Yeah, I think blip has made some updates to their shit so that that delay doesn't happen anymore. So finally, hopefully, that joke can die once and for all.

It still happens occasionally. Not as often as it used to be, thankfully.

Brad, you gotta make "Heaven Is For Real To Prove God's Not Dead By Saving Christmas, With Birdman." Seriously. Have Sarah play "Michelle Keaton" and cast Slaver Brian and Dave as the religious guys.

Slaver Brian IS religious. He keeps the black people subordinate, in what he considers their natural, God-ordained state. He lets Leddy run the plantation while he a-wanders, a preacher man dressed in white, to preach the Gospel of the Lord.

Sadly, for me, I just can't watch apocalypse movies, they just make me way too sad. There's a big difference between apocalypse movies like The Final Hours and a post apocalypse movie like Mad Max. An apocalypse movie just plain has no hope, none whatsoever, and I just can't watch a movie like that, it's too damned depressing. I know films like this and Melancholia and Seeking a Friend for the End of the World are well made and considered good by many, but I just can't get behind a movie with zero hope to it.

The thing about Mad Max is though that its kind of mid-apocalypse. Through the whole thing everyone is trying to keep a hold of their lives. The police force is getting stretched further and further. The gangs are getting worse and worse, and even Max realises that there's no real difference anymore.

Seeking a Friend, does have some hope. 50 year old loser bags kira Knightley and they live out the rest of their lives in loved up bliss. Not exactly the worse way to go.

In all actuality, "These Final Hours" is really nothing more than just an Australian version/retelling of "Seeking a Friend For The End of The World" (a movie starring Steve Carell and Kira Nightley, which came out in 2012), this movie is almost a literal shot-for-shot Australian take on that, just like "Vanilla Sky" was a 2001 shot-for-shot 'Murican take on "Abre los ojos" from 1997.

I know, remember when Steve Carell beat two guys to death with a hammer before they could rape a little girl? almost shot for shot, what a rip off!

My favorite part in "Seeking a Friend" was definitely the orgy party with the Russian roulette competition, or when Steve Carell found his naked sister and her husband in the shower post suicide. For a comedy, that shit was dark!

It also sounds like "Last Night". A Canadian independent movie written by Don Mckellar.

'Murcian' remake? Cameron Crowe just adapted the screenplay, though apparently the adaptation consisted of it being translated. Of course... given that few people had seen it in the U.S. before the remake.

Dying of the Light came out on DVD in the UK last week. I kind of wish I'd waited for your review before I bought it, but deep down I know I would have gone for it anyway. I did like Cage's performance, but it was a real mess. Would Schrader's cut really have made any less than this film that was barely released as it was?

So when you say that 'The Dying of the Light' was a film taken away from its director and torn apart, does that make it like a live-action version of 'The Thief and the Cobbler'?
