchant for time travel theory from a physics perspective, and that movie has me stumped. It's like the Shrodinger's cat of time travel movies. Brad, you NEED to see it! Though, I have to admit, Sarah Snook knocked it out of the park.
I also have to say I love Jake all the more now that he divulged his true feelings on Mass Effect 3. I entirely agree, Shepard dying worked plot wise, and made the most sense for the series. Mass Effect is one of the best examples of an Epic Heroic Tragedy in modern storytelling.
When I say "amazing", I mean that's how the movie affected me. Once it was over, I was definitely amazed at everything that had transpired.
Predestination doesn't come out in the states till January, dude.
Damn, you're right! Fucking January... Why do they even still have different release dates for different countries? Well, I'll shut up about this for the time being then, but come January, Snob team better get their asses on this. This is not to be missed.
Then again, the semi-animated Robin Wright / Harvey Keitel movie called The Congress (2013) made by the guy who just bought the rights to direct the animated version of Alejandro Jodorowsky's version of Dune is out in the States, and Brad and everyone else who wonders what the new Dune might look like should see it.
It's a Sci-Fi drama, with some very interesting ideas similar to those of Terry Gilliam about the future of the movie business and very well done trippy animated section highly reminiscent of Ralph Bakshi.
It's a bit slow movie with somewhat over-complicated simple plot about an actress who in the near future sells her image to a big movie studio. This means that the studio can make any movie with her without using her (CGI tech is now perfectly photo-realistic) but she must retire. After 20 years, they need to renegotiate the contract and she goes to the studio's party (the said congress) where everyone is using the latest drug that makes you see the world as you see fit (the animated part of the movie starts there).
There. Brad, go see that NOW. Or more precisely, rent it, because it's out of the theaters. This is the closest thing to classic Gilliam combined with 90s Bakshi.
I heard tell that it was all over the net on various streams, but obviously viewing films without paying is morally wrong and so no one is watching it.
Having read the story it's based on, I'm mildly terrified and partially stoked to see it. Brad, don't let anybody spoil it for you before you go see it. Don't let Sarah read the story if you're going to bring her along. I don't know how the film will approach the plot, but if it's anything like the original story, it should be a hell of a roller coaster.
I'm seeing Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas tonight!
S-e-r-i-o-u-s-l-y. That's it!
If you think that joke was painful, you should see this fucking movie. F.U. moments galore!
This video was good but by god Jake and Brad, you need to make that fireworks + fucking with PTSD thing into a video cause that shit nearly killed me.
Given that moves get to America well before they reach here (Seriously, Big Hero 6 doesn't come down under until after Christmas) I've found the Midnight Screenings excellent to tell me what movies to go and see. So I appreciate all the hard work they do and am glad they can get the time to do things like this.
I think the reason most people where pissed off was because the ending felt rushed, a star child comes out of no where and suddenly we ave to make three chooses and we have can't ask questions. I was a bit ok with the ending but i would have rather shepred die in a final boss fight with the big reaper guy.
When you wonder why people got pissed off at the ME3 ending, keep in mind they changed it for the Trilogy release. Yeah, the ending you played was not the one that the game launched with. It was that big a shitstorm.
China is banning puns, apparently...
Potential ME3 spoilers on the off chance anyone cares, but Shepard can survive in the destroy ending if your war score thingy is high enough. You get a little post ending scene where it shows their body and they suddenly take a breath.
As some others have pointed out most of the issues came from the fact that up until now the game has had all of these multiple branching choices and story options that essentially meant nothing because you're pushed into the same ending choices. Screwed the Krogan over in favor of the Solarians? Doesn't matter. Got the Geth and Quarians to work together instead of having to pick one or the other? Doesn't matter. It doesn't help that the Star Child just came out of nowhere and was all "choose which of the three colored lights you want to see in your ending"
I didn't like the ending, but unlike some other...passionate fans it didn't ruin the game for me, or the franchise. It was just a disappointing end, but I still very much enjoyed the journey there. Really, I think it could have been avoided with a better epilogue in the style of the old Fallout games. They should have shown what happened to all of the different races and NPC's based on the decisions you made throughout the game. Yeah, there'd be a lot of different scenarios to cover, but you wouldn't have to make elaborate cutscenes or the like, just do what the extended cut did and have VO's over still images. The extended cut was a step in the right direction because it sort of covered this, but my personal problem with it was it didn't really cover enough and felt sort of like a rushed attempt to appease angry fans. I still appreciate the fact they made the effort at the very least, and honestly, I can kind of respect the fact they didn't try and retcon the previous ending and stuck with their vision.
