Even though it's just an April Fools video, I would love to see it turn into an actual series. Maybe a more variety of different characters mixed with spoofs of blockbusters and exploitation films.

I second this. With Admiral Crackers alone, you could succeed where Doug...Wait, was it a failure? I know Doug went back to NC but there was never a definitive answer to how well the original Demo Reel did or didn't.

Just think what happens when Donnie finds out Braddie is moving in on his turf and that he took his cameraman.

Doug abandoned the project after only five episodes (one of which was intended to be a finale). Add to that, Rob had some pretty pointed remarks about the aggravation involved in the production of a single episode, I think it's easy to say that Doug himself viewed the project as...well...worthy of abandonment. From my perspective, it seemed like it took a lot more effort to produce than an old NC vid, and the many changes it took (between episodes one and two, between two and three, and the lost episode they haven't even aired), that even Doug and company didn't approve of what they were producing.

Now, I wanna say, I really liked episode three, and five was also promising (except in how it was obviously intended to END the series), but I think I could tell that he felt it wasn't working, and that he knew that very early on. I won't speak for Doug, but I wouldn't be remotely surprised if it ended up at #1 in the next Douchie McNitpick Top 11 Nostalgia Critic mistakes. I'd actually gain all the more respect for him if he owned up to what he has, to me, very clearly all but specifically admitted: he gave up a good thing (Nostalgia Critic) to try something both risky and behind-the-time (Demo Reel), not learning the lesson of his Bart's Nightmare vid.

We're all human, and I think it's clear to say that Doug tries really, really hard in all of his vids. But whenever anybody put all their eggs in one basket, as Doug did when he discontinued NC for DR, that you set yourself up for a massive disappointment. He took a risk, and while our society usually applauds those who do such, I think any observant person would notice that we are equally happy to pounce on someone who makes a mistake as we are to lavish praise on someone who strikes gold. Doug got a lil' too irresponsible in committing himself to a new (but still kinda tired) series, while simultaneously disappointing his old fans by discontinuing his old series. Dude took a big chance, and he got burned. That he bailed out on DR so early (again, especially given the negative buzz that was piling up even from his production staff) suggests pretty strongly that he made a foolhardy endeavor, risking too much on something too risky.

I still love the guy, and I've still loyally followed every vid he's made for years, but I think it's clear that he made a mistake in how he approached DR, and that he's tacitlly acknowledged it. I'd appreciate his courage all the more if he'd officially announce it in his next Douchy vid, but I suspect it'd be by far the most sensitive admission he'd made in his online career. I wouldn't wanna pressure him.

$#!+, the stupid number thing kept telling me that my entries weren't right; I didn't mean to keep posting repetitious posts. Please, Brad or whoever, delete the excessive comments, and this one as well. My post is already long, I really don't wanna spam.

The problem with Demo Reel was it got really bad reception, especially after seeing the pilot episode. Not just from fans who were upset that NC was gone but also people who genuinely felt it was a bad product. Hell, Josh Hadley went on a rant in the 100th episode of Radiodrome about how much he thought it sucked.

The saddest thing is Doug really had his heart set on it being something big and it just crashed and burned so bad. He seemed really bummed about it, and his latest NC eps have been kind of bitter so it's a shame to see.

Didn't Doug spend like $100k on Demo Reel? Sounds like failure to me.

It's hard to recall how sad the world was before Admiral Crackers made his debut.

Admiral Crackers is the most significant thing to happen since 9/11. Only Admiral Crackers is better.

Also, the way the main page of the site is set up with the rotating images of vids to watch and the way to two latest entries are set, I like to think it's Admiral Crackers & Judge Dredd fighting side by side.

You should make Admiral Crackers "commercials" as bumpers for your commercial breaks on you videos.

Lioyd wants all the screen time. That's what happens when Lioyd gets top billing though.

I know 80's Dan is already kind of a parody of sitcoms but "Lloyd the Cat and Admiral Crackers" sounds really awesome! Honestly I just wanna see Admiral Crackers again just thinking about him makes me laugh out loud

Clearly, Lloyd wanted more screen time - and, as cats are wont to do, he made sure that he got it, whether you liked it or not. ~.^

Really, your version of 'Demo Reel' was so funny and brilliant - not to put down the original, of course - that it's no surprise your fanbase wants to see more. (Myself included!) The absurdity of both the movie selection and the strange characters is a winning combination, and the bloopers and outtakes add to the brilliance.

I can understand how it might be hard to come up with, say, five more episodes to make a short season, while still keeping up the laughs and not becoming stale or terribly repetitive. But if it's something you think you could do, then by God, DO IT!! ^.^ (Hell, depending how you do the copyright dance, you might be able to get a DVD out of it. ~.^)

Also, anything to see Brad humping something while sweaty, shirtless, and wearing the Heisenberg hat. ;D

Hey Brad, thanks for tweeting my Brian Lewis self improvement tips!

I hope you weren't offended when I referred to you as "a short, goateed guy who only ever talks about White Castle and how much Man of Steel sucks".

I know that's an unfair generalisation; your beard isn't always in the style of a goatee.

Will you guys be doing a commentary for Demo Reel: ET the Porno?

Okay, Brian in the Captain Cracker costume peeking around that corner cracked me up big time. It was disturbing. Never seen any of the Insidious films but this is what I imagine them to be. :P

I am so tempted to draw comically pornographic illustrations of Admiral Crackers and Rob Walker. Not even in-character Rob Walker, just Rob Walker as himself! And I probably would if a satirical drawing of The Ultimate Warrior I did 3 years ago didn't just recently emerge to awkwardly bite me in the ass.

THIS is what this website has done to me over the years! I can no longer fight the horrors in my own mind!
