Yeah but Grizzly II was leaked onto the internet. As far as I know the only known copies of "When the Clown Cried" are locked up in a vault in a Californian college where it's only occasionally viewed by students as a lesson on how not to make a film.

Any screenshot of the film or descriptions are from people who were involved in the production of the film. No one was comfortable with this movie apparently.

Probably less than a minute in I forgot that I clicked on a title for "The Day the Clown Cried". That was funny. I mean really really fucking fuck funny. I laughed quite a bit. I liked the Demo Reel show that Doug and Rob had going okay, but I definitely didn't laugh all that much for the pilot. It was the last 2 or 3 episodes that had me laughing a bit more. But yours I was enjoying so damn much, I would totally be okay with you doing this kind of thing as a new show, in fact I encourage it. Please do more of this. Although I have the feeling that it's probably just for April Fools, I still think it was a great pilot to what could be a great show. At the very least, you made an awesome video...that I'm going to watch again right now.. O.o

Quite an idea for an April's Fool's joke... by that I mean both the fake-out title/thumbnail image and the actual video.

I kept giving Demo Reel chances, continuously ... so by the end I was really angry at it. This felt like a fitting parody... a parody that was funnier than the real thing:
-quick jokes
-some were very random and absurd
-and it was less about a silly parody of a movie, and more about a bunch of idiots .............. making a porno.... wait, that sounded wrong!

In general I wish to say: great joke, but.... I don't feel like this needs to be ANOTHER series. 80s Dan may be hard to produce, so I understand the slow pace entirely, but that one has a LOT of potential to be a series, this one however feels like it could only work once, do it again and it might start to get stale, just like Demo Reel did.

Little known fact, Admiral Crackers was originally the owner of a shipping company that owned ships which transported a certain cargo from Africa to the South. The name came from what the cargo called him - Admiral Cracker - and it stuck.

We know his grandson better as Brian Lewis.

How long did this take to perfect? Every single joke hits its mark. Every single character is perfectly written. Every delivery is fantastic. Brian's costume is fucking awesome.

The "Team Snob" cast stick to their usual roles for the most part, and though I expected this to be stale, they still keep it fresh with flavorful "what the god damn fuck"-ery that made every line deliver a laugh.

This is partially due to the fact that the editing was spot on, making each joke not just hit, but strike a home run. The timing is absolutely beautiful, and with Brad's lack of boundaries in his writing, the live action cast comes off as hilarious cartoon characters and is all the funnier for it. Only Brad Jones and his team could make such a disturbingly disgusting plot come off as "Silly."

I absolutely loved this April Fools short. I enjoy Brad's internet productions often (and really enjoyed the Snob Movie), but for one reason or another, this particular sketch just touched me in ways that E.T. never could. And now I need a cigarette...

(also, Sarah reminds me a lot of Kali from the latest Battlestar Galactica series. Been watching the Snob for years now and I just noticed.)

Honestly I kind of feel bad saying things like this because I feel like I"m sort of picking on Doug Walker's show by laying more and more criticism on it long after it died...but this parody was far, far funnier than any single episode of that show ever actually was. I think maybe that's because Brad focused much more on characters and jokes rather than actually parodying a movie...on top of that Brad's dialogue is just genuinely better than Doug's, and his darker sensibilities appeal to me more. Great gag...now if you could actually go about getting a hold of a copy of The Day The Clown Cried ...haha.

At first, I had no idea where the fuck this was going. But once the "Demo Reel" came up, I was so riveted. Jillian's performance was so priceless, as was Brian's. The meta-humor was off-the-charts and incredibly wonderful.

With Rob in this, I now want Demo Reel to return, but this time with Brad. I never thought I would type that. Seriously though, I thought the original Demo Reel was just starting to get its footing before all of Channel Awesome saw their Blip revenue fall through the basement and the plug was pulled.

That's an issue with a lot of internet video. Try right-clicking on it, going into settings, and then unchecking "enable hardware acceleration." That fixed it for me.

I never ever post here but I just have to comment that you guys did a wicked job of making the Demo Reel premise actually work. Instead of obsessing over being the next "How It Should've Ended" (which is a problem Doug Walker needs to personally get over), you just did a really funny story with hysterical characters and tied it together with some brilliant comedic timing/editing. Bravo.

Echoing what others said, I'd be completely satisfied if this were an ongoing series, or at least what Demo Reel actually was in an alternate timeline.

I think if they had gone in this direction (that is, focusing on developing the characters rather than on the remake elements) then it could have been really good and it could have survived. And Carl was my favorite character on the show, it was great to see him return.

I don't usually comment on this site but I have to say this was the funniest thing I've seen in ages.

I remember when Doug's Demo Reel first came out, even though I liked it, in the back of my mind I'd be asking myself, "what would this be like if it was made by Brad Jones?" I guess now we know the answer. And it's awesome. Great work guys.

This is completely awesome, especially Rob's role as Karl Copenhagen! And I do agree, Karl, how hard is it for people to just buy Raisin Bran Crunch? It's just one extra word to remember, what's so difficult about that! They are completely different cereals!

Finally, an episode of Demo Reel that made me laugh!
Also, as soon as I saw the McCall's package, it immediately took me back to my childhood of sewing custom clothes with their patterns.. Thanks for that :)
(You could make a huge E.T. plushie with that pattern, too with a few small modifications, but considering the content of this video.. no don't..)

Having watched this a second time, I suddenly realize something very unsettling about the ending.

Random near-future post-apocalyptic ending for the win?

Of all the WTFness, that was the most "What the fuck!?" of the entire episode.

Which also makes the entire episode even more hilarious. Bravo.

Coming from a long-time fan and casual viewer, MY GOD. I haven't laughed so hard since seeing Wolf. If there is any thought to treating this as a pilot for at least a once in a while series, I throw heart and soul into reiterating my support. Even just a miniseries, with the final episode being an attempt at remaking Caligula!

I don't think this could be done as a regular series again. It was funny as a one time thing. I do think Brad needs to find a way to bring back Admiral Crackers. Maybe he can be in an 80s Dan episode. His commercials could have played during episodes of "The Sweenz" show.

Saw this when it was first put up, loved it, some of the best laughs I've gotten from a web series. Came back after actually learning what Demo Reel was and easily twice as funny. Brad should have been involved with Demo Reel since day 1. Admiral Crackers better be in the 80s Dan movie!
