The beaver is our national animal up here. It's not our fault it is also a slang term for female reproductive parts. Also, Email to Pepsi will be worked on tonight.

If you want to do it, do it good, begin a facebook group with in the explanation of the group all your reasons, make a standard mail that people can copy/paste with an adress, that would get a lot more people.
I would do it, but I have a feeling you already have all the arguments, and my English sucks when I have to write a long text, and a text full of faults isn't very professional

Wow, you guys actually mixed it with rum. Great ending sequence =)

Hey Brad…..Thought you might like this. It’s an unintentionally?, bizarre, homo-erotic 1970 commercial for a cologne called (Mandom) staring Charles Bronson. There are actually a series of 8 that are on You-Tube with 5, 6, and 8 being about the most homo-erotic.

Thanks so much for this link. I thoroughly enjoyed this lil' tongue-in-rugged-cheek ad. Mr. Bronson looked as if he was enjoying himself. Douse yourself, Charlie! Whoo! I just hope that Jill Ireland wasn't allergic to it.

Another amusing video Brad, I'm with you on the Crystal Pepsi issue. Pepsi really could make a profit on a limited re-release of Crystal Pepsi, I've talked to many people I know and they either want to try it or have it back again. Pepsi is about to have a major inflow of (polite) messages!
Reply to this
A "Brad Tries" with a message! The last act of this, especially the montage, makes this the most important video you've ever done!

Of course nobody carries those 1.5l bottles around. They're more for keeping in the fridge and pouring into glasses; he 0.5l bottles are for carrying around.

You obviously underestimate the American ability to drink 700 calories worth of soda in a sitting.

How about bringing back some good discontinued sodas. Not knocking the Crystal Pepsi, and I'm happy to support it's return. But c'mon.
Where's the love for Black Cherry Vanilla Coke? Or Mountain Dew Pitch Black? Or the not quite as good Mountain Dew Pitch Black II? Or what about Pepsi Holiday Spice and/or Christmas Pepsi?

Awesome Brad, I took your advice and I E-mailed them to, and I encourage everyone to do this too, I was born in '92, so I never got a chance to drink Crystal Pepsi. I really want to.
Reply to this
Yeah, over here in Portugal (and I think in Japan and Spain and probably Greece), they still sell Pepsi Twist.
And they sell those big bottles to keep around in a fridge as a table soda, to drink at meals rather than it being a carry around sorta like this like you folk do on the United States.

You should try some diet coke with lemon. i used to love that drink. LIME IS NOT THE SAME

Those f***-off bottles are designed that way to fit into the inside door shelves of a small refrigerator. The sizes are pretty standardized in Europe, since room is at more a premium there. Also European consumers generally don't drink as much and so the 1.5 liter bottle is meant to replace a 2-liter, not a travel-size 1 liter. Finally, soda is way more expensive in Europe and helps to explain the smaller standardized quantities.

Brad, I saw your signature on the online petition to bring back Crystal Pepsi.
Why would Pepsi deny themselves millions in sales? At least bring it back the deliciousness for a limited time!

I don't think Crystal Pepsi has ever been sold in my country, but it would still be nice to get to taste some.
By the way, 1.5 liter bottle is the usual "big bottle" here in the nordic countries. There has been some 2 liter bottle trials, but I think they realized they can't charge more for 2 liters than 1.5 liters and stopped producing 2 liter bottles.
For carrying around we have the 0.5 liter "small bottle", which is much more convenient, but costs 2/3 of the big bottle.
In my country some local brands use also 1 liter and 0.95 liter bottles. The latter is because the cut off from 20 cent to 40 cent collateral is at 1 liter. So 0.95 liter bottle is 20 cents cheaper, but actually the content costs the same because you get the collateral back when you return the bottle (which ensures a whopping 95% return rate).

I feel like a dick Brad, I e-mailed them and said how much I love Crystal Pepsi and how much my family loves it and my friends, but I have never tried it or heard of it. Nor I assume has my family.
You have turned me into a liar Brad! A liar! How can I sleep at night if they bring back Crystal Pepsi because of my lies? What if Pepsi shuts down and it's my fault? I will never be well again!
But yeah I e-mailed em, good luck with the soda pop.

