Brad, you're a genius. The furries are going to love it.
Ha! My subjects in the Furry Fandom will LOVE this, because I love this! You truly have outdone yourself, Sir Jones!
Without even watching it, i know it will be awesome
I liked it. The voices are well done, and the animation is nice. It's just weird you used a british guy (Film Brain) to do an african american lol. Brad and Jillian did a very good with the voice acting, which in turn I like there characters as well. Allison did a good job as well. Kind of sucks you killed the character Lewis did lol
he was just african until the last second.
They should just rename the series How I Met Your Cinema Snob, and have Brad die in the end from.....cancer probably?
To quote the great Frylock
"He's not African American he's African... uhh... African..."
Dude, it's in Africa which was a British colony...makes perfect sense
Yes, the whole of Africa was a British colony o_O
man i was JUST watching roger rabbit...funny.
Also Film brain sounds really good as a sub saharan african child. that overly optimistic nievity.
Also chicago noire accent was just iceing on the cake.
With Lloyd sounding like a skinny Eddie Valiant with fur, it would be fitting if Roger Rabbit make a guest appearance in a future episode! Plus, it's wonderfully animated! I feel bad for Sarah voicing the annoying aliens, but she's quite a pro!
Actually, I think it'd be more likely if Rosie Rabbit showed up. Or her asshole boyfriend.
I think he was just Saharan
OMG, that didn't even sound like Sarah, but she did those voices. Wow, that's talent.
Holy Nuke-Shits, that was SARAH!? Well, now I won't be able to not think of the Puke-Dookem' Duo every time I see her in a midnight screening.
Incidentally, I don't suppose we can get a kickstarter going for Lloyd-Approved Nine-Lives Bourbon, can we?
Great job, man. :)
Does that tiki count as black face?
So will Lloyd's next case involve helping a woman who's tormented by her talking vagina? Or maybe Dan could hire him to help track down Smitty.
Ohhh, we gotta have an 80s Dan Christmas special to continue the search for Smitty with Lloyd!
Maybe even get an animated Frat Grandma cameo in.
He's hunting an escaped yetti and ends up shooting a kid.
Or goes to investigate murders at a sleepaway camp.
The sleepaway camp idea is rife with potential. I would love to see Lloyd's delivery of the line "THAT'S a dick!"
Lloyd has a dark fucking past.
No one he's usually blitz out his mind.
How about investigating the mystery of BALLOONLAND?
Wow, this is way better than True Detective.
I'm going to come out and say it: judging by just this episode, this show might be one of the best things you've done. There's so much you can do with the character. My only small gripes are, I feel it should have an intro, or at the very least, its own noir-ish theme. But, hey, it's just the pilot episode.
How often will new episodes be released?
I guess it makes sense why you cut the chimpanzee scene. Alex Jowski's audio wasn't up to the quality of the other recordings, and it wouldn't make sense to mention the surprise of chimpanzees talking when ALL animals in this show can already talk. Good call.
Very interesting use of music. I like it. Just make sure in future episodes that it doesn't try to drown out the dialogue. Not that I could't hear any of the talking, I have no real problems with the overall audio. I just recommend you don't make the music stand out too often unless it's really supposed to either for comedic purposes or if it's for really dramatic moments. That being said, the music is very professional. Did you get an actual music composer for this? It's basically movie or TV quality of original music.
I'm very happy with how this turned out! I hope more episodes come soon!! KEEP IT UP, BRAD!! THIS IS AWESOME!!
I think the chimp scene was exclusive for Patreon supporters.
Well this was better than True detective.
I have to say i really like how whoever did the art direction (need to watch the credits again) got the color scheme down correctly.
so many animators make flash toons look like an eyesore of colors and dont follow the 2 to 1 ration with a fixed pallet for a scene.
No idea if thats what was going through their mind, but the end result is near tv quality. I expect a few episodes down when they get the gist of the movements down and everything its going to be superb.
Better then game boys! I know my friends who are gay furry's will love it! Great work Brad!
You sure they're not Gay Furies? Warriors cosplay is so hot in the club scene right now.
Are you gaz from cod 4?
Alas, I regret to inform you I'm not a fictional character. Although after googling the gentlemen in question, I must say his moustache would go down a treat with the Gay Furies.
(Gaz is short for Gareth or Gary, and is very common here in England)
A gay furry's what, I may ask?
A gay person that like to fuck humanoid animals.
