The Big Box: "Seven Doors of Death"
I've wanted to do a series revolving around Big Box VHS tapes for quite a while now. Collecting the classic Big Boxes is probably one of the coolest collections a cult movie fan could have. The first episode focuses on Lucio Fulci's "The Beyond," or as it's known in the Big Box: Louis Fuller's "Seven Doors of Death." Hope you all enjoy!
I have to watch this movie. You cant go wrong with a Brad recommendation. That woman is very developed in the upper torso region.

Very cool segment. I especially love the "Automan" theme. It gives it the perfect early-80's touch. Your voiceover reminds me of a Dan Ackroyd character from his SNL days(sadly I can't remember his name)

Well, nice review... on the other hand I watched The beyond, and personally I found it disappointing. The gore effects are cheesy, the dialog is crap, and the plot and continuity nonexistent. It's just an exercise for Fulci to kill of characters, that don't interact with each other, in the most creativly stupid ways (spider scene anyone?). I wouldn't recommend it... Maybe I'm just not that into Fulci cult movies.

Ah I had no idea this would be a show with a new character. Great stuff.
I collect big box's too, mainly stuff I rented alot when I was younger, as well as pre-cert "video nasties" when I can get them for a good price...Some go for a ridiculous amount, Snuff and Cannibal Holocaust are in the £100 region.
Anyway, looking forward to more big box vids.

Freaking loved the uncut version of "The Beyond", although that is a nice opening credits sequence for the cut version. And I'm sorry Brad, but even though you told the audience to take a look at the box art, I couldn't help but look to the right of it instead. >.> I feel bad for staring at your fiancee in that region...

Seven Doors of Death is such a bizarre cut of The Beyond... if you are going to leave all of the extreme gore in, why the hell would you cut it in the first place???

I've got the special edition of The Beyond on DVD in the tin box. I'd say that's the closest thing that DVDs will get to those lovely big boxed VHS tapes that gives a boost of nostalgia for me.
Yes The Beyond (aka Seven Doors of Death) is a beautiful masterpiece filled with plenty of gore and over the top acting, just the way I like my Italian horror films.

The Beyond is my favorite Fulci movie.
I really miss the big boxes of the VHS days. I remember back in the 80's I'd go to the video store and walk into the horror section and actually get so scared of the box artwork that I wouldn't touch the box. I was a wussy 8 year old.
What the Hell happened to kick ass artwork on big ass boxes? I'd buy more DVD's and pirate less if they had big fucking boxes with good art. I'm going to start looking for old boxes for movies I have, take out the VHS tape and put my DVD inside of it.