I have never tried Crystal Pepsi... I think it was never sold on my country... But now I really miss Sprite Ice! I want to drink it again ;_;

1.5 liter bottles actually are the default size in many countries (including my own country Belgium). Once you get used to them, it's actually quite easy to carry them around.
If you consider a 1.5 liter huge, you should check around Eastern European stores. They sell soda bottles of no less than 3 liters.
Reply to this
Great video as always. I was kind of amused when you thought that somebody actually carries around 1.5l bottles. Of course there are 0.5l bottles too.
Reply to this
If you think a 1,5l bottle is huge you should see the 3,3l ones they sell around here in Brazil, those are really awesome.

Watching these reviews gives me an interesting idea for a business venture. Collecting and tasting old sodas needs to be like the way wine works.

You should appeal to your fans who work in retail to speak with their local Pepsi vendors about this. I'm gonna bring this up with mine when he comes in this week. I mean, his job is to stock my store with what I want. What if I want crystal Pepsi? They may blow off emails but surely they'll listen to their own employees.

1.5 litter bottles are for pussies !
The standard bottle size here in Brazil is 2 litter, and we also have a 3 litter coke (they sell 4 litter coke here during christmas) and 3.3 liter Pepsi !
We also have 2 litter Pepsi Twist here, but It's made with lime instead of lemons.

You should hunt down and try Pepsi Max, it was a pepsi energy drink, don't know if you had it in the USA.
Also, I am currently trying to figure out a way to send you a 2,5 ou 3l bottle of some pepsi variation, since you're impressed with the 1,5l one; as well as some bonanza cola (from brasil).
Reply to this
Pepsi Max is actually the name of Diet Pepsi here in sweden.
Man, I would love to taste some Crystal Pepsi. I mean I really love the "obscure" drinks like Vanilla Coke, and Coke Lemon.
For the longest time, we didn't have Vanilla Coke in my town (Just disappeared from the shelfs) but finally it has made a comeback, and pretty much everyone I see has a goddamn bottle. Why can't Crystal Pepsi be like that?
Reply to this
Great video Brad, I noticed your comment about the glass bottle choice. It's a good one. Glass is actually superior over plastic for carbonated beverages because plastic is porous, and carbonation will find its way out much easier than glass or aluminum (which is why I buy sodas by the can case). This is why a lot of smaller soft drink companies (like bawls) use glass bottles only.
C'mon man, try Bawls next time. You'll be bouncing off the walls in about 5 minutes.

I remember trying Crystal Pepsi when I was a kid, cannot remember if I liked it or not. Thus, we must bring it back so I can remember if I liked it.

Brad,
As some people already pointed out; Europeans don't have a 2 liter of any drink, it's all 1.5, maybe because they tend to have smaller fridges... or just their thing. (I've been to Germany, Italy, Austria, Netherlands, Czech Republic, and Belgium, all much smaller than ours.) Actually I wish they did have more drinks in a glass bottles, because they keep their drink fridges not as cold as ours, and glass holds cold alot better, so I tended to Afri or Coke, because I could get it in a bottle.
I remember liking Crystal Pepsi, too bad it didn't have caffeine in it. I'll have to write them too, and for them to bring back Cherry Vanilla Pepsi too

Here in Belgium we do have 2l bottles, CocaCola, Fanta and some other drinks can be bought in that size here.
Reply to this
Here in Sweden we have both 1,5L and 2L bottles of almost every soda in adition to the common 0,5L bottle. Coke, Pepsi, Sprite, 7UP and Fanta are the ones that imediately come to mind and there are more. The most uncommon soda bottle size is 1L for some reason.

Hey Brad, several months ago I also wrote to Pepsi asking them to bring back Crystal Pepsi; and they sent me, word for word, the exact same response (except for the bit "as you're clearly aware..."

Hey Brad, did you know that in 2005, Pepsi released in Mexico "Pepsi Clear"?
It was sold for only a limited time though. Probably is the closest thing to having Crystal Pepsi being brought back.

I e-mailed. Going to check out the facebook board and petition now. I have no will of my own. But, seriously, I was 8 when this happened so I missed it somehow. Now I'm curious.