No, I asked "a gay furry's what sort of thing?" You did mention a "gay furry's ..." but did not specify.
brad tries the musical...that's fucking hilarious
LLoyd and Chloe were great everything else was terrible. This has a lot of promise so I'm still interested.
One of my favourite parts was the brief clip containing references to other shows, like the Midnight Screenings Theater showing "Brad Tries: The Musical." The whole episode was great!
I wasn't crazy about this episode but I certainly enjoyed it more than The Reviewers/80's Dan and the like. Should be interesting to see where this show goes.
Great job on the character design and animation though. The presentation is there I just don't think the script/jokes were all that strong.
"80s Dan Saves Hannukah 2: The Dreideling"
WHAT?! Oh my god, I think that's my favourite one. :'D
I really like the attention to detail that shows with all those background (and foreground) jokes.
Are all episode plots going to be mostly in-jokey about something else from the site? Because I've got a feeling this show could also work just fine on its own.
The only thing I didn't like was that Chloe didn't seem to have much of a character yet, but I'm sure that's going to change.
I just posted this comment without a captcha coming up. That's odd. O_o
I knew something looked wrong when I wrote it, but then I forgot to check. (Sorry for spamming.)
I thought this episode was okay. A lot of the jokes worked especially Lloyd's dialogue. But the "Dookie"/Nukie-parody characters were too annoying which I know is the point, but they really got on my nerves especially their voices. I really want to see where this series goes, especially since Dookie and his brother never going to return, hopefully...
I'd also like to say I really like that "hang in there" human sign. Are those for sale by any chance?
Please tell me there are behind the scenes shots of Sarah doing those voices. We need this, and from now on she'll have to do the midnight screenings in that voice.
Also, great new show, can't wait to see more.
Brad, I gotta say, that was fantastic. I laughed out loud several times, the animation was pretty solid, and the voice acting was amazing.
Very glad you did this, hope we get more.
Nice work to everyone involved! The voices, Toonwerks' brilliant animation, the backgrounds...just...awesome!
I didn't like it. It's unfunny, uninteresting, the animation is mediocre, and Sarah's voice is annoying.
Brad, I have to ask: Do you not have any black/ african american friends? Or was Film Brain picked to do that voice on purpose?
Thinking on it some more, having Film Brain lend his voice to that particular role was odd. I don't know--in general, I find the way he sounds kind of grating.
Perhaps Malcolm from CA would've been a better fit.
Does Malcolm from CA sound like a little boy?
(Hint: the answer is No. He doesn't.)
Wait, isn't that how the Cinema Snob Movie started?
We're gonna have to call Gene and get us some more black actors.
He probably has no black friends that are prepubescent boys -- or can pass for one, voicewise.
It's an interesting concept and I'd like to see where it goes. I like how you managed to capture just how annoying 'Dookie' and his brother were with their voices. Though I shudder at what else Lloyd could investigate, especially if you're going to parody things the Snob has reviewed. I'm dreading the day Lloyd gets called to investigate E.T. raping people or something....
This is quality work! I really enjoy it. You can mark me as someone who would absolutely love to buy a Lloyd DVD.
The Snob DVDs are Lloyd approved.
Does that mean the "Lloyd" DVD's will be Brad Approved?
DOOOOOOOOKIE!!!! DOOOOOOOKIE!!!! DOOOOOOOOKIE!!!!
What monkey? There was never any monkey. Anyway, are you gonna do Las Vegas Bloodbath at some point?
This was fantastic. I'm excited for the next episode. Major props to Sarah's voice acting! :) you all did wonderfully well. This must have taken a lot of hard work to put together and I'm appreciative of that!
I'm speechless. Absolutely amazing.
Not going to lie, when I saw this appear on YouTube, I got a massive erection and fell over.
Brava Brad. Love the start of this series. Plus it is cool that your sexy voice has such an affinity for voice over work. Lol. Stay classy friend and keep up the good work.
Baba Booey! Baba Booey! Howard Stern's penis! Baba Booey!
That was wonderful! Great voice work. Looking forward to more. DOOKIE!
Great job. Reminded me of Duckman.
Shhhh, don't give 'em idea, or else we'll see Dookie and his brother become recurring guest characters! Granted they'll always die, but it also means they'll keep coming back!
"Mister Duckman, why did you eviscerate us with a hot curling iron?"
The blinking effects on Dookie and the other one are fucking stellar.
