Great episode, always love it when you have a 4th surprise guest at the show. It sound that the movie is really bad but I got to admit when you showed the city shot I almost thought it was the real thing but that's probably because I watched the episode minimized. Also Mr. Mattei had some strange fascination with the horse fucking, probably because he wanted to be brutal and intense in his movies but didn't had that much of a budget for that, so he had to settle to some horse fucking.
Oh and I hope you do the next episode sooner, if you have the time, because after the Nero one it's Violence in a Women's Prison and I can't wait to hear you guys talk about that one. Reply to this

I checked out that interview with George Eastman, as I have the DVD for Porno Holocaust, but no where does he mention Bruno Mattei. He only talks about how he and Joe D'Amato had fun making the movie and that basically they had the idea of taking a vacation in the Caribbean and they shot a bunch of movies there for fun. Those aerial shots of the city are actually stock footage of Italo Gismondi's 1/250 scale model of Constantinian Rome. It's full of buildings that didn't exist in the time of Caligula and the footage looks incredibly bad, but the real thing took thirty-six years to build and is incredibly impressive. It's been used in movies like 'Gladiator', too. It's in the Museum of Roman Civilization in the Esposizione Universale district of Rome. If you're ever in Italy I highly recommend taking a look. Good episode, guys. I was looking for a copy of this one but I could only find the Caligula Reincarnated As Nero and it had some alternate title like Orgy of Power or something like that. I had gotten Robowar and Cicciolina Amore Mio and after watching Robowar, I can't wait until you guys do the episode of The Bruno Mattei show on it. I was laughing my ass off in the first thirty seconds over the voice Omega 1 had.
Also, this Friday is the third anniversary of Bruno's passing. He had passed away on May 21, 2007 in Italy. He is still missed by all of us and continues to live on through his work. We miss you Bruno. Reply to this

About the background blue sky, it goes way back to 1969 and the ancient-rome-themed F. Fellini's movie Satyricon. Tinto Brass used the same art director, Danilo Donati, and being hugely influenced by Fellini wanted to achieve the same feeling to his film. So Bruno Mattei and everyone else who copied Caligula asthetically, basicaly copied and inevitably degenerated Fellini's unique modernist vision about ancient Rome.
P.S. You should definately check Walerian Borowczyk's 'The beast'(where the horse fucking stock footage comes from). It is absolutely crazy, cencorahip-defying crazy, and during the 80's it was banned all over the world and was considered a video nasty. But beware, it is quite artsy, as you often say. Reply to this

Once you have your canada goose outlet, it's important to treat it well. You shouldn't dry clean your canada goose expedition parka; knows the proper procedure to clean your fur. Seasonal fur storage is necessary to protect against temperature and humidity. During the winter, wear yourcanada goose coats proudly and be gentle with it, you want it to last for a long time.