Man, you got a lot of mileage out of that piss.
Hey, Pepsi Twist is lemon-flavored, right? Do you have Pepsi Orange over there? It's called "Schwipp-Schwapp" over here in Germany. I could probably spare a big bottle of that. And maybe some more of the local beverage landscape. (Would have to split shipping cost, though)
Reply to this
It's kinda strange. I emailed the people at the Pepsi Corporation about possibly bringing back Crystal Pepsi. Even though it wasn't as convincing as the email you sent, I still got the same automated email back, word for word minus the name. I didn't send a response due to my disappointment.
I really hope they bring this back. I'd be at the front of the line (if any) to get a bottle of it if they did.

I was as way ahead of you, Brad! I had a tab open and was e-mailing Pepsi-Cola before you even got to that part of the video, even though I'm too young to actually remember Crystal Pepsi. Well, maybe 25 isn't really too young, but my family are all confirmed Coke-drinkers, so Crystal Pepsi never crossed our threshold. (I remember Slice, though. I liked that better than Sprite or Sierra Mist.) But I would be thrilled to try this thing if it came back. I totally support the Bring Back Crystal Pepsi Campaign!

We have those 1.5 liter bottles here in Sweden too, but we(I) usually keep them in the house and pour a glass.
Smaller sizes are also sold if you want something easier to carry and I assume
it's the same with Norway.
I generally get the large ones though and carry them in a bag if I must because when you're buying smaller sizes you get less money/drink.
I should write to pepsi. I've never had crystal pepsi because I was born in '89.
Also my drink of choice: Pepsi Max.
Reply to this
Wait you guys don't have 1,5 liter bottles in the US? seriously? :S Thought everybody had those. But as others have stated, they're the normal thing to drink if you want soda for a table dinner. Actually there are alot of 2 liter bottles aswell. I haven't had soda in ages so I don't know if they're in 1,5 or 2 liter bottles at the moment.

2 liter, really surprising that american the ''soda country'' doesn't have the common bottle sold in any other country.

It's 3:54 am where I live, but Damn it, I'll write this letter right now because of this video! Unfortunately, I was born in 1994, so I never got to try Crystal Pepsi, but I really want to try it after your videos saying how good it was. I'm very retro, and I love all things 80's and early 90's, I'm sure that it would sell great, I mean look at the Expendables, people saw it because it had big name stars BUT also because it was a throwback movie to 80's style action films. But I've typed too long on here, time to write that essay, I hope all the other fans write as well!

Well Brad, I hope you think this is good, I used some of the points you made, and got an idea from a letter from a Fan of the Nintendo Power Magazine from the Angry Video Game Nerd's Nintendo Power Episode. (Please note that I have to may have to post this in two parts, and some points may be screwed up because my copy button didn't work from my original letter >:[ ) For the sake of me, Brad Jones at thecinemasnob.com, and Pepsi fans, please bring back Crystal Pepsi! Now that that tid-pit is done, I'll introduce myself. My name is Nathan, and I'm writing this letter to show why Crystal Pepsi would be a successful product if it came back. I was born in '94, but I would LOVE to taste a Crystal Pepsi, as would MANY people from my generation would. This would ADD ON to the already huge fan-base that Crystal Pepsi has had for years from the time it was discontinued. Also, because of the day and age/culture we live in now, people love to have throwbacks to times of past glory. For Example, to pop icons are Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. These two are VERY POPULAR with kids my age and younger, and they have made music videos/song that are throwbacks to the 80's. Lady Gaga also wears wild costumes that seem very similar to how bands used to dress wildly in the 80's, and people seem to have an interest in her. Also, take the new movie "The Expendables". This movie was a HUGE success because of its cast, BUT also because it was a throwback to 80's action movies! These two points show why I think that Crystal Pepsi would do so well, because it can take advantage of the throwback fad going on now. It would be the PERFECT time to sell Crystal Pepsi, because older people love to relive older experiences, and generations like myself, want to have a NEW experience with something form the past they never could before! One more point before I end this letter, there are many T-shirts and products in shopping malls and other stores that have logos of famous bands from the 70s and upward, and I see people of my age in my high school wearing these t-shirts ALL THE TIME, and then younger kids see us wearing these shirts, and then they buy them because they figure they'll look grown-up and as cool just like the older kids. The same can go for Crystal Pepsi, if kids saw teens like me and other teens drinking Crystal Pepsi, younger kids would buy it TOO so they could feel as cool as the older kids. Thus it would ADD ON to the already large existing Crystal Pepsi fan-base and the generation that includes myself that WANT to try Crystal Pepsi, and would make a BIGGER TARGET audience and would generate amazing sales There IS a market for Crystal Pepsi, you just have to take advantage of the throwback/comeback fad going on now, and even if it's released for a limited time, it WILL generate sales. As I stated before, for the sake of me, Brad Jones at thecinemasnob.com, and Pepsi fans, please bring back Crystal Pepsi! Even if this doesn't come to pass, I will still continue to
Reply to this
Part Two- I will still continue to buy Pepsi products, I can promise you that. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter.
A Pepsi Fan, Sincerely,
-Nathan Galindo
Oh about the Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber thing, I just put that there for the reasons, I don't actually like their music, lmao. I hope this helps in some way Brad, I've been a fan for a long time, and would always like to help out. One more thing, I listened to "Nothin's Gonna Stand in Our Way" and "We are the Champions" to get in the retro mood

