The end twist nothing you can't see coming? what the fuck, the twist was out of nowhere and made no sense & made earlier parts of the move make less sense!!!
My little history major heart was warmed immensely with Dave's rant about the Da Vinci Code. Thanks for that, man.
Also, aside from the children's movie reviews, this was one of the funniest Midnight Screenings you guys have done – especially with Brad constantly popping up and down in the back like a whack-a-mole to give commentary and Dave just not being able to deal with the offensive shenanigans that he and Irving get up to when put together.
after earth, your thing about Rome is because even thou the empire fell people still lived there, so a 1000yrs without human presence is plenty of time to remove most evidence of our exist on the earth.
Oh boy!.... now it's *my* turn to be 'that guy'....
From your discussion about the 'Rancor' critter putting its victims on spikes, there actually IS precedent in Nature: birds called Shrikes. Their species designation comes from the Latin word for 'butcher', because of their feeding behaviors. They are known for their habit of catching prey and impaling their bodies on thorns, the spikes on barbed-wire fences or any available sharp points; often a bush can be covered with small corpses as these birds construct their larders.
I'd bet money that's where the writers got the whole idea from.
Thanks for sharing the information,
