It begins... make me proud, fellas!
I really found it funny when Brad popped up as a person who can't control his murderous impulses.
Also, it was great seeing them making fun of Noah's departure from That Guy with the Glasses.
FIRST. . . whoop de doo!
Why couldn't Snob co-review this, he's actually funny!
Sorry, sorry. Wasn't 1st, I'm so sad.
What's so damn special about Spooner being here?
Never mind, I don't care.
Critic was funnier before he got his sidekicks.
FINALLY, somebody who understands!
Though good thing you didn't post your comment on the TGWTG page for this episode, or all of NC's fanbase would have you sacked.
It's nothing against them, I just preferred solo (& rare crossover w/ Snob) reviews.
In fact that's where I 1st heard of "the Cinema Snob" , but then I also loved it when the NOSTALGIA critic talked about stuff that was, you know. . . nostalgic.
Yeah... I don't have anything against Malcolm or Tamara (or Rachel) as performers because they do seem like they might do a decent job given good material, but I have to say that most of the skits they shove into the newer NC reviews are like a giant anchor around the neck of those videos.
It's only been a year and half since NC came back and the writing already feels tired, sad to say.
Not sure why Brad's cameos were so much funny than the rest of the video, but he does have impeccable delivery and comic timing.
To be fair, the Critic has ALWAYS had sidekicks. Before Malcolm, Tamara, and Rachel, he had people like Rob and Bargo and countless cameos and crossovers. He seems great at working with others and probably has fewer solo vids and collab vids. So I don't know what you mean when you say "before he got his sidekicks."
And it's great that Spoony is here because he is HILARIOUS!
You win, sir.
Honestly, I haven't watched every single video Critic has done, only the ones featuring movies/topics that interest me (comic book related movies, ect. . .), & he's solo in most of them.
But I'm sorry to offend anyone, different tastes is all.
Hooray, the long-awaited sequel to their "Alone in the Dark" review format!
That.. wasn't that good. All of jokes were really predictable, and unfunny.
That...was a very pleasant surprise. I was hoping I'd get to see those three together again. Plus, Brad shows up.
By the way, you look fabulous in HD! You should totally consider getting a better....
How do these written-by-four-people things work? Did you write any of your lines? Did everyone show up with their own stuff? Or did Doug and Rob have, like, 90% of it written, and left some blanks for Lewis and Noah to ad-lib?
It varies a bit. Sometimes a review has no script other than a few vague ideas and it's being written/filmed while we watch the movie for the second or third time. Other times one person writes the bulk of the script (like 99% of it) and then sends it to the other person to get their own input and stuff like "I'd never say that, I'd say this" or the like. In the case of this one, Doug prefers we watch the movie, take notes on it, and then send the notes in to him to make jokes out of. Sometimes we'll make up stuff on the actual day of filming, like the bit with Madsen getting shot and exploded and having no reaction.
Hey, Linkara. Don't think you've ever replied to me before (not that I'd trust my memory too serious). New kinda tickled goin' on.
One more question (last one, I swear): What was the impetus for this meet-up? A months-ago decision to review another Uwe Boll-pic, with lotsa prep and professionalism and such? A con meet-up in greater Chicago (I hear of cons, but I seriously don't know them, I blame my geneological pre-banishment to the further corners of the world/US)? Big kegger at Doug's? I'm not a Twitterati, so I don't keep up with all'a y'alls movements, stalker-like, so this was a TOTAL surprise when I saw it this morning. I so loved the AitD vid. From, like, WAAAAY back, gotta say. So very happy to be caught totally unawaresingly re: the sequel.
And...well...gotta admit, so very, very happy to see Spoony back with greater Channel Awesome. I felt his absence. Hope he don't keep himself a stranger in the future.
Hey look, the "I can't review a comic book to save my life" guy is here. Here's a tip, actually read the comic fully before starting a review.
Your crazy persona is so great Brad. You should definitely try an impersonation of hannibal.
I was Sad when Brad didn't pop up for and ending joke. You were hysterical in this. Who's idea was it for you to be the un-phased homicidal cultural dial? Was that something Linkara/Doug wrote or was that yours from the beginning?
Going to be completely honest. The Uwe Boll interview you guys did on Radiodrome a while back enlightened me about how this movie worked. Because of that, I have an appreciation for the Boll that makes me soften up on the guy, especially when it comes to "Bloodrayne".
Also, yeah, Ben Kingsley's hair does summarize this entire movie.
I squeed so hard when I saw Spoony was in this video, I couldn't believe it at first. And then The Cinema Snob showed up, and I totally lost it. I needed this video, made my month. This is way more fun than the last couple anniversary movies.
Also, Brad your acting skills are fantastic! You were so believable, even though the stuff you said was so bizarre. I really do wish you show up in a major film or tv show one day, because you would steal every scene.
It's been a day since I watched this and I'm still at a loss as to how this got at least 2 sequels.
This movie came out on my birthday and went to see it in theaters with a friend. We walked out of the movie wondering wtf we just watched and just raged about hw bad the movie was.
oh yay for another movie that makes you wonder why Michelle Rodriguez isn't the lead.
wait. actually that is every movie with Michelle Rodriguez.
well at least they did the running in the street gag in a way that looks more realistic than the running in the street gag from "Godzilla Vs King Ghidora" 1991 (the most hilarious part of that entire movie).
Best part of the review: When Brad shows up for the second time watch Noah's hair when they all look away. It's just stunning. So majestic and wavy.
brads bits with the undead and ignored killings remind me of Dellamorte Dellamore a little.
That's okay, Spoony, we forgive you...
Nick from Time Chasers apparently didn't go to Castleton either and we still loved him.
This video wasn't funny at all, it was just plain wooden to see all the "personalities" play their part. Also it seems you guys didn't even watch the film so I take it your just stupid, plain and simple.
NC was funny years ago. Linkara was funny even more years ago, when he just started out. Spoony is still funny, but has long droughts between jolts of activity. Brad on the other hand is the gold standard of reviewers: he consistently produces consistently funny videos. Even places that loath literally everyone on TGWTG love Brad.
Bard was great in this. His reactions were perfect.
"What the hell is wrong with everyone!"