Great episode, Brad. I wrote them a letter. I couldn't post it on the American website, so I used the Belgian website instead.
I should point out that no one actually carries around 1.5 litre bottles, at least not around here. We carry around cans or 0.5 litre bottles and use the 1.5 litre bottles at home. I'm surprised you didn't think of that; isn't that what they do in America? I can't imagine you don't have similar sized bottles around there?

I loved Crystal Pepsi so much I was addicted to it as a child, I remember we had a coupon for a free case of crystal Pepsi, and it was doing so poorly the super market barley stocked it, so the people at the super market felt so bad for me they kept refreshing the coupon so it would not expire. Eventually the super market got a case in and the the manager personally held it for me. God remember this soda almost brings me to tears. It reminds me of when I was in first grade and my family that passed away back then. I loved this soda more than anything. I wrote Pepsi after viewing this, because I feel like maybe if everyone did the same that it would change something. I want that Diet Crystal Pepsi that you drank Brad. even if it is 18 years old.... Being diabetic though Diet is all I can drink, but I just want crystal Pepsi back so bad I would do whatever necessary to bring it back, even if for just the people that never had it.

Brad- This was very good. I only got to watch a part of it this morning but will watch the whole thing tonight. BTW- I saw a Trailer for some 70's movie you might like to try and Snob. Oh, btw, I would love it if you went on another road trip - say looking for the Legend of Potland or something.

I actually enjoyed "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things". It's a regular laugh riot, what with the early '70s-style Scooby Doo fashions being sported. And it's good for some mild creeps on a boring night, when there's nothing else on T.V. Nuke some popcorn, cuddle up and enjoy the corny, groovy goodness.

I come from Denmark where its very commen to have 1.5 liter cola, it's like having 5L of water in your house, you wont walk around with it, but you will pour from the bottle when ever you feel like a drink =)

I e-mailed the company saying to bring it back and giving them a list of reasons why. So we'll wait and see, in the mean time everyone else e-mail them. I'll spread the word around facebook too and get some friends to try.

I sent Pepsico an email. Here's an abridged version (all of it doesn't fit):
"I feel that Pepsico would be doing both itself and its consumers a huge favor by bringing back Crystal Pepsi for a limited time.
Before I say anything else, I would like to preface this by stating that, yes, I am aware that, by policy, Pepsico cannot take suggestions from consumers. I am aware that, regardless of how diplomatic the rest of this message is, all the points that I bring up will most likely not be read by anyone of decisive authority in Pepsico, and they will not be able to influence any of the company's future business decisions. But I am sending this message anyway in the hopes that this display of support for Crystal Pepsi - along with the support displayed by others - may somehow in the end lead to the return of the product. I hope you can see that I feel strongly enough about this that I put the time and effort into writing a message, and I would support any effort to bring Crystal Pepsi back. Thank you.
At nineteen years old, I am somebody who was still drinking milk and apple juice by the time Crystal Pepsi stopped being sold in the states. I - and probably everyone else under the age of at least 23 - never had this drink, or at least don't remember it. But most of us have no doubt heard of it, and we most definitely want to try it.
Those who were old enough when the drink was around around to try it would also be eager to try it again for nostalgia's sake. Crystal Pepsi has more than just novelty value. Crystal Pepsi is not just clear Pepsi. It is not just caffeine-free Pepsi. Crystal Pepsi had a flavor unique from any other popular soft drink, and because of that, a consumer needs to purchase and drink Crystal Pepsi for the full nostalgia value. There is no substitute.
Finally, you must realize that Crystal Pepsi has recently experienced a significant growth in popularity. This is in part due to internet celebrity Brad Jones, a.k.a. the Cinema Snob. Fans of The Cinema Snob have heard him talk quite a bit about Crystal Pepsi. On his show "Brad Tries...", he has on two separate occasions tried [very aged] bottles of Crystal Pepsi and Diet Crystal Pepsi. The more he talks about it, the more his fans want to experience it, and the more attention spreads by word-of-mouth. He has recently even started a campaign to bring back Crystal Pepsi. His clear devotion to this drink in turn makes his fans want it even more. Long story short, the demand for Crystal Pepsi is higher than before right now. This is something you can capitalize on. And better sooner than later.
In the end, I can only see the company benefiting from the return of the drink.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message."