Also, as someone else mentioned the original ending did just sound more interesting where the Reapers were more...sympathetic for lack of a better term. Another little complaint is that the Star Child implies synthetics and organics can't ever work together, even though you have that very option with the Geth and the Quarian. If I remember correctly you can even have Shepard bring this up, but Star Child just basically goes. "Well, yeah, but that's different and totally wouldn't work/last with the Reapers because umm, reasons."
99% sure you can't even bring up that the Geth and the Quarians live in a symbiotic relationship now. That ground my gears so hard.
You refereed to Sheppard as a man boo 0 stars
I wish you guys would do these more regularly, just two people shooting the shit, I love listening to that, don't know why don't care why. Also Brad when are you going to do that Nic Cage retrospective we've all been wanting?
It should be said that as you played Mass Effect 3 now. You almost certainly played the updated version where the ending is extended a bit and makes more sense.
I played ME3 right when it came out, and I still didn't have big problem with the ending. I had no problems with the resolution, while the deus ex blue red thing was indeed less than great. In general I tend not to get too fuzzed about endings than at least one vocal population on the internet seems to get.
I mean the ME series as a whole was so amazing that no 10 minute ending is really going to change that for me.
I didn't mind that my Shepard died. It felt appropriate. What I did mind was the ass-pull that was the starchild, the stupid reasons the Reapers had for their actions, and the fact that every ending was the same exact cutscene except the pulse was a different colour. I'm still not exactly a fan of how it ends, but the redone ending itself is so much better than it originally was.
I kind of wish they'd actually gone with the Indoctrination Theory, where it was all an attempt to convince Shepard to give into the Reapers mentally. That was an interesting idea. I know Angry Joe really liked it too, he did a video on it.
It also explains away just how moronic the Reaper backstory was. They're making shit up to mess with your head.
"Some arsehole once saw a planet get wiped out by their robots. Ergo: Robots can NEVER co-exist with people, based on this one example. Killer robots are bad, so we must build killer robots to stop cilivisations before they can build killer robots. Sure, robots still kill them... but they're our killer robots. That makes it okay. Now pick your favourite explosion colour." Thanks, Star-Child - makes perfect sense. I'm so glad BioWare kept advertising this game as "the epic conclusion, that won't have a simple A. B. or C ending. Your choices through the series will totally matter."
The entire series sets up that these aren't just glorified synthetics, these aren't mere organics, or even cyborgs, these are the ultimate fusion of the two out to "uplift" the universe in their own image. And the end tosses all that out the airlock and turns them into dumb bots just following their programming long after it stopped making sense. Worse, it gives them an ORIGIN. "We have no beginning. We have no end." Well so much for that.
Half replying to you half to Morhek:
Not to mention that we saw in ME2 that reapers are built in the form of the species they are built from (in that case humans). In ME3 they were suddenly all from the leviathan-species, presumably because bioware was too cheap to come up with multiple designs, which was probably also the reason why they changed the ending, because the one-design-thing wouldn't have made sense with their original plan. *sigh*
@Slowking: the after-game cutscene, once you finish the Collector Base, already confirmed that most Reapers looked like Sovereign/Harbinger. I assumed that the unique shapes were an internal thing, and that eventually the Human!Reaper would have been installed within a standard Reaper-shaped shell. That wasn't so much a deal breaker for me.
