As talked about on the recent Snobcast, here we are watching an old short that we shot in high school.

Featuring a 4 minute intro by Mike Rudolph explaining a bit of back story on the short. Also, this reaction video was shot on New Years Day, so I'm a little bit hungover.

Also, are you going to upload the short itself to either Patreon or here? It's fine if not, I'm just wondering because it'd be interesting to see it unriffed (probably not the right word to use since this is a reaction and not a riff but eh) and see a bit more of it.

Essays could be written on how we all know each other. Long story short Brian and Sarah went to school with a dude named Adam who myself and a few others had become close with for a year or so before they moved to springfield. Introductions were made. Rest is history.

Would everybody please get off the whole "Dave is a douche" train. The guy has some opinions, that I don't agree with too. But does it really have come down to this whole thing, where someone you disagree with is a piece shit? The guy does bring up some clever points during the midnight screenings and regarding this video, it's just a fun short movie that these guys made during their teens.

I met the lead guy from Las Vegas Bloodbath the other day. Ari Levin. Nice guy despite murdering strippers. He works for the Oprah Winfrey Network now. I told him about the site and LVB being featured on it. Hope he checks it out and watches it.

This was fantastic to watch! I love seeing/hearing the origins of your film-making journey, and this gem is particularly fantastic. I'd imagine it was probably a bit embarrassing to watch after so many years, but at the same time, I hope it was a fun trip down memory lane! Also, it was cool to hear (and see) the story behind Stoned Gremlin Productions, something that has lasted nearly twenty years.

I hope you'll share "Stare Well" sans commentary/riffing/reactions because I want to hear the dialogue (no matter how bad) and to see the actors and the action (when the camera is in focus ~.^) in more than a teeny box. It doesn't matter how "amateur" it may seem in hindsight - this was the start of something that has touched many lives. That in itself is of immeasurable value. n_n

Extra-big thanks to Mike, for bringing this "lost film" to light, sharing your story of this experience, and filming Brad, Sarah, Dave and Buford's reactions!! Cheers. ^.^

This video is a little depressing for me because, when I was a teenager, I was constantly trying to get my friends to make movies with me, or at least start a band, but all they wanted to do was smoke weed and attempt to get laid.

They were lazy assholes. If we had made a movie, it would have been AWESOME.

...OK, actually, our movie would have been far worse than this. Still, I wish we had done similar shit.

My plan at the time was to make a film in which I and my best pal at the time try all day to track down a friend of ours who owes us 40 dollars so we could buy tickets to go to a concert...and then smoke weed, and get laid. It would have been called Searching for Lucian.

It would have been AWESOME (not really).

This is sooo cute and embarrassing. Reminds ne of the olden times. I've got a tape of me and some old school pals when my voice is breaking and suddenly goes so low it's inaudible to anything but sperm whales. Mind you I hated all my school fiends and we were only hung our because of proximity.

I kind of want you to Snob this Brad, maybe as an extra on the eventual next DVD (the Reviewers first season or Shot on Shitteo is probably next for one right? I would love seeing that on there) or a Patreon exclusive video (I suggest even though I don't have the money to contribute to your stuff yet...)

I couldn't help but 'd'awwww' at how you two looked in this, you were really really cute back then. <3 and looking at that old footage it is awesome how far you've come in your skill and quality and improv and stuff!

This kind of reminds me of my High School senior exit project, in the old shame/amusement kind of way, my masterwork was Reefer Madness the Movie Musical and I basically spent fifteen minutes hamming it up like a beast along with my friends and pulling several Irving-caliber jokes in the name of satire in front of an audience of parents and teachers. I recently found a copy of it and I haven't brought out to watch yet because it is awesome but terrible and anything from high school makes me cringe but I really want to surprise my friends with it now thanks to this. :)

with brad being hungover and possibly suffering food poisoning, added with a shaved head, this looked more like a final farewell video. after this they wheeled him to a hospice.

Hey I don't know if anybody else is having this problem but when I press play on this video (and now lots of other blip-related videos too, youtube seems fine) it starts to load for a little bit and then the box just goes black. No buttons, no video, no anything. I've tried restarting my browsers, my computer, still nothing. I don't have an adblock and I'm on a mac so I don't have an obtrusive antivirus getting in the way either. I'm hoping it'll just resolve itself, but I can't think of anything else to do

I had that problem with Firefox in Windows. Turned out the problem was solved by updating the browser (I was using an old version for a while after Mozilla crapped the new UI out, so it was out of date).

Try a different browser if an update doesn't fix it.

Thanks, it seems to have resolved itself now, but I'll keep that in mind if I have that problem in the future. I mainly use Safari and it may not be up to date. I think my Firefox is but I can't remember and it didn't work there either.

I don't if it's just me, but...judging by the how camera moves from person to person and it's angles, it looks and feels almost like one of those typical cut-scenes from BIOHAZARD/Dino Crisis games "before Code Veronica" period-wise. The only thing that was missing, is letterbox.
