Love all the movies you've worked on. Always such great sound tracks and interesting characters and the dialogue is usually either smooth and bad ass or cool and funny, just fun in general.

I own all your stuff on DVD but for stuff like Game Boys and Hooker with the Golden Heart, and Midnight Heat, I've had to make my own DVD covers just so I bootleg a copy for my collection. (Damn those music rights!)

Thanks for all your hard work and creativity through the years.

I admittedly put off seeing this one for a long time. The reason being that I, quite frankly, don't really give two shits about video games. That's not to say that I dislike video games, they just don't mean that much to me. The other night I was bumming around your site (A common ritual for me) and I finally break down and watch Game Boys. And much to my surprise.........I fucking loved it.

You've crafted a grounded, and realistic comedy that encompasses alot of what made independent film great in the 1990's: Quirky, zany characters, fluent profanity, pre-recorded music and constant pop culture references. Every single character is likable (Even the video game-smuggling hoods) yet still a bit of a dick. And the unabashed nerdiness just had me smiling throughout it's entire run time.

Not sure if you'll ever read this, but I remember watching this when you first put it up and it was a little after my break up. Sure as hell made me smile then and it worked again. Even if I was always more of a Sonyboy.

I've been a fan of snob for a few months but have just started watching your movies. I enjoyed the hell out of Freak Out, Cheap, and Midnight Heat, but I got to say Game Boys is the most polished and fluid of them so far.
I'm watching the films in order so I haven't seen paranoia, hooker, etc yet. Game Boys really showcased your great comedy chops. Plus its great waxing nostalgia with the old school game talk.

Very fun to watch.

The beginning reminds me of a conversation that one would hear in a Tarantino movie.

This movie is what would happen if Quentin Tarantino played a lot of video games, and wrote a movie about it, then decided to have it shot on shitteo just for... I don't know; but somehow despite the camera quality it still manages to be fucking awesome.

Also gotta say, the British accent sounds way more realistic in this movie than it does in the cartoons... or maybe it's just the fact that she's hot.

11:00 minutes into the movie I start to lose interest because of lack of plot by this point, but I'm still captivated by the dialogue and the grey atmosphere (grey is after all my favorite color, no joke).

After watching the movie for about an hour, I was finally able to figure that this was hands down the best romantic comedy I've ever watched... unless you count Princess Bride, that would make this the second best.

This was surprisingly well done. I actually felt a connection the Brad throughout the entire thing. The climax of the story was definitely when Brad and the girl were standing out on the porch together, I was worried he was going to lose her... I get the feeling that's how it would have been in real life, that kind of makes me sad...

But yeah, Jake's character was by far my favorite in the entire story, him and Carter. However, for confusion's sake I think you should have named Carter something other than Carter because saying "Get Carter" immediately makes me think of the Michael Caine movie (I.E. one of my favorite movies ever).

The soundtrack was very good, I don't think I've ever seen a movie where "Don't Stop Believing" was put in a fitting situation... as much as I fucking hate that song, it was put in it's perfect position just right so even guys like me who hate the song can love the movie for using it.

This movie is entertaining, it's cool, and it's down right inspiring. I almost cried of enjoyment in the end.

Thank you so much for making this, this was truly a work of art, and I think it's one of the most beautiful (emphasis on beautiful) movies I've seen in quite a while. Thank you Brad... you made God himself smile with this movie.

I don't think it's an English accent... Sounds more Australian to me (an Aussie myself.)
Or maybe it came out sounding Aussie when she was trying for English.

I always forget how good this movie is. Great story, great characters, great comedy! What ever happened to the leading lady, Bianca? She was definitely one of the best actresses from the old-school "Stoned Gremlin Productions."

Very nice. My only complaint is the sound quality. The voices could have been clearer at times. But whatev.
I have to wonder if kids who grew up in the 2000's have the same fond memories like we do, but I just can't imagine they do. The late 70's until the early 90's was without a doubt the peak for pop culture, from video games to movies to TV to comic books to toys. Of course there was plenty of shit, but we called it shit. Now the shit is marketed until it becomes mainstream success, somehow. There is still plenty of good stuff today, but you have to work a little to find it and the funny thing is the parents today play video games too.
Anyhow this movie made me feel like it was still 1996 again, so thanks

God, I love this movie. Watching it for the second time and it is still really well done. Of course it has it's problems, all of which y'all have fixed in your more recent films, but this is still one of my favorites.

Can we get an HD re-release of this please? It took me forever to sack up and watch this and man, I shouldn't have waited so long.

This movie was so much better than I expected it to be, and really entertaining. It's nice to see one where I don't feel bad for liking the characters and no-one gets brutally murdered (although I love those ones too!)

Lmao, cinema snobbery at its finest. The opening shot of the movie has "taste". I must ask if that's intentional.

Hey,

Just wanted to say that I’m glad this vid works for me again!(I don’t know what the problems were, and honestly I don’t really care)
This is one of my most favorite movies, and I watch it at least once a year! Regarding the dialogue to me it’s en par with Clerks, the acting, directing and editing is great, and it’s about video games. What else is there to say?

Maybe just a thank you to Brad for making stuff I always enjoy to a massive dregree ;)