I haven't played Mass Effect 3, but I did get 2 brand new games for the Super Nintendo: Super Mario All Stars & the reproduction cart of Super Metroid Phazon Hack 0.3 from OCDReproductions. I also highly recommend to Jake & maybe Brad Killer Instinct Seasons 1 & 2 for the Xbox One. it's one of the very few good new Rare LTD games which has been done by both Double Helix & currently Iron Galaxy. it's nominated for best fighting game of 2014 for tonight's video game awards. if you guys like this game, I will be happy to make you both a copy of the original arcade soundtrack.
as for The Pyramid, I don't know what to tell you. it looks dumb and got bad reviews, pretty much what I expected based on the concept alone. just watch The Mummy 1999 & The Mummy Returns instead.
Saving Christmas is now officially #1 on IMDb's Bottom 100. There's no guarantee that it'll stay there, but I can see it being on the list for quite some time.
Brad looks like a giggling little girl.
I'm a little confused at no second showing of Saving Christmas to find all those little nuggets you might have missed the first time around.
C'MON BIG DADDY~!
I saw the title, and laughed for a solid five minutes. This was great
Well, this seems to be the natural evolution, pretty standard midnight screenings episode except for the five minut review portion. Not that I'm complaining :D.
Weird! I just watched Nothing today too!
Nothing (2003) is actually a pretty cute little movie. Samuel Beckett with a twist from fiction. It's NOTHING compared to Predestination 2014, though. Predestination freaking scars you... but you kinda like it because it does it in a pretty insane original way.
The reason that people were mad at the ending for Mass Effect 3 is because it didn't give any closure. The game didn't end so much as stop. I'm guessing Jake saw the improved ending which actually does give closure, and that's all we really wanted out of it.
Basically the Mass Effect 3 ending was you meet space Hitler, where he takes the form of a child you watched his henchmen murder. And you sit there and listen to his racist crap about synthetic life always killing organic life. Then he gives you an ultimatum, commit mass genocide, including your friends if you save the geth, enslave 20,000 cycles of corrupted life and turn yourself into a zombie slave god that creepily watches over everything, or thoroughly violate the bodily autonomy of every living thing on a level far deeper than rape and everyone just gets along with the giant brainwashing machines made of dead people I guess...
So then you either give into space hitler's ultimatum, or rocks fall, everyone dies. Then you commit your warcrime, and the game treats you like Jesus. The End...
I mean, it totally works if you play the game as a renegade dick like Jake did...
Assuming it's all actually happening (which, according to Bioware, it is) I always choose Control, on the basis that no matter what Shepard you play, renegade or paragon, you know that his first act would be to plunge every single Reaper into the heart of the sun. It accomplishes the Destroy ending, without murdering EDI or the Geth.
See, that was an option before the Extended Cut. The Extended Cut closed that loophole. Holy crap. Shepard's sitting there talking about the greatness he's become and how only now he understands everything, and how he's going to use these twenty thousand cycles of enslaved zombie bots to enforce his either benevolent (paragon) or ruthless (renegade) will on the galaxy. And it's all set to some really disturbing music you would expect for a zombie god dictator...
Aw, dammit. My only consolation, snatched from me.
I loved Deadwood and I always thought it was weird they re-cast the same actor for a totally difference role. How did that series end after only 3 Seasons, yet Hells on Wheels has dragged on for 5 seasons and totally sucks in comparison. Liked this talk about nothing.
Hey Jake from State Farm:
I know yer mad Jake, but ya gotta get yer own.
I know ya mad Jake
Well, there are other films playing in Springfield that haven't been reviewed, like "The Theory of Everything", "Beyond the Lights", and even "Citizenfour".
"Nothing!"? That movie SUCKED!
"Anything" was WAAAYYY better!
The Theory of Everything hasn't made it out to Springfield yet? Shame, I knew it went nationwide but I guess it's still progressively getting wider. Then again, Walla Walla only JUST got Birdman this weekend (although I saw it when I went home for Thanksgiving). Still, TTOE is a great movie, hope it makes it out to Springfield soon!
Of course they haven't gotten it TToE yet. That might cut in to the extended stay of "A Croc-a-duck Christmas".
That's who played Krug in the remake? No wonder I couldn't take it seriously. He's a fine actor, but I kept wondering why they casted a bearded Johnny Knoxville. Not that the other characters were any better. The "Junior" rehash was f*cking emo, "Weasel" was tying way too hard, & sorry for my crassness but other than the nudity the girl wasn't really threatening. Now, I'm aware the original isn't the true horrorshow most say it is, hell other than the murders I've always found the killers pretty amusing.