Jowski as "The Monkey"?!
I am confused, did I miss that?!
I think that was from a Patreon-exclusive scene
I want BRAD TRIES: THE MUSICAL(A Story of Diarrhea )
And REVENGE OF THE BIG BOX!! DO MAOR
I am really digging this so far. Definitely looking forward to more of the sleuthing adventures of Lloyd.
WHERE'S THE FUCKING THOR REVIEW.
That's a problem on Blip's end, not mine, they're the only one's who can fix it, and I've written to them many times about it.
You got an animated talking Chicagoan cat detective and your only thought was the missing thor review?
Hilarious Brad. Can't wait to Lloyd's version of E.T. the Porno or Super Hornio Brothers. Maybe Italian Batman?
Wait, I have a better idea. Turkish spoof involving ninjas and Cuneyt Arkin.
Nicely done Brad. Kinda felt like Archer in every good way. I wasn't planning on actually watching this show but... I think I'll have to follow it every time it shows up now. Impressively solid opening there.
Reminded me more of Bob's Burgers for some reason, particularly in the music.
I'd like to see big Jake Grizzly and blubber make an appearance.
They're looking for the Yeti but they meet up with the Geek instead.
This is the gritty remake "Garfield: babes and bullets" was long overdue for
Holy crap! I thought the animation looked familiar...it's the same dude, well part of a team now, that did the The Ring to Rule Them All on Newgrounds all those years ago.
Lloyd. Your wit is as barbed as your... um, nevermind.
This was so much better than I ever could have imagined. One note though, you should do some noise elimination on your recordings brad, I could noticeably tell when you press the stop recording button.
I got Nukie PTSD from this despite laughing my ass off. Reminded me of what I used to admire in Family Guy before season 4 and beyond.
I can't prove it on here but if you ever need a Judd Crandall from Pet Semetary voice I'm the best & I'm free!
That was Sarah!? Damn, she is good at doing voices.
Like it a lot!
Now we need a stuff figure of Film Brain's character calling us "Bitch Tits!", Nine Lives Bourbon, a subsidiary of SnobCo, Inc., and officially licensed BDSM gear!
Hahahaha! Oh my fuck! Way too much comedic moments to quote. Good work Cinema Snob.
Hey! that was pretty good! The production values are great, and the voice acting is pretty darn good, specially Brad and Jillian (Film Brian was also very awesome, but yeah, he sounded like film Brian) Special nod for Sarah's annoying aliens, so well done! and Alison as Loyd's date was nice, didn't even realize it was her. (Please, have her voice a character like Radu, pretty please)
I don't really believe that was really Steve Railsback. Last time I saw him he was in outer space with a naked space woman.
That was amazing. I love the proper utilization of Team Snob and Channel Awesome partners to round out the voice cast. I would especially love to see a cameo by Noah Antwiller and Todd Nathanson. I know Spoony is tight with Team Snob though I'm not so sure about Todd, still he would be great as unseen shadowy guy.
Lewis Lovhaug cameo!
plz no more high-pitched alien guy
I am so glad this came out. I am going to love watching this later.
I have to say, this is really great. When I saw the screen shots, I cringed a little, plus I don't get the fan obsession with Brad's cat (no offense to Lloyd). But I enjoyed this. I snorted coffee out of my nose when they showed the Railsback Medical Center.
I think Night of Horror is much, much more horrid film than Nukie. At least with Nukie, things actually happen within the course of the film. With Night of Horror, it just drags on and on until they merry band finds the Halloween candy skull and buries it.
well that was awesome
Oh my god, this was awesome! The animation is excellent, the voice acting is spot-on, and the humor is just perfect. From the dry, semi-depressing Lloyd to the unbelievably irritating aliens, everything was just great.
This will be great if Film Brain isn't in another second of it.
Just wanted to get in on the commenting and say Great Job you guys i really enjoyed this.
I now have a new favorite show.
Long time fan, first time commenter on the site. First of all, good job on a very well made cartoon. The script was well done and you got together a very good cast. Major props to Toonwerks for the attention to detail, not just on the character animation but also the backgrounds and the various easter eggs I found during multiple viewings. The "human spider" want ad made me chuckle and Lloyd bringing Chloe her foreign McDonalds made me smile. Congratulations on the show's warm reception and I look forward to new episodes.
I appreciate the fact that Moko's eyes barely work just like in the movie
