Heard this might be the next Foodfight!.
'Brad sitting in the theater with a mannequin after the Rapture'
See! ....I knew that Brian standee would be needed!
I especially love the consensus on Rotten Tomatoes stating "A pioneering feat in the field of twerking polar bear animation but blearily retrograde in every other respect, Norm of the North should only be screened in case of parental emergency." And based on your thoughts, I think this movie should only be viewed by prison inmates as punishment for misbehaving!
I think doing that to prisoners would violate the Geneva Convention ....hell bells, it'd probably constitute a war crime! :)
Maybe, but not even the Geneva Convention can protect anybody from watching this movie!
Man, between this, Nut Job, and the Road Chip, are you trying to make Allison leave? I hope not because I hope she joins Team Snob. Brad and her just work comedically ESPECIALLY during bad movies. Bring Phelan next time though for godawful kids movies!
It's back down to 0% on RT, so either that positive review got taken down or it was re-evaluated as negative. Considering that even Legends of Oz managed a 16%, that's pretty harsh - I can't remember any recent kid's movie on that site getting below 10% before, never mind 0%.
Oogieloves is 27% so they must give kid's movies some serious slack... we're talking the Fred movie, and Baby Geniuses 2 levels of shitness, to get a 0%
Ooh, another vlog with Allison! Are you working on some kind of project?
Apparently the production company's goal of this wasn't to make anything good, but just to create a direct-to-video franchise ala Alpha and Omega. They purposely went cheap (because why put effort in early) with like only *$18 million, and had no real strivent goals to making something enjoyable.
Literally, "That's marketable." That's this movie's entire purpose. Urgh.
It's Lionsgate's fault, why the heck did they want this movie in theaters again? It could have gone DTV and no one had noticed even more than they do now.
I could get behind Brad and Allison being the new Kids Movie Duo, though I hope Phelous gets more chances to join - Nut Job and Everest were two of the funniest Midnight Screenings in a long, long while.
I think Brad needs to find an actual kid to review these movies. For all those people who always say "It's a kids' movie!" when they get bad reviews. Brad, find a kid who's allowed to go out after midnight to review these movies with ya.
Allison looking really good!
Sarah going to see "50 Shades Of Black". Maybe.
I have no idea why Trevor Wall, or anyone else, wanted to make this story into a movie, and close examination of the film itself is no help. "Norm of the North" is one of the most unpleasant, contrived, artificial, cloying experiences I've had at the movies. To call it manipulative would be inaccurate; it has an ambition to manipulate, but fails.
The film stars Rob Schneider, who is a wonderful young actor (and if you don't believe me, watch his version of "The Stapler"). Here he is stuck in a story that no actor, however wonderful, however young, should be punished with. He plays a polar bear with inattentive lemmings, who decides to go into New York City, free himself of condos, and go on a worldwide search for nicer toilets.
I hated this movie. Hated hated hated hated hated this movie. Hated it. Hated every simpering stupid vacant audience-insulting moment of it. Hated the sensibility that thought anyone would like it. Hated the implied insult to the audience by its belief that anyone would be entertained by it.
I hold it as an item of faith that Trevor Wall is a gifted filmmaker; among his credits are... um.... uh... some episodes of a Sabrina the Teenage Witch cartoon... And Hero: 108... And... Zevo-3? What the fuck are any of these?
I do not often attribute motives to audience members, nor do I try to read their minds, but the people who were sitting around me on Monday morning made it easy for me to know what they were thinking. They talked out loud. And if they seriously believed the things they were saying, they were vicarious sex criminals.
This film is not only garbage on an artistic level, but that it is also garbage on the crude and base level where it no doubt hopes to find its audience. "Norm of the North" is not good art, It is not good cinema, and it is not good porn.
I liked it.
Does Allison, like, live in Springfield now, or something?
Is it just me, or does Allison look a little like Gwyneth Platrow?
I heard a rumor that this was almost put out as a direct to video instead of the theater? I don't know who decided "yes this is theater quality" but they did. I hope Secret Life of pets and Zootopia make more than this film ://
"A TALKING BEAR?!! :B"
Well speaking of talking bears and cats, you guys (especially Allison) need to check out "Cool Cat Saves the Kids"! I guess that was a thing floating around YouTube, especially Daddy Derek vs. I Hate Everything and copyright fair use laws. Or, according to Derek Savage, "LAWLL"