But then again I find The Exorcist hysterical so what do I know. . . right?
Wait..... Is this Betelgeuse? When are you going Hawaiian, man?
Alas, I am not the Juice. I just happen to agree that "The Exorcist" is a great comedy. Nothing more, nothing less.
Sorry to disappoint you, good sir.
Sorry. I don't think "casted" is a word.
Injustice is awesome! I love using the environment to beat up my opponents.
Does this mean we're not getting "Jillian stares unblinking at the camera for a half hour because Brad sent her alone to Saving Christmas"?
now that Tusk is out on Itunes and places like that, will you be watching it and reviewing it? I'm really curious what you though of it!
I agree! Brad, you really need to see Tusk. It is magical!
It's things like this that make me love you guys (especially Jake) and that the snobcast was a more regular thing. Also can you do an occasional random button type episode where neither of the parties involved have seen the movie?
What do you all think about Christoph Waltz being cast as Blofeld in the next Bond film?
A talking vagina. I remember that episode of South Park.
I was fine with Shepard dying in ME3, in fact, that was what I wanted. But I was still blown away by its lack of logic, the fact there is no final boss and that the god child let's you win for no reason. You have to have the DLC for it to start to make sense and most didn't get said DLC. The rest of the game was 10/10 though.
Hey Brad id love it if you guys started a lets play show on this site with you and jake where you play shitty video games.
Also how come even though you didnt go out and see any movies your still making the video in a car and not in your house?
I would really love to see a Team Snob shot-for-shot remake of "Saving Christmas'. Hell, given how cheap it should be to make, you might be able to afford to have Gus Van Sant guest direct.
I would like to hear Brad's thoughts on Saints Row IV. Especially if he gets the "How the Saints Saved Christmas" DLC. Then I would like to hear a comparison between that and Kirk Cameron Saves Christmas.
We all know Kirk Cameron saved Christmas better, no need to compare them ;)
Kirk Caneron's Christmas has reached the bottom of IMDB
Hey Jake, did you install the 'Extended Cut' ending to Mass Effect 3?
That fixes a lot of what people HATED about Mass Effect 3.
please do this again
"We are doing this for nothing. And I hope you enjoyed it."
Boy did I.
You guys should have gone to the RiffTrax Live event, it was pretty amazing.
two guys in a car talking about taking vaginas. Yea this is definitely the most manly video on the site.
I was playing Red Dead Redemption for the first time while listening to this and you totally spoiled some major developments before I got to--eh, it was something I just knew was going to happen, just wanted to do that schtick. :P I did just finish RDR for the first time and loved it, and I generally didn't like the GTAs except for 5.
At any rate, I'm glad you're enjoying GTA4...more? ...than you did before? At any rate, I don't think you should be forcing yourself to play it if you aren't really having much fun with it. If you have the option, though, the DLC campaigns for it (which are available on their own disc or in a "complete" edition) actually have much better checkpointing and other small tweaks.
That being said, Saint's Row I think would be right up your ally. They kind of start off as GTA clones and branch off from there. The first one is kind of hard to play today, since it was basically a clone of San Andreas. SR2 is very much its own beast even if it looks and feels similar to 1. SR3 is where it definitely spun off in a far crazier direction, and 4 is pretty much a super hero game for most of its run. I'd start with SR3 and see how you feel about it.
P.S. Did that Fritos pizza ultimately agree with you or do you regret eating it? :P
I'll most likely get to Saint's Row once I get done with GTA4. I wouldn't really say I'm forcing myself to play it, since if that were the case I would have just quit it again. Some of the missions are just fine, and I don't mind playing them at all. It's an extremely playable game. I just don't really care about the story or Niko.
I do have Lost & Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony, I played through those when they were first released, and both of them I liked better than GTA4 proper.
i totally agree. gta4 is fun, but the missions get a little repetitious and it goes on forever. ive never played lost and the damned, but ballad of gay tony is one of my favorite rockstar games.