I finally got a response from them for the message I posted. It's just another cookie-cutter response, so I feel like I can post it without violating confidentiality.
On the bright side, however, unlike a lot of the other replies people are posting here, this one acknowledges that I am aware that Crystal Pepsi was discontinued:
"Dear Michael,
Thank you for taking the time to contact us at Pepsi-Cola. It's always great to hear from our loyal consumers.
As you know, we've stopped producing Crystal Pepsi. In the past, Pepsi had distributed this flavor in several markets, but it didn’t sell as well as we had hoped and so it was discontinued.
There are no current plans to reintroduce this product, but I'll be sure to forward all your comments to the appropriate individuals here. Thanks for sharing your feedback with us!
Again, many thanks for taking the time to contact us. We appreciate your friendship and support."
Still a cookie-cutter response, but I do at least feel like the representative who responded read enough of my message to understand the point.

Nice to see you have a crusade going to bring back Crystal Pepsi. I say you have a big public meeting & have your mob march on Pepsi Headquarters, demanding they begin production of Crystal Pepsi again immediately. Or the fans could just sign the petition someone else posted as I did. Keep us posted if you hear of anything coming from this!
Reply to this
a mob march would be good but what would be even beter is if Brad did a "We Are the World" Type of Song about Crystal Pepsi's and got a whole bunch of popular internet people to appear in it.
Reply to this
That would be great, not to mention hilarious. Tie it to an on-line petition and we are go!
(And no, us Dutchies never got Crystal Pepsi. Never heard of it before Brad tasted it.)

Isn't there equipment for re-carbonating soda? I remember something my parents had in the 90s, there was a regular looking bottle cap with a valve on top that you screwed on to a bottle of water or lemonade or flat soda, and then you stuck the bottle uppside down onto a nozzle connected to a carbon dioxide tank with a pressure meter and it would carbonize the drink.
Reply to this
Sorry, thats carboNATE not carboNIZE. Two totally different things. I think carbonizing is what happened to Han Solo in Cloud city. Carbonating is just dissolving carbon dioxide into a fluid giving it an extra fizz and take the edge of the sweetness in sodas.

your idea could work, in the UK a petition was started around 5 years ago to bring mountain dew back to the uk as it was discontinued in the late 90s and earlier this year pepsico saw the petition and with help from people emailing them we finally got mountain dew brought back to the uk! so it is more than possible to bring crystal pepsi back

Sent my e-mail to Pepsi, but had to do it on the Pepsi Canada website. Well, maybe it'll come out in Canada and I'll send you some! Good luck, Brad!

Hi Peter:
Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding a relaunch of Crystal Pepsi.
Unfortunately, this product was not as popular as others and it was discontinued. While you enjoyed this product, we hope that this won't keep you from trying some of our other products and enjoying them as much as you have this one.
We hope you will contact us with your questions or concerns in the future.
Your request has been forwarded to Marketing for future consideration. Thanks for the suggestion.
Sincerely,

Original Email:
Hi, I am writing to you in regards to a product that has been discontinued for some 18 years now, Crystal Pepsi. I believe that now would be an excellent time for Pepsi to look into re-introducing the brand, for a limited time or longer, as their is considerable intrest in the brand amoung people who tried it in the past, and those younger people who never got the chance to have it. Retro seems to be the ''in thing'', look at the restyled Ford Mustang, Chevy Camero, and Dodge Charger. Even people who disliked the product back in 1993 would probably be willing to give it another shot, even if just to see if its as bad as before. Thank you for your time, you guys make the best cola in the world.

