The cat acts like he's the cops friend but he's secretly the mastermind of all the crime

Yes, that would be good. Plus the parking lot rapist sounds a lot like the same guy who kidnapped Elizabeth Smart years back.

Does the cat from Early Edition count as a crime-fighter for bringing the newspaper?

Cats don't fight crime. That's too much like... work.

I'm guessing Lloyd does not give two flying shits about any of this. He understands around a few dozen words of English, and most of them pertain to his cat food...

With the early 90's clothes and talking sidekick, I'm getting an 80's Dan vibe from this show.

So the prospect of a character getting injured is the easiest way for us to come back for more. Aside from this entertaining retrospective.

Hey Brad, another great episode on a show I'm actually now going to watch, because of this retrospective special treatment you're giving to this show. Anyway, I was wondering whether or not you were aware of the next slate of AMC re-release screenings coming up. And that for the week of May 3rd and May 6th it will be Big Trouble In Little China. If you see that one, do you think you can do it with Spoony (Noah Antwiller)? Not trying to make a forceful request or anything, I'm really not, but I can;t help but think how cool it would be for you to watch it with him, especially since he;s always made it clear on his show that's his favorite movie all time. After all, he reviewed the game back in August. Anyway, keep up the great work, not excluded to this retrospective. And hope you get to reflect Kurt Russell - goodness next month! {Fingers crossed} :D

You sent me scrambling to the AMC website, which has no way for anyone to find a goddamn schedule for their Classic series. Seriously, it was one of the worst web experiences I've ever had.

Been waiting for this all week, had the biggest smile on my face the whole way through. I think what really sells these episodes is how fucking PASSIONATE Brad is about what is ultimately a completely goofy piece of nonsense. This could have so easily been done in that 'laugh at the so-bad-its-good, ironic enjoyment' tone of reviewing which is so common nowadays.

The plot point about the Miranda warning is idiotic because cops don't have to immediately give one when arresting, it must only be given to the criminal before he appears before the court. The reason why cops usually do it is because you can't use anything the suspect says if he's not given his rights, failing to do give a Miranda warning immediately would never be a reason to release someone from custody. That's typical Hollywood law with no semblance to reality, because screenwriters looove letting criminals free on technicalities.

Some of us expect more research put into the actual criminal procedures, especially in what's supposed to be a cop drama.

I think someone said this before. Anyway, yeah, I felt that way too. I guess it's because it's a crappy show being reviewed in an enthusiastic tone (which admittedly isn't always the case, but she usually seems to having fun). But yeah, definitely can see her reviewing this.

If the dog actually does solve most of the crimes and takes dangerous risks, that's brilliant. There's potential for some extremely original character stuff there.

Garcia's daughter is actually Donald Bellisario's daughter -- who helped her dad develop the show.

Brad, I am now very interested in buying this series on DVD. Since there hasn't been an official release, I'm assuming you got it as a DVD-R (or made your own). Where would you reccomend that I can get this series at a reasonable price?

Never realized Marishka Hargitay played two characters who had a rapist break into their house... who were both cops hunting down said rapist.

These episode recaps and this talking dog show itself is everything I never knew I really really wanted in life!! (seriously, I'm torrenting the thing as I type, although a lack of seeds is making it hard. I would feel bad about torrenting the show if I had any hope of finding a cancelled 1992 tv show legally.)

I don't know what I was doing at the 01.24.1992, but I do know what I did 05.16.1993, the day the episode was aired over here. I was a child, watching a dog piss a rapist.