It was such a weird coincidence that you guys talk about my two favourite games, Mass Effect and Red Dead Redemption, during this!
So I absolutely just have to offer my two cents and say that I think I and a lot of people were upset with the ME3 ending because it felt like nothing we as a player had done during the course of the game affected the outcome in anyway. I can absolutely live with Shepard dying, I don't care, but Idunno, I felt like the ending was random.
On that note, totally fine with the end of RDR, and I've always found Brad's love for it very cute :)
I absolutely loved the ending to Red Dead Redemption...
Mass Effect is good, but Bioware will never again match the awesomeness of Dragon Age: Origins.
You know what I want more of this if there's nothing to see for a midnight screening, it was fun just listening to you two shoot the shit.
This format should replace snobcast.
That was surprisingly entertaining. I wish you guys did more videos like this. =)
Brad, Have you seen a Cannon film called "the Company of Wolves"? this thing is nuts. it has Terence Stamp as the devil. it's little red riding hood, told by crazy people.
I just watched a movie with General Zod as the devil. WTF Cannon!? lol
i really need to watch more Cannon films.
Great video, Brad! You should do this more often. ^ ^
for xcom if you are playing the expansion pack on PC might i suggest Long War modification?
Also might i hit you up for some civ beyond earth?
That is genius xD NOTHING!
This is gonna be good!
The problem with mass effect 3 ending is not that shepard dies, but that:
1)You get to choose an ending, and whatever you choose you get the same ending only with a different color(the extended cut somewhat improved on this, but not much)
2)Your crew acts nothing like they were acting before(a problem with a lot of mass effect 2 and 3 actually)
3)Star childs logic is idiotic
4)That planet out of nowhere where normandy lands because of reasons
And a bunch of other things that I am to lazy to write out for the umpteenth time.
I'm pretty sure Jake got the point from the 20 other comments that say this exact same thing.
Hey, Brad, are you going to see the Babadook, if you get the chance. I really do feel like it would be your kind of movie.
I guess I shouldn't be mad that Brad spoiled a game that's over four years old. But I'm still mad. I only just started playing RDR dude!
Aww, I thought you were reviewing an unexpected rerelease of the movie called 'Nothing' by Vincenzo Natali.
Oh well, I still very much enjoyed the video.
FYI, the first person mode in GTAV is just an option, you can still play it in third person even in the new version
The funniest thing about the Mass Effect 3 thing for me is when fans would lash out at you for not hating the ending enough.
I didn't find the ending too bad, mostly because at that point the whole thing has blown up to ridiculous proportions so my expectations were lowered, and also I enjoyed my time with the series overall.
My experience was pretty much the same. I remember I played the games WAY late in their release, and *actively* avoided discussions about them online because I'm extremely anti-social like that. But I wasn't bothered by the ending so much (Only complaint was that it lacked variety, which made it feel rushed) and I voiced that to some of my friends at a bar. Some other people overheard me and jumped into the conversation to tell me how wrong I was for not hating the ending, which justified my agoraphobia.
Actually, the problem with the Mass Effect 3 ending was not Shepherd dying (which seems very appropriate), it was...you know what, never mind. As Jake says, it was still an awesome game in so many ways, I think those who hate the ending have mostly gotten past it by now. I feel the that way about the last 5 minutes of Battlestar Galactica. Most of the time.
You guys are fucking idiots. Or maybe you were just too tired because it was midnight. NOTHING was a PIECE OF SHIT. Worst movie i ever seen. The fact that you guys like it proves you know NOTHING about the art of cinema and are HACK FRAUDS.
Do more of these! I leave you guys running on my phone all of the time while I'm playing video games or driving and you do these five times a week and I would not get remotely tired of it
If you enjoyed Mass Effect, check out the new Dragon Age.
It's awesome, and has a Nightmare difficulty setting for us masochists.
Brad. Looking for an internship. Are you guys hiring?
Something you could have talked about: currently lowest on the imdb bottom 100 is Saving Chritmas. It's beating out Birdemic with 1.5 against 1.8.
Sadly, that will only make it more popular.
Just like Birdemic.