Hey! Great video once again! I'm British, god save the queen and all that you know, and born in '90 so I have absolutely no recollection of Crystal pepsi although my dad does. But despite that I shall support this campaign because I really want to try it now. hehe. Also you have no 1.5l? I get a 1.5l coke with every 3am order of pizza...Anywho I don't know if you have relentless over in America but it's a juice flavoured energy drink that you should try. It's pretty much the only thing my friends drink.
Reply to this
1.5 liter bottles aren't used to walk around with! They're kept in your home to fill glasses from. Like the US 2 liter bottles - except convenient to hold with one hand!
Reply to this
As said by many the 1.5L bottle are the most common here in Europe. Funny thing is I live in Holland and you can't buy the glass bottles anymore in the markets (only café's, bars etc. have those). But to get back to the point; 1.5L are meant for transportation, we use the 0.5L for that. The 2L and 2.5L are available, but aren't very common.
I can't recollect if Crystal Pepsi was released here. But I am curious to try it out, maybe the Dutch Pepsi-Cola might give it a shot if it sells in the US.
I mean retro is in these days, so why try to produce and market it again? Hell, keep the original 90's commercial and it would probably sell itself. "Unfortunately, this product was not as popular as others and it was discontinued." Yeah, it wasn't popular 18 years ago, but everybody is about 18 years further.
I will support the "Bring Crystal Pepsi back!", because I really want to see this product.

Hey, i wasn't born when Crystal pepsi was originally produced but my dad had about 10 cases of it cause he loved it, but right now they are piss yellow and im not to sure if it will taste the same even with your vid, i contacted pepsi and i got the same email from them, so im sure they have a template for that one question. Also i had an idea why don't they bring it back for the birthday of the CEO or of pepsi co itself would be great for everyone!

Crystal Pepsi was actually the first cola drink I had. My parents didn't allow us anything caffienated as a child, and since it was caffiene free, we could have it. I loved it, and want it back. I'm now a type 1 diabetic, and if they brought back diet crystal pepsi, which I remembered liking as well, great! Finding sugar free drinks other than pepsi or coke is hard at times, and even a different option like diet vanilla coke, diet lime pepsi, etc. is at least an alternative.

Hi! Its very possible for a grassroots movement to bring back discontinued products, we were successful in england in bringing back not only a chocolate bar, but all of the varieties of chocolate bar that werent being sold anymore. So if you do want crystal pepsi, collect people on facebook or any large website as all you really need is people to see it.

Wow, I didn't know you guys don't have 1.5 litre bottles of soda! We only have 1.5 litre, not 1 litre. The 1 litre bottle is so much more convenient and it also makes so much more sence lol.

Was it my imagination or was TCS not drinking from the glass? Either he was taking really tiny sips or he wasn't drinking it at all. Let's see you gulp that sucker! On carbonating flat sodas: Buy dry-ice and dissolve a small amount of it in the drink until the drink is sufficiently carbonated again. Not sure what the ration would be but I would suspect a chunk of dry-ice the size of a regular ice-cube would sufficiently carbonize a bottle of the size in the video.

Very very late, but...
The first one you received was completely a form letter. I used to work in consumer relations for such a company. The wording is eerily similar to our form letters, as is the redundancy of telling you what you already know. A few mad lib-style replacements and a custom sentence typed in, and it worked fine. Though that guy wasn't half so "lahk a BAWSS" as I remember being, as I removed the redundancies and replaced them with "I hear ya, bro" style platitudes in cases like this.

A 1.5L bottle isn't weird at all. I'm in Australia and we have those, as well as 1.25 and 2L.
The purpose of the bottles is for occasions when more than person will be drinking it, like families and parties. They're also handy to have open for a few days for when you're in the mood for a glass.
The US doesn't do this?

You probably should have asked for the recipe. If they won't be making you any, then the least they could do is to release the a recipe since they aren't making any money off it any more.
Granted, they would probably want to hide the "Pepsi" part.
