I did my "FIRST!", it's over & done with. For me (or anyone else) to do it multiple times is selfish & rude, also very lucky to be in that position before someone else seizes the opportunity out from under them. I'm no supporter of the "FIRST!" game, but the moment was mine, I took it.

Then again so is this series; I never really looked at just how horrifying it is when the characters not only talk about consuming each others' flesh, but succeed in doing so. Pac-Man's an ass.

John Kricfalusi was right: the 80s was a shameful decade, as far as animated kids' cartoons (I'm a year older than Brad, so I'm allowed to say such things with at least a *little* first-hand experience). Lord Ganesha help you if you were one of the poor artists working for a popular or 'mainstream' animation studio at the time. I mean cripes, just LOOKING at this crap makes my eyes hurt. How could those guys go home at night and not wanna kill themselves?

If not for the mere presence of Pac-Man, you'd not have a difficult time convincing me that this was made in the 1960s. In fact, maybe that's what happened: they found an animated film that was shelved in the 60s, painted Pac-Man over whoever the former main character was, and called it a day.

Actually, as someone who attended the same school as Kricfalusi (and older than both of you) I can tell you that animators regard the 80s as a second golden age (the 1930s-40s being the first). Not for the quality of the work of course but in terms of sheer volume of employment. See, once Madison Avenue figured out they could use cartoons as a half hour commercial in the late 70s, everyone and their mother wanted to sell their shit to kids with a cartoon. So pity not the "poor artists" who had never before (and would never again) enjoy such a bounty of opportunity, for such agreeable wages.

My Christmas wishlist included one new DVD-R Hell episode. Thanks Brad, best Christmas ever!! I can add it next to my new History of Power Rangers.

I want to be the vocal minority and just say that this website needs more DVD-R Hell episodes. As a person who only lived during the latter half of the 1990s, I did not have the pleasure of experiencing many cartoons from the 1980s. It serves as the place where I get to learn about obscure 80s cartoons and laugh at the same time!

So, Werewolf, Vampire, Zombie(Night Of The Living Dead type), Zombie(Voodoo type) or communicating from beyond the grave? :-) I agree that more DVD-R Hell episodes would be great.

Lots of the kid's animation when I was young was pretty shameful too - just scroll down to the Casper And The Angels review! Most of it wasn't conceived as a toy or game commercial but that doesn't mean a lot of it wasn't pretty bad.

Shit like this makes what was the driving force this thing got made. There must have been meeting of middle aged tv channel bosses about what the heck kids are into these days. There is that video game everyone loves where ball eats balls around the maze and tries to avoid ghosts (unless under influence of "power ball").
Did anyone really give a fuck about "characters" or non existent story behind it even as a child? Fuck no. Not jealous who had to create christmas special animation and story around something like this :D Bit like you would need to make animation/show about pinball machine or pong game.

Better yet after this got cancelled, they went event even more downhill. "What are those damn kids into these days?" Elderly CEO: "What was that cube box puzzle thing we loved in or chldhood? Make animated seris about that thing!"