Can't wait for the inevitable sequel now.
about mass effect 3, it wasn't that shepard died that pissed people off, it was how no mater what you do, its all the fucking same. you kill the racni queen in the first game, they have a racni queen they find, you save her, they control her... its bullshit like that sprinkled through the game that makes it so bad. you also have to keep in mind that in the game, the way it seems was they were going for an indoctrination ending. they say no, but the people who made up the core of bioware quit shortly after the game was released, and fucked off the the game industry entirely, and i'm betting money everyone is under contract to not discuss anything about the game under threat of lawsuit... than you have shareholders suing ea over their incompetent handling over battlefield 4, putting in they forced multiplayer in the game, it seems the ending was sacrificed in order to make a launch date and rushing the game.
indoctrination makes sense, and its what most people accept as the true ending when they are pissed at what they got. and id ending would mean that everyone dies, and the only way shepard wakes up from it is the red ending. they cycle continues, and you failed to stop it... we didn't bitch about a our character died, we bitched because it was a shit ending when they promised the exact opposite not even 2 months prior to launch.
There's about 20 or 30 other people who have said the same thing, I think Jake gets it by now :P
ok, i just searched for mass and didn't see anyone mention this, or if they did they said it in parts.
if hes interested in it, point him to angry joe's video on it, its the best one i can think off of the top of my head... at the very least its interesting how much they put in the game to suggest indoctrination if you read into the lore, yet how many people call bullshit and bioware deny it...
By the way, I'm not sure if anyone said this... Sheppard doesn't die if you have over 2000 resource points, regardless of which ending you choose.
So Irving is going to go see Top5 for the site, right? Because that would be wonderful.
i personally hope Irving goes to see Selma.
When did they bring back Surge????
A couple of months ago. It's only available on Amazon.com though.
you guys need to make a podcast. or a baby whatever you know?
You guys should do this more often. It's so much easier to watch one of these than to pay 10 bucks to get into a movie just to see your review for it xD
Hey Brad, what would you say the most interesting game you've ever played is?
As far as interesting games, I think with me it's gotta be Darkfall 2: Light Out.
I don't know, as far as horror games go, I felt like that game had the most.... unique style.
So this might just be me, but I would have totally watched this if you guys were in the house and not freezing your asses off in the car. I appreciate your dedication, but you really don't have to put yourselves through that for my sake. I could certainly watch more of these Brad and Co. shoot the shit videos.
Remember guys, the Mass Effect 3 ending was waaaaaaay worse before all the DLC was added. The whole thing made basically no sense at all before the leviathan DLC.
I played it with all the DLC in there and I have to say: meh.
I have no problem with Shepard dying, I have a problem with how he died. Deus ex machina, instead of in an epic space battle where all the factions I had assembled throughout 3 long games actually mattered.
If it really had to be the starchild I would have liked my decisions to at least factor into the conversation. I mean he is going on and on about how AI and organics will always kill each other, while I had just brokered a symbiotic relationship between the Geth and the Quarians and what I believe to be a lasting peace. But I wasn't even allowed to argue that point, that maybe the creators of the reapers jumped the gun a little (much).
In general ME3 was a much weaker game than ME2, imo. Which is a shame, because that game was awesome.
Hahaha this is glorious, got to love Brad's commitment to putting out content.
hey brad, Saving Christmas has a $500,000 budget.
man, I don't exactly remember Silent Scope. I do remember playing arcade shooters like Terminator 2, Area 51, Time Crisis 2, The Lost World Jurassic Park, & Terminator Salvation. apparently, the movie theaters in my area has brand new arcade machines, and they are fun as hell. and when I mean new, I mean 2013/2014 brand spanking new. the 2 that I highly recommend you guys to check out if you can track them down are Batman & Aliens Armageddon. Batman is an arcade racer/shooter which you can pick any batmobile you want which I usually play as the 1989 Tim Burton batmobile. Aliens Armageddon is an on rail light gun shooter as you take out xenomorphs in a heavily damaged city taking out the dog aliens from Alien 3 and brand new xenomorphs which honestly I thought it looked like the same creatures from the original kenner toy line. let's hope Doom 4 turns out good in 2015.
This video was great.
