You should see the youtube comments, Someone actually apologized. I think that may be a first in the site history.

The only one who apologized is the one who didn't really have a reason to apologize for anything. He just asked another poster what he was talking about.

so Brad gets invited to New York Comic Con, is doing C2E2, and does a talk show out in LA; meanwhile jake is broke, toothless and delivers pizzas. haha

Dude. HARSH.

Anyway, what talk show in LA are you talking about, and where can I see it?

He talked about it a bit on Twitter. He was there for a new Marvel talk show called Off the Rack. Ron Funches was also a guest, Brad posted a picture of the two of them in the green room. On a sidenote, I think Jake deserves all the hate he gets. Harsh but true.

Ouch. I know Jake's exit was acrimonious but do we have to stomp on his name. I enjoyed his contributions.

After what that scumbag did, stomping on his already tarnished name doesn't come anywhere close to matching the awfulness that got him fired.

Kirk

I'm not personally involved but I am aware of the events as reported. I suppose that crapping on the guy seems...inelegant, however deserved it is.
If he and Brad ever bury the hatchet, great, but unless that (extraordinary unlikely event) happens I'd rather just forget about him.

I mention this only as personal taste. I'm not trying to argue.

I'm with Kirk. As scummy as what he did was...I also want to believe that people can change, can regret their actions, and can make amends with friends they've wronged. And I want to believe Jake is capable of that, because before Stuff Went Down, he seemed like an otherwise okay guy going through a severely rough time in his life.

SJS
12/3/2015 05:12:29 am

I totally agree with Kirk. I know the chances of Jake and Brad patching things up are extremely low, you never know what can happen. I mean Jerrid eventually came back. Yes, I know what Jake did was wrong, but at the end of the day, all that I really cared about about Team Snob was their content and not their personal lives.

Brad
12/3/2015 08:09:12 am

@Morhek
Then you must also believe in Santa Claus.

@SJS
Jerrid and I just simply had different work ethics, that's a vastly different situation, and we're still friends.

I'd prefer this not come up in comments at all, since it's the only time I ever really think about that shit. But I'll say this, this is the absolute WRONG place to come to to try to defend Jake.

Morhek
12/3/2015 01:08:39 pm

@Brad: fair enough. I'll try not to mention it again.

Serious question, why does Todd wear the mask in cons? people already know what he looks like

Kirk

I believe he's commented on this before. Something to the effect that its so integral to his shtick that he isn't recognized.
Also, he enjoys the anonymity it brings since not everyone actually has seen images of his uncovered face.

I'm surprised Brad didn't say that Kingsman was his favorite. I liked Kingsman way more than I liked Mad Max.

Van

Which means Brad also has to like it better than Mad Max?

@Van.

That's not what I'm saying at all. I'm just saying, Kingsman: The Secret Service is a better movie than Mad Max Fury Road. It has a better message, better action, better actors, better acting, better story, better camerawork, better scripting, etc.

I thought it would at least get an honorable mention, that's all I'm saying. I'm not trying to be a dick and force my opinions on others. I'm just surprised because earlier this year, Brad and his comrades were really freaking out about Kingsman, in the good way.

Van
12/2/2015 09:39:37 pm

You're not trying to force your opinion are others, yet you're stating your opinion as a solid absolutist fact and are shocked Brad would think differently than you?

Brad
12/2/2015 09:47:47 pm

Kingsman is definitely a great movie, and it'll most likely make my "best of" list at the end of the year. I had to think off the top of my head on the panel, so obviously not everything is going to come to me right away. I see about 200 movies a year, so when I'm asked a question like this, my mind is immediately going to go towards the most recent stuff I've seen.

All of that stuff is your opinion though, and I don't have to share it. I love Kingsman, but I liked Fury Road better.

Rhody

@Brad

I understand. And it's cool, we all have different tastes, I respect yours. Sorry if I sounded like I was being hostile.

I'm just a little crazy for Kingsman, I walked out of the theater feeling like I just got a handjob from Santa Claus.

By the way, I'm excited to see the "best of" list for this year. This year had some good movies!

Oliver Smith

Right on Brad! Fury Road is the best movie of 2015.

Kingsman came out December 13th 2014... Would have had to have gone into the best of for last year.

@King Kool

I'm wondering if Kingsman will get any awards come award season. I know it got two Empire Awards in England, but I wonder if it will qualify as a 2015 movie when the Academy awards are given out. It was released in the UK in 2014 but released in America in 2015. So... I wonder what the rules are when it comes to stuff like that.

Inquisitor

You're absolutely right King Kool... Came out in America on February 13th... My bad.

Yup. League of Super Critics just recently uploaded her latest Loose Canon on Nightcrawler. I think she's still trying to find a decent video-hosting website after Blip was terminated (which is why her website Chez Apocalypse is still down, she's attempting to give it a re-haul while looking for a new video-hosting site). I think she might've mentioned on her Twitter (or somewhere) that she really didn't want to start posting videos on YouTube as a hosting site, like what most of Channel Awesome has had to do after Blip shut down, so she's been fiddling around with other hosting sites. Plus, I know she mentioned on her blog Brand Name Lindsay that one of her cameras that she records with (Camera A) kicked the bucket earlier this year, and had to put Booze Your Own Adventure on hiatus and why we didn't get a Pumpktober this year with Elisa and Nella. (Camera A being the one they used to shoot BYOA and Pumpktober.)

Dear Brad,

I'm just a random fan of you and the other critics. At Comic Con NY this year, I asked a really stupid question if you preferred The Nostalgia Chick or Nostalgia Critic. I just wanted to apologize because you do an amazing job, (plus your Harrison Ford question is kick ass) I have nothing against you guys, and I hope I didn't offend you.

@Adam Grunther

I was wondering about that question. It's cool. I mean I bet you probably spooked a few of the people on the panel with the question but I think it's alright.

Since you couldn't get an answer out of them on their opinions, I'll answer to your question with my own.

I don't know which one I prefer. I always felt that Nostalgia Chick and Nostalgia Critic share the same issues. They both pick easy targets for reviews, are unironically sadistic, go long ways to nitpick, have rare moments of humor, and use reaction humor way too often despite it being their worst strength.

I think the only two movie critics I watch are Nash and Cinema Snob. Nash's videos are very well written. Cinema Snob's videos are written with occasional dashes of self parody that makes his reviews seem to have a lighter, more comedic tone to them.

It all comes down to that ethos and pathos. I watch Nash for the ethos, Snob for the pathos.

Unlike Nostalgia Critic, Nash actually seems like he knows his shit when it comes to analyzing a story and/or film.
